I made my hotel reservations through Reservations.com. They charged $107.00 more than the Hotel charged. That is in addition to their service fee of $23.00. I contacted Reservations.com customer service and asked for them to show me where it was specifically stated in their policy that there would not be a refund in this situation. After 5 emails they just stated that I accepted their policies when I hit the " Complete Reservation" button. I gave them one star because the reservation was made.
I would highly recommend using this sight. Just be aware that it's not the actual hotel, it is a booking service for the hotel. They were actually amazing for me. I booked 3 rooms trying to use a promo code for a discount. I ended up not using the proper web site to get the discount and got charged full room rate. I emailed them, explained my situation and they very politely responded and fully refunded my money!
After getting a confirmation! I'd made my reservation over a month in advance. I thought I would have no problem. Wrong!
After getting dropped off after my emotional memorial service looking forward to a nice bed. I check in and showed them my confirmation. Oops " we have no room for you. And I'm sorry we are all booked up! I then had to get another last-minute reservation in the next town and take a Cab there! Talk about a nightmare! Never EVER again
OMG, avoid this scam site. They come up on google as a top choice, but are total scam artists. Read every single bit of fine print. I tried to cancel a hotel reservation with them just a couple of days after I made it, and 38 days before my arrival date, and they want to charge 33% of the total bill including cleaning fees. When pressed, they lie and say its the hotel policy and to call the hotel. Once you figure out they are lying, they give you the run-around and bounce you to a new representative every 2 minutes while continuing to lie and make excuses. Call the places directly and avoid using this website for anything, ever.
I am old and used this site by mistake twice. The customer service is from a third world country not against people there but it's was hard for me to understand and communicate. The $19 ++ service charge is a joke. Please don't think you are saving money just look at the ratings and save the money. CALL THE HOTEL direct and get satisfaction without having to worry about customer service!
Reservations.com shows you a room rate that's $10 lower than anyone else's rate, and then charges you $20 which they do NOT disclose until after the booking is charged, and then they inform you it is nonrefundable. Total scam! Now I'm terrified that the hotel won't even honor the booking. Who knows? Please never use this company for booking.
I have to recommend Reservations.com. Even though I've only used it once, my experience was good and I had no issues at all with the hotel check in. If you need a good website to help you out in finding and booking hotels, this one is it.
They represented themselves as part of the hotel. I mentioned a deal I found online that they said was no longer available. My brother sent me his confirmation that included the deal. They then said there were no charges for parking (in San Francisco?! Since when). This made it look like they were matching deal but had I gone with them the hotel charges $60 for parking like all do! Some even more. I noticed my brothers confirmation explicitly mentioned 50% off parking so I told him to forget it. Then they charged me $15 cancellation fee! I never even got off the initial phone call or authorized the reservation! Cancellation fee for what?!
Reservations.com is a dishonest rip-off company. They charge you $15 "non-refundable processing fee" when all the while their "cancellation policy" states that they do not charge a change or cancel fee.
I will never ever use this service again, and I hope to warn others of this crooked outfit. Don't ever use this bad bad company.
Total scam... I booked a room on what I thought was the actual hotel site, they bury the cancellation rules under a link that looks like you are going to review the rooms. When you get your receipt and find out you are not able to cancel, they are additional "fees" added outside of the hotel fees. You try to reach customer service and they send you to Expedia. When filing a dispute with my credit card company, you finally get contacted by Expedia only for them to blackmail you into either cancelling with no intention on giving you a refund or to recharge your card. Stay as far away from this site as possible.
We thought we were booking direct with the motel. They quote the right motel price and get your credit card. Then get your receipt through email they have high hidden fees and terrible (none) customer service when you try to get help. They are a a rip off, are misleading and an awful company. Our charge ended up over 20% higher than if we would have booked through a reputable company. Don't book through them.
This company rises to the top of Google searches by sponsorship. It is cleverly concealed in the Google search. They added 35% to a hotel reservation and lied to me about availability. I was traveling and not able to check the room rate until I checked in and it was too late to cancel the reservation. I called and complained to them and they told me to read their policies. Do not use these crooks.
Made a reservation and then 10 minutes later I found a reservation for over $60 less. Tried to cancel and after much effort I got it cancelled but they would not refund the $20 "booking fee". It was so hard to understand the res agent when we booked that I was not aware of such a cancellation policy. I tried to work with customer service and they were not very pleasant and did not give a darn. Do not book with these people!
I read that there is a low price guarantee and I sent the lower price to reservations.com, but I haven't heard back from them on reducing the price. I didn't like that they didn't include taxes and fees in their quoted price, so when I thought I was spending about $130 it was actually closer to $180. I'm not a happy camper. The other sites I've used in the past include those fees. The checkout process somewhat hid the total in my mind. Be careful when using Reservations.com.
Was charged $160 when my subtotal was 102 and all the crazy fees that they put on there. And then called 2 minutes later when I realized all the fees and they said you booked it there's no cancellation. Lesson learned never with anybody except for a travel agent or the actual hotel.
They booked my hotel in the wrong state. Was super nasty when I called to work something out. Very rude customer service person. Called the hotel in the other state, they said there was no problem getting a refund from them but Reservations.Com had to request it. Reservations.Com would not do it.
Reservations.com lies and cheats its customers! Run don't walk away from this company. They told me I'd get a refund and then NO I don't get the refund. Took 3 days for them to answer the phone, then I could barely understand the customer service agent. Now they say they'll investigate, right, I might as well kiss that money goodbye, no doubt that I'll never get my refund. If I could give them no stars I would.
This is a scam site. Cancellation is not free as they charged $25 for cancellation and $20 for order fee. Also credit card was charged immediately.
I cancelled and placed the reservation with the hotel directly and was charged almost $100 less than reservations.com charged, so better off but they are thieves.
I made 2 reservations through RESERVATION.COM. I would never do business with them again. They are not honest about the availability on the hotel of your preference instead they want you to book with one of their preferred hotel! Any business needs to be honest and trustworthy otherwise once is more than enough!
Reservations.com happily took my reservation for a weeks hotel stay in a rural town for Christmas. I had to pay the week stay in full with this company when I checked in the hotel had no hot water, but didn't tell me that. It wasn't until I went to take a shower for Christmas mass that I discovered there was no hot water. The reservations desk said oh yeah, the pipes burst and we have no ETA on a fix. I haven't heard anything from Reservations.com for a month now. If they had simply confirmed with Days Inn in Seymour, indiana, that they had no hot water when I checked in Christmas Eve night, they would have admitted it, forcing me to move to a different hotel for my week stay. $599 for less than 24 hours is outrageous and Reservations.com refused to return a penny of the prepaid week stay in a hotel I didn't spend 24 hours at.
Rest assured, I will post blog comment to all unknowing travelers never to use this reservations site. Ever.
