I attempted to book a reservation and found myself on Reservation.com. I selected the hotel and clicked on reserve. At no time did I become aware that I just accepted a non-refundable option? When I called to cancel the reservation, they were quite rude and seemed as if this was a common occurrence. I had just booked it and they were unwilling to cancel. I appealed the charge with my CC company and just found out that they would not reverse the charge as well. Seems to be an Iron Clad document. I will take the loss, but Please Do Not Use Reservation.com. They are well-practiced in ripping people off!
When you book the reservation (thinking you are on the hotel website) They do not disclose the total amount being charged until after you have confirmed the reservation. By then they have your money. I went back and pretended to book the same reservation again and discovered when you go to the confirm purchase page, the screen scrolls forward instantly so you never see the disclosure about the $19.99 non-refundable service fee. (Unless you scroll backward...) Also they quoted the room rate plus "applicable taxes & fees"... The actual taxes & fees when I booked directly through the hotel were $7.92. Reservations.com charged however charged $15.84 for taxes and fees... Great class action lawsuit here.
I reserved 2 rooms at $80 a night on reservations.com. When all was said and done their fees basically added another night to my cost. I called customer service and they basically said not our problem and were very rude. They offered absolutely zero assistance. I will never use reservations.com again. I will tell anyone that will listen to me never to use reservations.com. One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a reservation site online.
With a plethora of options for hotel discounts, reservations.com should be the last one on your list. $14.95 service fee, extreme lack of flexibility and no desire to aid customers with changes to their travel schedule.
Choose a company without fine print and an exorbitant fee. Avoid reservations.com.
Reservations.com does not follow through with their policy's. The rate that I booked at was not the rate they gave me. They charged an extra $20 in taxes and fees and a $14.98 service fee. These fees were added after I completed my booking. My confirmation said I could cancel but would not get back my $14.99 service fee. They refused to allow me to cancel. They charged $42 more than any other place to book the same room. I would never use them again and was tricked into using this company.
This company was mis-leading from the start. They represent themselves as the hotel. They have higher rates than the hotel. They do not allow cancellations in the specified time-frames. Hotels have difficulty finding your reservations or printing your receipts. I book many hotels yearly for business and these guys need to be shut down and disallowed as a third party booking company for the hotel chains. They are fortunate to be at a distance overseas where i cannot visit them personally.
I will never deal with this company again. Poor customer service and not honest on charges.
Booked a hotel through them and never once mentioned it was in USD, noticed when my card was charged and tried to cancel the, They have told me that I cannot cancel bookings with them and were very rude about it.
Would never suggest anyone using them.
I cannot in right mind even give them a Half Star rating. But I have to pick something.
I too was mislead by this website into thinking I was booking directly with the hotel. Luckily my credit card company caught the error realizing it was US booking company. I cancelled my reservation within 5 minutes of making it but they have still charged me 30 bucks cancellation fee. Never use this site, try Booking.com instead, they are excellent.
BUYER BEWARE. The site that shows up when searching for the hotel is actually reservation.com. Totally misleading. When speaking with their customer set they do not identify this fact either. I was told I was getting the best room rate available and it was the last room available for what I was looking for. Not true... shortly after booking I found the hotel actually had more rooms at much lower prices, almost 40 percent cheaper! A very valuable lesson learned unfortunately.
I thought I was talking to Holiday Inn directly, even mention my membership benefits. Of course the guys english sucked. Got a rate for our room. Did not know there was another charge of 19.99. My credit card was charged right away. 19.99 is not refundable. My hotel stays were $40 less when I got there then what I paid, but because reservations.com paid the bill, I'am guessing they made off with the $40 plus the 19.99. Holiday Inn knew nothing other then the amount the bill was suppose to be and that it was paid, which was less then reservations.com charged me. Internet users beware!
They intercepted me trying to reserve a hotel. I did not want them to do my reservation. If there is someone out there that can investigate their practices please do. They would not cancel after 5 minutes reserving. They make it look like you are reserving with the hotel directly. Look like we can do a Class Action Law Suit because all these reviews are saying the exact same thing.
Rip off, scam, crooks.
Don't tell you the details. Once they have their credit card number, you are doomed. No turning back. Their investigation takes 5 -7 business days. Which I don't know what it means. I am going to tell anyone and everyone I know to stay away from them.
Booked a cheer comp from past July... bc can be very expensive. Guess what... they kept giving me booking id's for Marriott and the hotel said no booking. Wow. They do a whole wrap around and make you wait for hours on hold. They are a scam site.
Do not use!
Simply do not use a company the lies. The person I spoke with came across as sleazy. I asked more than once whether they were the official site of the branded hotel. He never said they were not. I worked it out before giving them my credit card details thank heavens.
Made a hotel reservation for 2 nights and then our office meeting changed so I called to cancel one of the nights. Even though it is well over a week away I was told that NO CHANGES can be made! So that little scam just cost me over $300! They also charge $19.99 to do the scam!
Oh yes, they did tell me I would pay a $14.99 charge but the man I talked to said it was included in the price and not a separate charge. It is a separate charge an what's more its non refundable! This is a scam! Don't use them for anything. If you hear their name- hang up.
These guys suck with a capital S
Firs they disguise themselves as the hotel i was staying then hit with no changes and no refunds. Its not like offered any discount on rates. All i needed was to change the trip by a day and they tell me i am out my money. What a POS company
Googled the hotel and thought I was at their site but turned out to be Reservations.com
Got charged a non refundable
$14.99 service fee that is not mentioned ever! Could have saved that fee and got a better rate directly from the hotel
Stay away
Wish I could warn people before they make reservations
First of all, I thought I was on the motel website. I made the reservation and there was no mention of a 25% "recovery fee" or a $14.99 cancellation fee. Within moments I called their toll-free number, only to get a recording promising someone would answer in two minutes. Here I am 20 minutes later and no answer. Yep - an absolute SCAM. Thank goodness for Amex for stopping all payment to them.
I have to say this website is a complete scam. Not only did the price alter from the price provided at booking it also sets the currency in US even though the website was through a Canadian portal. I went to cancel as it was 30% higher than any other site and they refused... terrible business practise...
Answer: Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. You may have to cancel your card and get a new card and card number, but it's worth it.
Answer: Impossible to get money back. They're just scumbags!
Answer: Yes, this company charges a fee, which it will not refund even if you cancel your reservation within minutes!

Answer: It can be, if its refundable reservation. Every reservations has a different cancelation policy. Mostly last minute reservations are not cancelable.
Answer: My experience is the same. reservations.com obviously nails a lot of unsuspecting Canadians this way. They don't make any attempt to help you out when they are confronted by this way of hosing us. Its a sleazy organization.
Answer: Hello Brodie, We have sent you an email this morning regarding your concerns. Please email us directly so we may assist you. Sincerely, Customer Support Reservations.com
Answer: Yes, you were billed. Call your credit card company and report it as an unauthorized charge. Your company should remove it, send you a new card and assign you a new card number.
