Buyer beware
January 17, 2016

Tried to order an egift card this morning... $300 authorisation taken from my credit card but no transaction complete message received, no email acknowledgement, and customer services completely unable to assist me. Not what I expect from a company like this at all. Now i will probably have to go through the dispute and chargeback process with my bank. Dreadful customer experience. Saddened.

Adorible

Redid my bedroom and went with the works: bed, dresser, chest, nightstands, new linens, duvets, pillows galore! The furniture was the biggest pain in the neck had to send the first set back because it came in the wrong color from what I requested, but the replacement came in a reasonable amount of time and my room is so beautiful! Will definitely choose PB for my next remodel.

Backordered
July 24, 2020

I placed an order May 14,2020. The order was a set of dishes. Part of the order was delivered which was dishes and salad plates. I chose this particular set due to the large-sized bowls. The order reads Backordered and the bowls would arrive Sept 16-18. I looked up my order and it now reads "estimated delivery Oct 8-12. There has been no email or anything from Pottery Barn. It's a good thing the set is not a gift and for me. I'm very disappointed with the long wait. They didn't charge me for the back ordered items

Backorder issue
April 6, 2017

I love pottery barn and their stock is always great. However, they should not mark their items as "in stock" if they are actually on backorder! My sheet set was marked "in stock" and when I went to check out, I received a notice that they would be on backorder for 3 months. They need to find a way to fix this.

Never again!

I used to like PB. Spent a lot of $$ there. I ordered an item and wanted to return it because it didn't work out. Nowhere did they show there was a charge for returns yet they charged $30 for a $76 item. I could have taken it back to a store. I'll NEVER shop at this company again. What a ripoff!

Disappointed
March 7, 2019

I've ordered several items from Pottery Barn and generally have been pleased, but this past November I ordered the Fionah sofa in performance velvet. First, the bench cushion is a brick. Second, the performance velvet pills and sheds and despite every day use for several months continues to pill and shed. Finally, today I moved it into the living room to make room for my new family room sofa and the screwed in legs were all loose. We're just lucky the whole thing hadn't collapsed! Sad, sad stuff. Looks good though.

Delayed Delayed Delayed

I ordered a $4000 sofa on December 5th. The in store promise of delivery was originally December 26th. Soon that changed to January 2nd. We are now looking at the end of April or May. No one from Pottery Barn calls to explain. No one advocates for you to get your delivery. Clicking on the "track your delivery" link shows you weekly changes and postponements. The link shows the sofa is back ordered, yet brick and mortar stores have never stopped selling the sofa. Take your business somewhere else - anywhere else. Pottery Barn does not care one fig about servicing you.

Masking children
November 19, 2022

I used to buy all my grandkids furniture toys bedding. Etc from Pottery Barn for kids. I am disgusted you would put children on your page in masks. Mask are filthy and are full of chemicals. Do your research. A piece if paper over your face is doing nothing but inhibiting your breathing. In my world that is child abuse. I will now be unsubscribing my email. I will never buy anything from you again.

I order a barstool and a bed that included a mattress. Barstool came with 1 leg completely broken off and bed came without mattress. Even though description online said it included mattress pb would not make good on order. Customer was poor and rude! Shopping at Restoration Hardware for future needs

We ordered our nursery items 6 months before our due date. We were told the main items were in stock and it would just be 6 weeks for delivery. Well, each month since they've changed the delivery date and eventually changed it to out of stock. Leaving us with no options less than a month from the due date. We ordered from them because we believed they were a trusted brand but we won't be recommending them to anyone.

We purchased the Dream Manual Swivel Glider Recliner. It is incredibly uncomfortable. The back of the chair cushion pushes you forward so you cannot rest your head. It also makes a very loud pop sound when you close the foot rest, which has woke our baby multiple times. There is no other way to get out of the chair if you have reclined, so we just can't recline the chair if our baby is sleeping. Lastly, when you recline back, the chair does not want to stay in that position so you have to continue to push yourself back in the recline position in order to stay leaning back. It is literally the most uncomfortable chair for nursing and resting that we have used. Very disappointing for the money spent.

Rip Off

Ordered Tencel bed cover from Pottery Barn May 11
Called 5 days later to cancel the order. Ended up calling 5 times to make sure it was canceled because it couldn't be delivered for more than 2 months. Finally a women from Pottery Barn called me and said," this is an overseas vendor and we can't cancel it" she explained," once you receive it send it back through UPS it will take 2 months and then they will refund you" I asked if I could return it to the store and she told me "no". So, Pottery Barn sells goods that you are unable to cancel or return?!
So why sell them?
Won't be shopping there any more! And I'm telling everyone of my experience!

We got a gift card for our wedding and really don't care for the prices for what they sell and inquired into cashing out the gift card. They don't do that. People, please do not buy gift cards for stores that do not refund the cards. If we are lucky, we may be able to afford something for our $100 card.

No customer service…Don't buy book bags!

Purchased 4 backpacks for 4 Kindergarten students. 3 backpacks took a month to receive. I paid 15 additional per backpack to have personalized. The backpacks state that they are for Kindergarten students. We couldn't fit a reg file folder, they didn't come half way down the back of the kids. Called customer service. They wouldn't do anything for me. Don't buy from this company. They DONOT stand behind their products.

I placed an order on January 14th for a duvet cover and pillow shams. I had to check that I agreed that the item would take 7-9 weeks, which was fine as we weren't moving into our new home until March. When I received my order confirmation after placing my order, the shipment date was May 14,2019... 4 months after I placed my order. They will not let me cancel it because of it taking twice as long to ship! I even said I would order another duvet from Pottery Barn that would come sooner and I was still not permitted to cancel this order! Beware when committing to one time frame and getting a much later one! Guess that will be my last order from them!

Not what I wanted

Yes, my flat queen sheet was very wide which I love, but this is the first time I have had a queen size "fitted" sheet that was "too" big.
My low rating is because this sheet set material is so thin! I already had a thin set of sheets and sure DIDNOT want another thin set.
Also way over priced for the poor quality of material. I will not return them because I am sure I would be charged for return shipment and possibly restocking fee. No more Pottery Barn products for me.

We are trying to buy a sofa which was told 6 - 9 weeks for delivery but later find that it is now 19 - 21 weeks. We are trying to cancel the original and resubmit with a new unstuck fabric but they won't cancel the first order and blaming the vendor. It is 2 weeks and they say they have no influence with the vendor and can not (Will not/do not want) to do anything.

Sofa

Horrible service! I purchased a sofa in February 2023 along with other furniture. I returned the sofa the day they tried to deliver it. And I'm still having issues with getting the 2400 back on my card. I've spoken with pottery barn and capital one - pottery barn's credit card and no one seems to know how to fix the problem! Pottery credit card says the problem is pottery barn and pottery barn says it's one credit cards end! Either way I just need it fixed and no one seems to be able to fix it!

It's appalling that Pottery Barn is considered an upper tier furniture company. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. My sofa/bed was installed incorrectly and I emailed their customer service and called them over 5 times for 2 weeks. They kept saying they have put out a request to a third party to come check the installation. 3 weeks in, no one came and no update. I finally begged the agent to re-route me directly to their third party and the third party said there was never a case or request made for an inspection! Pottery Barn never even filed a case! In the end I had to get a hotel booked for my guests because they couldn't sleep on the broken sofa bed. I'm still waiting to hear back or get any compensation from Pottery Barn! Extremely disappointing for a purchase of over $2K.

Price Adjustments
September 6, 2022

I order 3 items hanging picture rail system from Pottery Barn 2 weeks later the price dropped by $20.00 each. I requested a price adjustment, and they advised they do not do price adjustments. Only if the item was in transit would they provide this. I was on hold for over 45min just to get this answer. They would rather have you return the item and reorder instead of giving a price adjustments Here is to awesome customer service! Poor Customer sevice.
