Some time buy dog food at Petco. One time have a problem with delivery but we settle it with support in fed minutes. I can't tell that I change my local pet shop for Petco, but sometime I'll order from them for sure!
My order was messed up somehow in their system and they were unable to work with me to get the problem fixed. Was even told by the customer service rep that there was no supervisor! Finally gave up and ordered from another provider.
I have 25 animals I care for. 4 are dogs and 8 are cats (5 strays). I've priced getting in the car, going to a store, buying the supplies I need, driving back, etc. In time and money, Petco is actually less costly and light-years more convenient. It all comes right to the door - automatically - just when I need it! I haven't seen the inside of a pet store in years! Check it out!
Petco has the very worst customer service. The customer reps are incompetent. Very frustrating to deal with. Suffice it to say I will never order from Petco or step foot in a Petco store again. Many stores come and go and there are at least 6 other on line stores providing pet products. Go elsewhere
Great finds. Good quality brands of dog food... And cat food. Lovely displays. Easy to access your pets needs. Good deals. I bring my pets in so they can also have a say in deciding their favorites. Pets are welcome. Good service store; and friendly staff.
This is my favorite pet store. I feel they really value their customers. I talked to a chat person a while back and they were really helpful and cared about me and my dog. I would rather shop online with Petco then go to our local PETsMART. I've had way better experiences.
PetCo frequently offers discounts to existing users via email. The flash sales are usually GREAT... up to 40% off. Through their rewards program, we earn 10% coupons regularly. I find their website user friendly. Reviews are helpful. The cart saves items long-term if you're signed in. You can review past orders. Shipping has always been prompt. Users are notified of shipping dates or backorders (sometimes orders come in multiple shipments). I'm a fan!
It went from getting a $5 reward for every 100 points to now every 167 points! You only earn one point per dollar so now you have to spend $167 to get the $5 reward. Ridiculous! It was a mediocre rewards system to begin with when you had to spend $100 to get $5 and now they've nearly doubled it. Their new rewards system is just insulting to the customer. If they're going to be that cheap they should just do away with Pals rewards altogether. The rewards are now next to useless since the amount you have to spend to get the points is so ridiculous. Petco is not economical enough to warrant spending so much there. Most items can be ordered online or bought at another store much cheaper. Petco never sends coupons or anything with their loyalty program, which is why I prefer PetSmart.
Terrible experience. Tried to shop Black Friday sales on petco.com, and site was slow. Could not check out. Finally was able to check out and my item was out of stock. Selected to be emailed when item available. Received email on my phone that the item was back in stock and immediately ordered, within 30 minutes of the email arrival. Paid using PayPal for the item, funds were withdrawn, and yet item back ordered again, spoke with a rep, who said it should be in soon, and arrive before Christmas. Writing this review 2 days before Christmas. Don't have the item and Paypal funds are gone to petco, have cancelled & requested refund. Very disappointed all around and will not use petco in the future. The phone representatives were pleasant and professional but the bottom line is I never got my order, which I paid for.
This business does not take care of their leopard geckos. They have put them on sand (which can kill them if digested), have multiple in one tank (very stressful), have only one hide (that I wouldn't even call a hide, due to the fact that it is CUT IN HALF so you can see inside), and multiple tanks had dirty water bowls, as well as live and dead crickets sitting in the tank. This in all is horrible leopard gecko care, and is a horrible example for new leopard gecko owners. Please do not shop here!
I've shopped petco stores for years and just recently tried petco.com to save some time. Huge mistake. Website is not user friendly if trying to use the repeat delivery option. Coupon codes never seem to work, and shipping is always charged even though it is advertised as "free" with order over $49. This is a multi-million dollar company! If they can't figure out how to compile a user friendly website, I think it's time to move on to a company that does. Sayonara Petco!
Never a problem at the store. Friendly staff, very well stocked store. Napa County. Plus, they have an onsite no kill cat shelter, where they take animals, that are out of time and going to be killed at public animal shelters. We have a gaggle of cats from there and love them all. Smart critters too. Very intelligent animals.
The Baytown Texas store was clogged with pallets on 'freight night' while they took their time stocking shelves. Had to move them to get to dog food and dodge them to get to cat food. Store manager (no name tag) said that is what his boss insisted on so no hope for change. I contacted Petco on internet and then called and was promised a call back that never came. Cannot wait for Petsmart to open and dump this unfriendly bunch of liars.
Petco needs to stop carrying saltwater fish. The staff barely has minimal knowledge on the care of such delicate animals. They have animals together in their tanks that eat one another in nature or otherwise cannot peacefully co-exist. The salinity in their tanks is always way too low. The light in the tanks is completely inadequate for the photosynthetic invertebrates they sell, if not sold, said animals die in a few days to a week. Lastly, EVERY time I go to Petco their entire stock of saltwater fish are always infested with White-Spot disease, otherwise known as Ick.
This was my first time ordering from Petco. My vet suggested a certain food my pup. I ordered the food which has to be shipped cold and gladly paid the $19.95 shipping fee. My order was supposed to arrive March 5. I still have not received it and have called customer service, the wait time was too long, and emailed customer service. Still no reply. I am disputing all charges.
Petco has ads all over the internet searches selling Renew Gold for horses at 24.04 and yet when you click on it to try to make the purchase Petco charges 36.99 instead. Even if you call customer service they tell you they can't sell it for 24.04 and they challenge you on where you saw their ad price, when told them I saved a screen shot of it and can send it to them then they tell you if you create an account with them you will get a discount equal to giving you the ad price. I created that account and the price still showed the higher price and the customer service person said there is nothing they can do except charge me the higher price and later send me a discount in a partial refund. I'm not stupid. No way are they getting me to click Buy Now at that price and trust them to adjust the price later.
I purchased a leather dog collar for my Boston at my local Petco store. It didn't fit. I didn't get back right away to exchange for a larger size because I traveled out of state and then came back and came down with COVID. When I returned approximately 45 days later, Petco refused to exchange the item for the larger size. All the tags were on it and I had the receipt. When I called corporate, they were unyielding and held to their "strict 30 day policy". I was sick for weeks and did not want to infect others. Petco just lost a customer. Clearly this company does not care about their customer base.
Petco site kept freezing, couldn't take order, Petco than locked me out and didn't send email with a code to open my account. Chat not helpful.
Attempts to call up by phone and order took a ridiculously long time... an hour for one order? Never again.
They have a large selection of products but the prices are expensive compared to other online pet stores. Other sites offer free shipping on all orders. I like to shop online but only if the prices are the same or less then my local store. I would not suggest shopping at Petco's online store.

Answer: It took them 8 days to ship my order & it arrived damaged. I called them for a replacement & that to was damaged. Called again & they asked if I wanted a refund & I told them no, I want what I ordered.
