Petco is the worst at grooming. I've taken my dog here for almost two years never had issues always listened. Last few times I've taken him they are not listening to me they barely cut his hair. I'm tired of paying $80 for an awful haircut. I WILL NOT BE BACK
I like that Petco offers return delivery service. It's convenient and I get a nice discount. However, it doesn't always honor price matches. So, I left my feedback on the website. One day later, I received an unexpected call from Petco apologizing it didn't offer me the price match. In turn, I got $20 worth of points I gladly used for a new order. So, after all it wasn't bad after all for me.
I have been a Petco customer for years. No more.
My local Petco did not have my dog food and the store ordered it on line, with a 2-3 day delivery. I paid in full by debit card. The food did not come, so I cancelled the order and returned to the store where it was back in stock.
Now Petco on line refuses to refund $34.99 for the order. I have spent way to long on the phone with a representative who wants my bank statement to prove I paid. I sent a single line from the statement as the rest contains personal information which is none of their business.
The whole situation is infuriating. Petco made an error and I have to prove they did. No longer is the customer correct.
Ordered a bunch of items on 4/4/16 for a cat that I will be getting on 4/10/16. Received order 4/8/16. Box was ripped and the litter box was missing. Called customer service and they offered to send another one but in 3 to 6 business days. I said that won't work and then they said they can expedite it but I can't get it any earlier than Tuesday. I ended up having to get a refund and now I have to go out and buy one. The problem here is is that they didn't care to resolve my problem. Bad business. Shop elsewhere please.
I called everywhere for male parakeets and they said they had them. When I get there they have no clue whether they we're male or female and worse yet they we're not handled at all. So it's been over 3 months and I can't even get near them. They should be handled by everyone so maybe you could have a pet instead of just a bird.
Great place for fish and aquariums! Employees are friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was when the store was understaffed and had to seek out help, but they did a great job when they were able to help me. I live an hour away from three different stores and always swing by when I'm in the area. Great selection of Bettas, aquatic plants and aquarium supplies. Will continue to shop at both the Springfield, MO and Rogers, AR stores!
We took our pet into petco for grooming, she came back to us worst then when we took her in. They anal deflate her without our consent now she has an infection we believe and acting and shivering and a little agitated where we can't touch her without her being aggressive. She is in pain. Of corse petco said they did nothing wrong. As well as having shave marks on her neck and torso they claim it was because of our a puppy and the other puppy has not been that aggressive towards her and her at times she had long hair. Now we need to take her to the vet to fine out what is wrong with her medically. We are not happy at all.
Many of my friends have recommended Petco to me for buying pet products. And that's why I was shocked when I had to face so many issues with one simple order. Summer was near so I thought I'd stock up on flea and tick preventatives so I ordered from Petco. Unfortunately, it took forever for the products to reach and upon contacting them, there was no proper response. I got really fed up because I had to call them every few days for the updates. Eventually, I gave up and ordered from another online store and got the products even before the ETA. When the order form Petco arrived, it was too late so I asked for a refund. But the customer care person talked in a very rude manner, denying to even refund my money! I had a horrible experience with this website and will never order again.
Its pretty slow but I've learned many new things there about animals I didn't know. My co workers are great people and funny, we are a great team of workers. I think the harest part about the job is when you try to inform people about the animals need and they simply don't care or working at the register and they found the item to be a different prices then it is. Petco thinks they can play with words. They offer Free Shipping... sure they do but if you live in Hawaii or Alaska they hit you with a HUGE 'SURCHARGE'. Technically it's not 'shipping' but it's still an extra cost to get anything delivered. Well I'm not stupid enough to fall for their play on words. They just lost all my online business and I order a lot of stuff. Now I'll order from Petsmart and pick up for 5% off! I'm sure Petsmart wants my $1K/month business.
I ordered birdseed from Petco online and it was delivered to someone on the other side of my city who had the same address number. The man who got the birdseed called Petco and told them and they instructed him to donate it and they would credit me which they never did. Instead this kind gentleman found me and we went to get the seed from him. I never ordered from them again-I feed every bird in a 20 mi radius, have 4 stray cats, 3 dogs and one inside cat. I could have single handedly kept Petco in business-no more.
I sometimes shop at Petco for my tropical fish and filters, light hoods, etc.
It seems that when they have fish on sale - they usually are out of stock of many that are on sale.
Their tanks are hooked up on a community filtration system which means if there are sick fish in one tank - then the whole section is exposed to the disease.
Sometimes they have good sales - but I'm usually too afraid to buy them because of the community filtration system. When I do buy them, I put them in a quarantine tank for at least a month.
Sometimes enough live to make it worth the price and other times, I have to save the dead fish and take them back for a refund or credit towards supplies.
The staff at PetCo in Council Bluffs, IA is delightful to visit. They make my visit feel very welcome and provide a wonderful shopping experience. They are friendly, personable, and knowledgable about their animals and products. They always make me laugh or smile, too, with their interesting anecdotes.
This is a must-shop store for everyone with a pet!

Theres no better place for dog-lovers and their dogs than petco. I like to go shopping with Marty once a month and buy him new toys, food and stuff. Theyre really kind and service is excellent. I love petco!
I had called petco customer service because my repeat delivery of dog food should have arrived since the money was taken out of my account and I got an email stating I was not going to be charged until it was back in stock. The person I spoke with told me they are out of stock of Merrick backcountry big game 20lbs bag. I was told they had the 10 pound bags in stock and they will do a 2 day rush delivery free of charge. So I paid for the 10 lb bag 5 days later I did not get the dog food and called the service number and was told the 10 lb bag is in back order. There should be no excuse for all this to go down the way it did. I'm disappointed in the failure of the service I received and disappointed in the repeat service.
They have right at the top of their online page, "$49, free shipping." There is no asterisk or small writing after it, no exclusions whatsoever. You have to click on the "free shipping" line in order to see that there are exclusions, but there is no indication that it is even a link or clickable.
However, after you fill out your order and all the information, you will not get free shipping unless it is on specific products. They are PURPOSELY hoping their customers add more products in order to get free shipping and then are too dumb to notice they're charging a shipping fee.
I had to EMAIL customer service to find out that there are exclusions. That's how hidden it is. They were totally unapologetic. They've lost me as a long-time customer.
There is this one lady at my local Yuba City CA store, she goes out of her way to help you.
Even gets you the best deals. She came up with a 5.00 off coupon on and already 50%off crate I was getting. The place is always clean, Your pets are welcome. Makes it nice to fit that little bitty dog that no one else carry's harness's that small. I do have to say they get a little pricy, But when you need it and they are the only one's that have it, I usually pay the price and don't complain. Ours does NOT sell puppies or kittens either. And they do allow the local no kill rescue groups once a month to use their facility in adopting out homeless pets. On application approvals. The place is Great for birds and fish, lots of supply's for just about everything with 2 or 4 legs or maybe more? Also with feathers or scales. If you haven't been there check it out. I just may see you there. Have fun look around.
I finally found a pet store that is so knowledgeable and the staff is so friendly. I tried pet supermarket, and petsmart. They never crack a smile or have no knowledge. The atmosphere is so cold. Kudos to petco! I will definitely do business with them again!
We have been faithful customers of Petco repeat delivery program for over 5 years! For the last 2 months they have chosen to cancel our order in favor of sending our bags of food to new customers. No doubt in hopes of snaring new fools to replace those of us who have wised up about their repugnant marketing strategy. But read more, their quality control is horrible. The smell differs from bag to bag with some having a distinctly rancid odor. And God help you if you try to work with what passes for customer service. They couldn't give you an honest answer if they wanted to, and they don't want to!

Answer: It took them 8 days to ship my order & it arrived damaged. I called them for a replacement & that to was damaged. Called again & they asked if I wanted a refund & I told them no, I want what I ordered.
