I ordered the XL size backpack from the Pottery Barn Teen site, expecting it to fit my teenage son who's starting 9th grade. Unfortunately, the XL is much smaller than expected — it makes an average-sized teenage boy look like Chris Farley in a little coat. Since we had the bag embroidered with a team logo only (no name or initials), I thought an exception might be possible. It's in brand-new condition and could easily be resold as is or personalized for another customer. However, my return request was denied almost immediately after I submitted photos to prove the condition. I paid $75 for a backpack we can't use. While I understand restrictions on returns for personalized items with names or initials, this policy feels overly rigid for a generic logo. If your child is over about age 8, I recommend double-checking the actual dimensions before purchasing. For older kids and teens, you may be better off with a sporting brand like Nike or Under Armour — often at half the price when on sale.
Save your money. Bed arrived with half the hardware over a week ago. They suggested putting it together that way! They overnighted the hardware…which took a week to arrive. They are still not giving us a date to put the bed together, will be days from now. My son has been sleeping on the floor and the bed is in pieces in our garage. They also severely damaged our wall on the delivery. Wish I could have saved the exorbitant cost and ordered from a competent store.
Stolen money. Stolen time. No one from actual management will address the many attempts to discuss what they have put our family through. My son waited for a 3K bed with a guaranteed delivery date before the end of November. In December it was "in transit" and then canceled by the company once in route…and after us staying home to receive the item which never arrived! Hours on the phone with people who do not care, whitewashing the situation and taking no responsibility and now here we are in late January with no bed AND no refund provided yet. I will never again do business with Pottery Barn or any affiliated company. It's disgusting beyond measure what they have put our family through and the greatest insult is that the people who can do something are hiding behind their desks pawning off all necessary communication to the underlings. By the way, if you work for them, you should go to any other company for your own personal health. What a disgrace.
I ordered a loft bed in October which was available for delivery per the website. After multiple delays and backorders it is now January and my loft bed was suppose to be delivered today. The truck shows up but with only 4 of 5 boxes. I am told they will have to search for the missing box which will take up to 3 days. There service and shipping is horrible and after paying a ton for the bed and extra for shipping this is ridiculous. I don't recommend you ordering from Potterybarn Teen unless you wait for several months and then sit around your house all day and only receive part of it.
Ordered an item from pottery barn. Was told free shipping if it's over $99. When I got to the screen to pay, it asked me how I wanted to pay. I chose Venmo and it automatically charged my card, and I got a thanks for your order! I didn't even know how much the total was until after. There's no way I missed it, I was ordering from my tiny phone screen. I realised I wasn't given the chance to even type in the promo code for the free shipping, or even told how much taxes would be. (and the shipping is expensive) I immediately tried to go cancel the order and resubmit it, but was told customer service was done for the day, and to call the next morning. I called as soon as I got up, and was told it was too late, order was already being prepared to ship. Well, now we are two days later and it is still "preparing to ship". When I try to reach out to customer service, they don't want to help you, they just respond with condescending answers and treat their customers like crap. Don't ever buy from them, I wish I never had. I've been a good customer to them too. They don't care.
I moved...and I took a very expensive loft bed with me. In the move I lost 2 small pieces of hardware. I contacted PBTeen just to order (at my cost) 2 replacement parts. They said they don't sell or have replacement parts. Mind you in the manual it says to CONTACT PBTEEN for replacement parts. They cant even tell me the darn specs of the little piece I nee so I can order it from a 3rd party. Over 3K for a bed and this is the support they provide. STAY AWAY!

I called a customer service number and talked with her on Dec13th and she assured me that the delivery would be between 14th thru 19th and I would have it. When it did not come I called back and spoke to Brianna at 6:00 pm on the 19th. She said that it was at the hub? So she then told me that it would ship January 6th? THIS IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE ONE IT WAS IN STOCK, TWO IT WAS NOT EVEN SHIPPED OUT ON THE 28TH LIKE IT SAID AND THREE THIS WAS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT SO WHAT THE ***** WOULD I STILL WANT IT AFTER THE FACT? I WILL NEVER PURCHASE AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TELLING THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH OR COME IN TOUCH WITH NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM THEY SIMPLY DO NOT CARE! Placed an order for ornaments and right after ordering saw the $20 shipping charge for 2 Christmas ornaments! Went right away to cancel my order but there was no option to do so when many sites have that option for an hour after ordering. Emailed right away and it took them a week to respond (48h advertised). And there, no surprise, can't help, no refund of shipping. It's a large company and they charge a lot for the smallest thing. They should offer free shipping. Won't ever use again
I placed an order for a new bed, the Avalon for my daughter. The estimated delivery date was 10 days. Upon delivery within the 10 day window, the delivery company brought only the bed slats but not the headboard. The delivery company called Pottery Barn and advised that the headboard would be delivered the following week. I allowed them to leave the multiple large boxes of bedding parts in my daughter's room till the delivery of the headboard the following week. Long story short, the head board delivery never arrived! I have been waiting since July 16th, today is Sept 14th and no headboard! The delivery had been postponed at least 5 times! They cannot even tell me with any certainty when it will arrive. At this point, I called them and asked them to pick up the huge boxes with bed parts they left in my home, which take up so much needed space. They weren't even apologetic. Seriously, they didn't even care! I expected so much more from a company that claims to sell top notch furnishings. I will not purchase any of their products going forward.
I called the customer service line that was answered by a west elm agent to find out why my package was delayed. She couldn't be more unhelpful and when I asked why it was slow considering I paid $35 for shipping (where most retailers would've included it) she audibly laughed and hung up. Worst call experience ever and now I see these reviews it's obvious I'm not alone. What a joke.
We purchased a loft bed for my son's dorm room. Carefully researched PB delivery options and opted and paid for the white glove delivery so the bed could be delivered to the room and assembled. Big Surprise when they delivered and got the person receiving on our behalf to opt for no assembly...feel like a massive rip off track. Who on earth would pay to have a loft,bed,desk delivered to a dorm room and then not have it assembled? Seriously slippery delivery tactics by Jose, the driver. Not Impressed! Most unhelpful customer service person (Christine) who couldn't be LESS HELPFUL if she tried. Nothing PB will do...
For the second year in a row I have ordered items that are in stock only to find out on my own that said items are backordered. PB never notified me. I found out when I tried to track my order. The delivery date kept being pushed back- again without any notice to me. I had to find this out on my own. The reps could not help me. They said they have no control over shipping and have no additional information to share other than what is written on the website. I find that hard to believe about not having more information but ultimately it does not matter because they did nothing to make the situation better. The worst part is that they are still taking orders on the very item that is on backorder. The website says it's in stock and gives a delivery date. I am thoroughly disappointed with PB. They cannot be trusted. They take people's money without delivering the product in a timely fashion. The reps try to convince you to keep waiting with a possibility of them giving you some credit after you receive your order. I have learned my lesson. DO NOT SHOP AT POTTERY BARN TEEN online. They deserve no stars.
I wanted to leave a positive review and, although phone staff made a serious effort to help, supervisor did not support my return of $70 bean bag cover in spite of my purchasing 3 bean bags ($600) and wanting to purchase a different bean bag cover. Final purchase. NO EXCEPTIONS! Not any single exception possible. You would think as a large company they would be generous. Not even close. Overpriced, not exceptional in any way. Never getting my business again.
We placed a major order with Pottery Barn Teen and went weeks with no follow-up. When we checked our order status, we saw that the delivery date window had been pushed out by three weeks. When we tried to find out why we weren't notified and when we could deliver several thousand dollars worth of furniture, the "customer support" (I use this term loosely) hung up on me.
I'd rather sit on a fire ant hill than deal with this company.

Purchased a Papasan lounge chair that looked nice on the website. The base of the chair came within a week. The cushion, after contacting the company twice) came after 30 days from date of ordering it. I was happy to receive it only to find out that it was defective in a big way, so not usable at all. On-line Pottery Barn Teen has a nice look but the merchandise is very low quality. The company appears to have no soul and only interested in your dollar but unable to deliver quality. I received no communication whatsoever about the delay of the order and have to spend hours in chats and on the phone to schedule a return. One of the worst experiences in e-commerce ever. Please don't purchase from pottery barn teen. My rating for this company is zero.
We ordered 2 beds that were supposed to be here in November and we're scheduled for delivery today 4/20/23 when they got her they were missing three pieces of the beds and wouldn't even bring the pieces they brought upstairs like they were supposed to make things worse this was also for a client whose 2 children have been sleeping on a mattress on the floor due to a bedroom remodel since November I hope this entire company goes out of business I will never use them again
I was trying to buy a sectional couch. After a pretty strange experience on their website (products wouldn't show out of stock until you try to order it!), we finally found one that was in stock. We pay for it, it is ordered, and there is a delay in shipping (twice). We finally get it and are excited. It's a sectional, but instead of the end-piece, they deliver a WOODEN CHAIR in place of it. The delivery guys are very apologetic and say "this happens more often than you think". The customer service people are really horrible (no apology, and are insinuating we aren't telling the truth, even though their delivery people are still at our house validating what happened). Anyways, they tell us that there is nothing they can do as they don't make the couch anymore (gee, I guess we go the last one. Or 3/4ths of the last one). So we order a different couch. THe delivery day comes and goes. We call, and they indicate a week delay. We call a week later, and they now say it's month delay. A month goes by and we call again today. They say "sir, it clearly states on the website it's not available yet". I ask what am I supposed to do if they just keep delaying the order. They tell me to cancel the order. I tell them I still want the product, but I want to know if they can find out from the manufacturer more information on the delay. Again, he tells me to cancel the order if I don't like the process. I felt like I was talking to a grumpy 16 year-old kid with an attitude problem. I absolutely despise this company and hope their stock price continues to fall.
Pottery Barn Teen experience was bad. Basically visited the store in costa mesa, they basically placed the order online for us while in the store they separated the order when we specifically said to ship as one. We found out color and look wasn't going to work, tried to correct it by changing this out overall nothing worked out so returned most of it before anything was shipped. Anyways the returning agent assured me that all would be refunded and turns out I was shorted $200 due to internal shipping between hubs. Not a big deal if they had let me know previously but anyways. Products at pottery barn are way over priced their customer service is bad and the attitude on these agents... anyways never gonna purchase from Potterybarn and the likes. Got a better product from Crate and Barrel for like a 1/4 of the price so definitely disappointed with this whole experience with PB.
I ordered a 1800$ dresser for my daughter and paid 300$ shipping to get a damaged dresser! They offered 200$ off if I keep it or they will send me a new one. I chose to get a new one since the metal leg of the dresser was dented and it shows. I was scheduled to get a new dresser a month after. The night before delivery I had to empty the dresser and we had to wake up at 7 in the morning on a Saturday since the delivery was at 7:30 in the morning, no big deal as long as we will get a good dresser. To our surprise the new dresser was also damaged, so we had to schedule a new delivery for a new dresser! A month after and the same headache, empty the old dresser and wake up early in the morning to get a damaged dresser again! Talked to customer service and again offered 200$ to keep the same damaged dresser or return! Seriously after selling my old dresser I have to return the dresser and look for a new one since you cannot send a good dresser which is worth 1800$. Anyways we scheduled a new delivery after two weeks which is today, the driver called 7 in the morning for the delivery, we woke up and waited for him, he parked next to our house and then left! He didn't even explain why did he leave, we called him and never answered! We called the delivery company and they explained that he thinks that our driveway is slippery due to a small amount of snow! Ok I understand, why didn't he just called and explained that to us so we may clean any snow from over night knowing that the driveway was cleaned the day before! That's ridiculous, I will never order from this company any more! Very bad customer service and medium quality furniture for high prices! Don't be tricked by their high prices, go buy from other places!
The item I ordered for a Christmas gift did not come in its entirety. Multiple calls and attempts to receive the full item resulted in a return process for a refund, since the entire item was never even in stock. I was able to reach someone to schedule a UPS pickup so the driver could scan the printable code and prevent me from driving over an hour and a half to accomplish this. When I contacted customer service AGAIN to ask for a label to be mailed or a new UPS time for pickup I was hung up on! I am now on hold AGAIN and if anyone picks up I'll be shocked. Hours and hours into this to make it right and they still have all of my money for a sham item listing!
Answer: I would not do that, try money order then you have a receit!
