Used Optumrx because I was having so much trouble with pharmacy getting medication. Optumrx proved to be the worst ever. Lied to me about paying cash for a scrip because they couldn't resolve an issue costing me over $500. Every month they screwed up my scripts. Moved to another insurance from Optum RX and AARP/United Health care. All three of them are not worth giving the time of day. They make it MUCH more difficult; as a senior I feel they should be ashamed of themselves.
This is the worst pharmacy you will ever encounter in your life: Untrained staff, extremely long wait time for a prescription to be processed and mailed to you, a poorly designed website and phone app. If you have a choice to go with a different pharmacy, go with that pharmacy and you still will be better off in terms of customer experience! Or you can use GoodRX and will have a pharmacy of your choice, but stay away from OptumRX.
I can't believe we are forced to use a mail order pharmacy for medication and a company takes weeks to effectively fill a medication. I called and complained with NO RESPONSE or care. When there is a monopoly with pharmacies they don't care to return calls because they know they OWN the business so happy customers don't
Matter. Our government needs to change! We should have a choice and be able to go to our own pharmacy and get the medication needed. Not deal with incompetence causing delays to medication and causing exacerbation of
Symptoms. Makes NO SENSE!
I have had so many issues with OptumRx. They just charged my card for an order I did not place (i. E. I never authorized them to charge me anything). I even called to cancel BEFORE they charged me and the customer service agent told me they cancelled the order, but apparently not. This is the second time they have charged me money I did not authorize and last time I filed a complaint with BBB (which I won). They have also shipped my medication to the wrong address and currently I can't get my medication from a pharmacy because of this order they didn't actually cancel (meaning I am going to run out of my medication today). And on top of all that, they charge more for medications than the last prescription company I had. In some cases, it's cheaper to buy with a coupon instead of insurance. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
I receive more phone calls and text messages from optumRX than I do from my family members. Every person you talk to pretends that you are there best friend and that you want to spend your time talking to them. I tried for two years to have them stop calling me so much but nothing I said kept my phone from ringing. I highly recommend trying to find a pharmacy that respects your time, knows how to contact your doctor and not you and one that can get your meds to you in a timely manner. I can honestly say optmum Rx is not that company!
People need competent pharmacuetical companies for their medication and not a company that will both place their lives and financial livelyhood in grave danger. OPTUM pharmacy is not reliable. United Healthcare should not do business with this company. This is an extremely bad company. They never let you speak to the manager when you call customer service and you can be on hold or given the run around for hours waiting on the phone. The customer service is extremely BAD.Lots of people their who barely speak understandable English and who have no idea what they are doing. This agency needs to be regulated.
I am transferring all my medications to my local pharmacy because I just can't depend on OptumRX at all. They not only screw it all up they can;'t get their stories straight about the problem and continue to screw it up.
So far, my doctor has called twice to start delivery of Xolair. One of those times, I was in the room while they organized the delivery to their office so I can begin my shots.
Well, there was no record. That means I have to call and expedite... In my military tone.
Two calls by myself... The medicine is still not being sent out.
I have had UHC / OptumRx off and on since 1989 and quality has never changed; absolute garbage service. Inevitably, I am now averaging 6 to 7 phone calls, per month, yelling at these idiots to process the order and deliver the medicine to my doctor's office so I don't end up in the Emergency Room for anaphylactic shock. Explaining my condition to these idiots doesn't matter, it doesn't expedite the medicine.
If I end up in a grave medical condition, I've instructed my wife to present a log of all the calls w/ recordings to the State of Ohio Attorney General to investigate UHC / OptumRx.
Experiencing the most horrible service from Optum Rx after my husband's union switched insurance plans on us July 1. The website provides false pricing, then charges your card a higher price -- bait-and-switch? No one can explain why. My husband specifically deleted his CC# and they charged it anyway! They also claim his plan covers a Brand Rx...but not its generic? What a load of BS. Hours already spent going in circles with this and Optum Rx -- and have discovered we can buy his meds CHEAPER WITH NO INSURANCE AT ALL than going through this so-called pharmacy. Optum Rx needs to go down.
I had to on Permanent disability because of my mental health. I see a therapist and psychiatrist. I go on Medicaire after 2 years. I was informed my Dr's that I owed thousands of dollars. As it turns out, Optum only covers 30 visits in 2 years until my Medicaire kicks in. This is insane, to deny my treatment could be fatal. Shame on them, there never notified me of this horrible policy. I need my therapy and psych and because they never told me, I now owe over 1000$ to do this to a disabled person is horrible and heartless. I hope they get sued, shake on them. I worked in Union 28 years and this is what get?
I am furious. About 6 months ago I was dxed with a mental health condition after years of struggling. I was responding well to treatment using two different prescriptions. And now Optumrx says I'm wrong and need to see a specialist to be diagnosed before they will accept. A psychiatrist? 10 bucks says they will deny they ever authorized me to go to the specialist. This is a money grab, plain and simple. Confuse the patients and deny they ever need medication. Give them the runaround until they give up, get sick and die.
They have no idea what they are doing. Every person I spoke with quoted me a different copay for the same medication. Sometimes in the span of 10 mins. They also have no idea what medication is covered by my plan because that changed with each person I spoke with. Wound up going with GoodRx. OptumRx is not worth the hassle.
I absolutely loathe UHC/OptumRx.
Firstly, nobody who has insurance should have to pay over $500 for a prescription.
Hell nobody should, but I already pay for insurance.
Second - their customer service is the worst.
Their CS rep screwed up and overcharged me (blaming it on "the system" lady, I can see that you charged me twice for one of the medications. You screwed up. Not the system) So they call me at 8:15pm leave a message that they had to cancel that order, and they need my authorization to charge my card again.
The first charge? Still on my card.
So they want me to authorize ANOTHER $600 charge, when the first one hasn't even been credited?
Inept doesn't even begin to address how awful they are.
Because I work in a Long Term Care Pharmacy, I, unfortunately have to deal with them a lot and they are no help whatsoever. The technicians are rude and have no clue on how to answer my questions or you get a different answer every time you call. We are supposed to fill out a form and submit to Provider Relations. The form is a waste of time! It shouldnt take months and months to get answers regarding invalid copay reimbursement for Low Income Subsidy residents in Long Term Care.
After 7 calls about 1 medication to this incompetent company, I have given up. Health insurance companies should stop partnering with OptumRx. They cannot get it right for nothing and it's really despicable. Rather buy meds from the street. Wish there was a half star or no stars at all!
Lost prescriptions, lies about calling my doctor when they didn't, lies about shipping times and substantial delays, lies about stock only for me to find out they don't have my medication, and finally sent me the wrong prescription (length and amount) and told me that "that is the prescription we received from your doctor), it wasn't. And let me just say that, that last one has got to be a serious offense on their end. Lying about the prescription my doctor told me... really?
When you ask to be transferred to a supervisor, they will keep bouncing you around other team members. I talked to a supervisor once who told me that a manager would call me who never did.
Here are some names of the people I talked to:
Venus
Lidi (Livi)?
And to top it all off, they will not transfer you to the survey at the end of the phone call which you agree to earlier.
In case my insurance (United or Cigna) sees this, YOU CAN DO BETTER!
I was told that my prescription was changed to "over the counter". I have been denied refills from Optum Rx. The prescription is a critical prescription because of a very rare blood disorder that I have. Optum Rx said that my prescription is canceled. I must buy it over the counter. Only problem, they will not give me an over the counter sale of the prescription! NO ONE from Optum Rx has reached out to me to help. Basically, I feel they are telling me to go die. Shovel ready medicine at work!
This company is full of lies and deceptive in every way posable. I have never had a deductible for Chantex and even was able to get a 90 day supply. Just went to get it refilled and only would fill for 30 days and have $80.00 copay. I was told by my pharmacist that if I would had gone to CVS I would have gotten a 90 day refill for $80.00 copay. By the way the closest CVS is about 40 miles away. Another example of insurance companies and their management companies putting the screws to people.
I used Briova for one drug and every time I needed to renew the same prescription I had to confirm the cost, which was always zero copay. When the name changed I was worried the support would change and it did. My last 30 day supply was called in by me after Optum called me directly. I called back and asked for the price and they confirmed it was zero. Now they billed my on file credit card without my approval for over $1000. 00 for a one month supply. I asked for my records to prove I have never paid for this and they cannot supply me with documentation. I am shocked because they will not refund me my money. I did not use the prescription but they will not take it back. Very perplexed by their service and how many hours I have spent trying to correct this mess.
They stopped covering my medication during treatment! If I stop. Cold turkey.it can be leathal! They have a policy to change your coverage at any time to not cover your. Medication! USE ANYONE. ELSE DO NOT USE THEM!
Answer: They are a legitimate pharmacy benefits manager for United Healthcare, but their prices and practices leave alot to be desired.
Answer: Don't hold your breath - they are all about money - not customer service
Answer: You can send them a message on their website which they won't even read for days, so it's a useless feature. You can also call them at 1 (800) 356-3477 and sit on hold for 10 minutes before getting a person to talk to. In my experience, calling them has never resolved whatever issue I'm calling about, but you can talk to someone.
Answer: Only bad part of this united plan. Optum is worse than poor. They misplace Rx's and then lie
