I tried to book a flight with Opodo.
The booking seemed to fail; no notifications, no booking reference - NOTHING.
But... I still got charged for the cost of the flight.
As I had no booking number, I couldn't contact Opodo AT ALL and neither could I cancel the flight.
I will NEVER use them again.
In the beginning, I was using skyscanner to find airplane ticket. At the cheapest search I found was offered by opodo. At the same time, their advertisement was so tricky that it was very obvious on the right and changed destination according to my search in skyscanner. Also, you will get the same results either you click the select button or advertisement logo. The only difference is the price is a couple pounds cheaper by using the advertisement link. I thought opodo is quite clever and try to take advantage from skyscanner and I tried to book it because of the two pounds cheaper. However, at the final payment, it charged extra £2.2 x 2 + £4.7 x 2 for using card. Whatever, every website will charge a bit different, just only this 8% is a bit more than the others. After the payment, I received the confirmation e-mail which is different from the date of the flight I finally chose. After I contact them through e-mail, they asked me to provide screen shot in order to investigate. So, they don't need to investigate their problem because I didn't take screen shot. They also put error message to temporarily fix the bug. I suggest to avoid this website.
So I am meant to be flying to Germany to see my best friend have her baby. I stupidly decided to book with Opodo. Their website advertised a flight From Frankfurt International Airport to London City airport. Everything seemed fine so far however when I went to check myself on-line, I saw that they had actually given me a ticket from Frankfurt Hahnn Airport to Stansted. Both airports being miles away from where I actually am.
I spent over 2 hours on hold to 4 different members of the customer services team for them to tell me that there is nothing that they can do. The airline that they have booked my flights with only fly from Frankfurt Hahnn to Stansted. There is no way that they can change my flight and the refund will take up to 14 working days, leaving me stuck in Germany.
Not only have they broken trading standards and my rights as a consumer by Advertising a product and providing something else, I was talked down and spoken rudely too. This is possible the worst customer service I have ever experienced and would like to advise never to book with them. Their customer service skills are absolutely appalling and I am meant to be flying out in two days with no no way back unless I pay over 100 pounds for their mistake which they refuse to acknowledge
WARNING never book anything with opodo/edreams they are the biggest scammers thieves liars out there you can never contact them once they have your money and you will never get refunded when airline cancel flights if you are thinking of using opodo/edreams please listen to my advice and NEVER USE THEM i lost my money
This is the worst service I ever received. I will never again do a business with you Opodo. I booked a holiday in march due to Covid19 we were unable to go I am still waiting for our money back!
Although Opodo is supposed to be famous and trustworthy company, in fact, it is not! Already for over 3 months I am waiting for my promised refund!
As my flight (Ref: *******248 [**************]) has been cancelled 2 weeks before the due date, Opodo has contacted me and asked whether I would like to get a refund or would prefer to get another ticket. On 12 October 2017, I have replied that I would prefer to get the refund (please note, not even the full refund!). Opodo Customer Service has informed me that the money should appear in my account within the next 30-90 days. After the 42nd day since my requested refund past, I have sent a mail to Opodo Customer Service to get an update about the status of my requested refund. Of course, nobody has contacted me from the Customer Service of Opodo and I did not get any information about my inquiry. As 90 days since my request have passed, I have tried to contact Customer Service again. All what I got as a reply was that my inquiry is being processed and the money will be returned within the next 3 months.
It is already clear to me that Opodo is not going to return the money, therefore I would like to share my experience and warn others to never use Opodo if you do not wish to loose your money!

Scammed out of £934... No reference numbers, No Booking Nothing! When I contacted them about withdrawing my money with no booking they deny having my money and want me to send my bank statement to prove it! They actually asked me did i have another bank card and they would try and process it again! IM SURE THEY WOULD! To STEAL another £934!

I have paid luggage to go from Bordeaux to Sydney and wished your employee would have understood that when you travel you EXPECT your luggage of course to go to the final destination and not stop in China...

Terrible experience. Had my flight confirmed by Opodo and once getting into the airport I was left grounded because the air company didn't have the booking confirmed
I used them for booking because friends I was travelling with did. Will never use them again. I could not check in online. I kept getting automatic email requests to check in for a flight I did not book and that did not exit (!). The booking codes for the flights in my confirmation email were invalid. I could not write to Opodo as the only option is to use chat via Facebook and I do not want to give them access to my FB pages. I had to call Opodo UK number from abroad. They told me they cannot check me in and I had to check in in person at the airport. So I got quite worried and asked why the airline code and flight numbers could not be found anywhere, including on the airport site. They could not explain and would not offer any other help. In the end, it turned out they used yet another third agency for part of the booking. I had to call that other agency and was told: Opodo sent me wrong booking codes and wrong flight numbers. I was able to get help from this other air service in the end and check in. But had I just shown up at the airport, I would have been very likely denied boarding and lost my flight. Will never ever use these guys. Really shoddy and sloppy, to say nothing of the customer service.

I went on skyscanner and checked a flight. Opodo came up as the cheapest with the flight times we were most interested in. It linked us to the Opodo website. It showed us the same price. We clicked through, put in our details, still showing the same price. Just before we were asked to put in our payment details (Which up until now we were VERY happy to do so), Opodo in very small print up the top of the website stated "price has increased due to real time price changes". This would have been acceptable IF I did not refresh the website and try again and the original cheaper price was again displayed. I also tried on another ISP and the original cheaper price was displayed, however, each time we go through to the payment details Opodo has increased the fares by £33.50.
This is totally unacceptable and I will be spreading the word about this unacceptable ripping off of customers. Do you not know that the internet is available for reviews of companies such as yours who tries to scam every little dollar from unsuspecting customers? I will be posting this review to every review site I can find.

DO NOT USE OPODO!
I have called customer services to edit the name on my flight over 10 times, over 12 days, totalling over 3 hours on the phone and the problem has still not been resolved.
I have been lied to numerous times, I have been 'promised' return calls and never received them, I have had agents disconnect my calls whilst I was speaking.
Please do not book with Opodo, the customer service is the worst I have EVER experienced.

[1:47 pm, 26/06/2022] Tristan Moffat Personal: No wonder Opodo doesn't allow people to write reviews on their Facebook page, censors comments and hides their google reviews etc. Look at how many people on Opodos Facebook posts are liking their posts with angry faces in protest. In short this is because Opodo should not be keeping 20% "excess fees" for people who have had their flights cancelled by airline operators like British Airways as Opodo did with mine. This is totally immoral and unethical and is a practice you should give up immediately if you don't want to keep upsetting people to the point, they never want to use you ever again and are telling all of their friends never to use Opodo. Absolutely disgusting, profiteering and awful practice from Opodo. Opodo just ignore complaints and send generic responses back to genuine complaints. AVOID THIS COMPANY!
I had my flight cancelled by BA days after booking it and Opodo kept £191.74 excess fee for mediation. I had my flight cancelled by BA and I had to pay nearly two hundred pounds for the pleasure, how is that fair.
Now they are just ignoring me. I will mount a legal challenge and be contacting national press to spread the word about what corrupt and quite frankly morally bankrupt operation this is. They just don't care!
To be honest, its not the money, it is the principle of the matter here. This is simply not fair or right!
Booked a flight. They email to say there's an amendment but don't say what. I follow the link - everything looks fine. I ask them to clarify what the amendment is. They reply with the original non specific email. I call. They say 'oh yes, flight is cancelled'. I ask what would have happened if I hadn't called. The guy says 'well you know now'. I push him for a more reasonable response. Guy says 'I'm telling you now'. I'm a bit enraged by this point. Guy says 'we're not going to refund you now'. Used them earlier in the day to book a flight (yes price went up right at the point of purchase) - OK - accepted - booked. Get an email with 'we're processing your booking - we'll send you an email within 24 hours'. Flight is the following morning. I call. They say 'ah yes we're a travel agency we won't be able to process it in time - better we cancel it'. Who's ever heard of that? Just avoid Opodo - and I speak from experience of using lots of online companies to book travel with - rarely any problems.

NEVER EVER BOOK WITH OPODO. THEY ARE THIEVES. God forbid you ever have issue with your ticket (such as airline cancelling the flight etc). You will never ever be able to reach the customer service. They will charge you vague 'service' charges you never agreed to or were aware off. And you will never see your money back. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY STILL HAVE BUSINESS AND WHY CUSTOMER WATCH DOG DOES NOT PENALIZE THEM.
We booked a Ryan air flight with opodo INCLUDING bags. When we arrived at check-in the bags we paid for weren't registered. Ryan air said this happens all the time with Opodo (they keep the bag money). We had to re-pay for bags at customer service, the delay was massive, we were travelling with children and almost missed our flight.
I spent 1 hour on the phone with opodo sorting this out being charged by the minute, 10 days later they still haven't refunded the full amount to us.
The would NEVER RECOMMEND OPODO or travel with them again.

I booked this flight transaction via your website on 2 March 2015 and my email confirmation stated a total price of GBP £291.33 for this transaction, made up of £139.96 for the London-Ancona outward flight, £99.29 from the Ancona-London return flight and £52.08 for your Opodo handling fee. Today I noticed in my bank account that there had been a payment taken of £105.55 for the return flight. Neither Opodo nor Ryan Air sought my approval for this extra payment. When I raised this with Paula Juan this morning at Opodo she advised me that her manager was unavailable to speak to me and that I should write a complaint on the Opodo website and take up the matter with Ryan Air. I consider that Opodo's misrepresentation of the price of my flight and Opodo's removal of money from my debit card without my approval to be dishonest and fraudulent, and I seek immediate recompense, both for the money taken without permission, and the cost of my telephone charges this morning in seeking to achieve a refund.
I am raising this matter with Ealing Borough Councils Trading Standards Officer, the fraud/disputes department of my bank and IATA. Having researched Opodo this morning I have discovered numerous complaints about your customer service.
Answer: Guys, it would only cost you about £40 to take them to small claims court. Dont just take the loss, these people need to be held to account. Id also contact Rip Off Britain to get a programme made about their tactics
Answer: You can complain all you like but once they have your money they dont give a tinkers cuss. Best form of complaint is social media like this site and face book.
