Abusive, non-transparent, unclear, hidden way to trick customers into buying the premium annual subscription.
Also there is no way mentioned in the emails of how to cancel the subscription. This is forcefully triciking customers into spending on unwanted services.
Avoid! Opodo provide old terms and conditions and I was forced to purchase extra insurance - that costed me 274£. I was told by Opodo customer advisor that I can claim it back as it was obvious mistake made by Opodo. Service provider informed Opodo couple of months earlier about changes but they didn't update t&c. Horrible customer service.

Booked a £459 3 night stay in the Philippines,when I got to the hotel,the receptionist told me the hotel was full and had never even heard of Opodo!
Not only that Opodo took £89 from my account for Prime membership!
After numerous phone calls to an English number,I was promised a full refund within 72 hours! I even phoned back to make sure and was told a full refund would be paid for the hotel booking.
It is now 11 days later,I am home,no refund and still fighting to get it!
Also I have had heated conversation with Opodo Prime,they have told me that I cannot have my money back as being a Prime member,I had £120 off my hotel booking! A hotel booking that was never made!

Opodo messed up my booking by not including hold luggage when I had paid for it. I was told to pay for it at the airport and claim it back. I have been trying to get my refund now for 4 months! I even got an email in November saying that my refund would be made in 10 days but still nothing. Their "Customer Service" is shocking and I will NEVER deal with them again and suggest you avoid too

If you are answered by operator Sunama - put the phone down and try again until you get someone else - I phoned in today to cancel my Opodo Prime membership before the 15 day free trial period ended.
I thought I had specifically explained that I wanted to cancel the subscription and cancel the direct debit. Then I received an email she had taken £44.99 out of my account. Maybe they use foreign call centres on purpose to trick people with their broken English and fast talking to trick people into something they specifically did not want🤔🤔🤔🤔. Plus the next day they took another £69.99 out of my account 🤬🤬🤬

It would have been a good idea to have read some reviews before choosing them. I didn't. I choose them because of the price. Big mistake. Finally I have paid more, not mentioning horrible interaction with their so-called "customer service". In few words, for arcane reasons they failed to perform online check-in on my behalf for the return flight and airline company charged me 50 euros, peanuts comparing to what you can find reading other reviews. No answer to my complaint until I decided to write a review. And the answer was almost funny, they pretend it was my mistake as I didn't contact them before flights, completely false statement. Take care guys, with Opodo cheaper can mean more expensive, not mentioning complete lack of concern regarding customers.
Appalling. They just robbed me of £70 for an account I haven't used since 2022 which auto-renews. I called to cancel and get a refund as soon as I got the email, and they said it's impossible to refund. Absolute joke. The person on the phone was awfully disrespectful to me and spoke to me like I was an idiot when they are not following basic rules that literally every other subscription company uses: send an email a few days before auto-renewal to allow people to cancel. I have never seen such appalling customer service.
I recently used Opodo in June and despite cancelling the trial over the phone 10 days before the expiration date, Opodo took the full charge for a prime subscription from my card and now refusing to refund stating it is my issue.
The customer service has been appalling, I have had to send chaser after chaser emails as when you speak to the team on the phone you are made out to feel like a liar and guaranteed an investigation to get a phone call back within 2-3 days from management level. I am still awaiting this phone call.
If they actually listen to the recording its is very clear that I did in fact cancel and a refund is indeed required, but they are quite happy now that they have the money in their account to ignore any facts or information sent to them and pass off the blame as mine.
Be very cautious if using this company I would not recommed!
The tickets that I've bought through them required checkin in personally in the airport causing a major time waisting. The prime membership contact center agents are just useless, they don't posses necessary information and always try to lie their way out of the situation. Really really bad experience

Hi, I recently purchased a car hire via Opodo. The discount offered was a prime price. It was only until I received my bank statement that I realised that I'd joined their 'Prime' service!
I've just come off the phone to cancel the membership as I feel this is an unethical practice, as if you add the fee to the car hire it would have costed more... Just go to the car hire company direct and avoid this poor service.
Interestingly once you've put your credit card details on their website you have to phone up to cancel.!

I bought ticket from London to Istanbul 11/07/24 so I gave them my credit card details for ticket prices so next day they used my credit card details for £89.99 prime member cost with out my permission, I called them and explained to situation so they only said sorry, didn't pay my money back, I will go to for my legal right.
My strong advice, stay away from opodo company because they can use your credit card details with out your permission.

Cancelled subscription 3 months prior to renewal by phone. Customer service kept informing us of all the benefits. After 60 minutes on the phone, insisting we wanted to cancel. They agreed. Also cancelled subscription via their website. In June they took a renewal payment (even though cancelled subscription!)
Have now spent over 5 hours (over the course of 6 phone calls) attempting to get a refund and been told every time to wait 72 hours and I should receive refund. Nothing received!
Worst customer service, terrible customer care, highly advise anyone NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY!

We booked a "flexible" Ticket which says that you can change flight date etc. anytime. Once I changed the flight date, they told me I need to pay 321 EUR more cause we need to pay "change fee" -> VERY FLEXIBLE

Do not use company opodo, with them easily and quickly only during the sales stage. Further, they only imitate customer assistance. If you have problems through no fault of your own, you cannot contact them, either by e-mail or by phone, their website is useless just to spend time. The airline I was supposed to fly cancelled the flight and sent a refund of €353 opodo 15 days ago. Opodo has not yet transferred money to my account, this is just a deception used on the Internet
The worst customers service. 11 times I was promised a reply whether my reservation can or can not be changed. The company ignores all the requests and question in most horrible way. My phone number was blocked from calling and chat service replied in the same "copy paste" answers promising multiple times the exact time they would come back to me with answer. They never did. 11 times they failed their promise. I even spoke with supervisors which did nothing but empty promises.
I am utterly disgusted with the abysmal service provided by Opodo. Since September, I have been waiting for a refund without any proactive communication from their end. It is infuriating that I am consistently the one reaching out for updates, and each time I do, I am met with the same excuse that they are waiting for the airline to respond.
The sheer lack of effort on Opodo's part to chase the airline for my refund is mind-boggling. It appears that they are content with sitting on their hands, leaving me in the dark and frustrated. I expected a travel company to take responsibility and actively pursue resolution, but Opodo has fallen far short of that standard.
This experience has been a complete letdown, and I will not tolerate such negligence. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Opodo. Their customer service is a sham, and I would strongly advise against using their services.
They lied to our credit card company claiming behind our back that the transaction was made in Barcelona or / and in Euros. In reality we made a purchase in US Dollars in USA, not on any banana republic website or obscure currency. That's pure fraud. They try to grab 3% from you guys using the credit card company as a shield. Smart but dirty. Let's put these people out of business.

8 months ago I booked an airline ticket Melbourne to Europe return and got conformation from Opodo for premium economy.
Yesterday they send an email thats states economy.
I call, premium is full it's economy now, they say?

Answer: Guys, it would only cost you about £40 to take them to small claims court. Dont just take the loss, these people need to be held to account. Id also contact Rip Off Britain to get a programme made about their tactics
