We booked with Opodo as we wanted to book with different airlines to and from our destination due to more favourable flight times. One of the airlines for return cancelled the flight time and said we could book on a different time but needed to do this with Opodo as they were our booking agent - made sense to us. Opodo said they could not do this - I still don't understand why, but after a lot of trying to solve the issue we ended up cancelling our whole booking with them so we could then rebook the flights directly with the airlines. We were told we were entitled to 80% refund - we got about 60% back and gave up trying to recover the remaining 20% as it would have cost us more in phone calls to them in order to put pressure on them for this - they used all sorts of excuses like an error in currency rate etc. etc. So that was our first and only time of using Opodo - our advice to anyone thinking to use this website is PLEASE DON'T USE OPODO, you will most likely be ripped off. We've learnt our lesson.
I had bad experience confirms that I would never try Opodo again. I accidentally signed up for Prime membership in January 2023, and despite my attempts to cancel it shortly after, the payment went through and couldn't be refunded due to the 30-day limit. Recently, I discovered that the membership renewal charge of £70 was deducted from my account. When I contacted customer service to request a refund, I was only refunded £50 and given a voucher, which I find unacceptable. The customer service representative, Dana, repeatedly asked if I could hear her due to poor connection, making the experience even more frustrating. It's disappointing that the company's terms and conditions prevent full refunds for customers in situations like mine.

Beware! This is a ripoff! I booked a return flight from London (coming from Canada) to Manchester as my mother was placed on end of life and with the understanding I could cancel the return flight depending on how things went. Sadly my mother passed away and I needed to cancel my return flight. I Was unable to do this on the app. And forced to chat with on online chat person as I didn't have the option to call them from my mobile being out of country. I was on chat for about 40 minutes, constantly waiting on hold, only to be told that british airways refused to grant the refund? I didn't book thru british airways I booked thru opodo for the one reason I was told I could change or cancel 48 hours before flight. Also, i was charged more than the website stated price! Stay away from this site! They're crooks! I felt I was taken advantage of during a difficult time. How cruel.
Avoid at all costs, they advertise a low price for a flight and then make you pay much more than what you were supposed to. They offered to add extra baggage at a reduced price and then later to find out that no baggage was added when checking on the airline website. I've called to complain they told me they would fix the matter and I've been sent an email the next day to confirm that the baggage was added. To my surprise, this was untrue and after another call to complain, I've been told that these baggage won't be added at all as there is some sort of issues with the airline. I've asked for an invoice which with any professional company, should be sent shortly after the booking confirmation email. I've been told to wait for 72 hrs, to be shocked to receive it stating a price much higher than what was advertised and while I've paid around £300 for the extra baggage the invoice states only £109. Their customer service personnel are trained to be so polite and respectful but at the end of the day they have no authority, no power and if I ask to speak to a senior it is like asking to speak to the king or something. They just send back the customer service personnel to repeat the same words. I am asking for a full refund based on this horrible service, but they only offer that I pay for the extra baggage at the airport and then to submit a request for a refund of the money I've paid which still will make the original price higher than what it should be. They say a full refund will never happen under any circumstances. Totally dishonest and fraudulent service. First time to book with them and for sure willl be the last.
My husband booked from Heathrow - Phuket return.
It stated Premier Economy (4 flghts multi). On looking at confirmation it stated 1 premier flight, 3 were economy. Phoned Opodo and they said technical issue, they will cancel & have money back in 10 days. Not good enough, I have gone back on their website and it is still stating that its available. Absolutely disgraceful. I spoke to Raghul & then the Manager Kashim. Not happy, feel sorry for the next person who books.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!...Opodo's management after the car hire company was even more appalling!
I booked car hire via Opodo in Turkey. A car hire company called DMR. All paid up front and was suppose to have 500Euro blocked on the card as per Opodo documentation for hire on arrival. The company tried charging me 1000Euro then settled at 500Euro. Rather then blocking the amount, they charged it to my card resulting in transaction charges, contrary to the contract signed by Opodo. Most car rentals only block the amount so no charges made. On returning the car, I received no refund and the car company said they will return it after 4 weeks?. No where in any contract with Opodo or the car company it says this.
On return and after a lot of searching I found the complaint email for Opodo to try and get my money back and get answers to numerous questions about how nothing seems to have followed the contract i signed to hire the car through Opodo. Someone called Nahed kept telling me it was related to extra insurance which is not refundable (clearly it was not!). Then eventually said it was a deposit but not actually taken from the card (clearly was on my statement with transaction charges), then even though I asked to have the matter escalated, this still did not happen and ignored my requests. I have supplied all statement, copies, charges etc...and still not resolved or spoken to anyone senior.
Understand that if you use Opodo, there is no complaints process to escalate anything, the contract you sign may not be followed by third party companies, and they just do not listen or read your emails/complaint! I have never come across a company like this or the employee Nahed who repeatedly does not acknowledge to escalate a problem... I need to find the regulatory body for this company. Even the CEO does not reply backor get senior management to look into the problems.
I am utterly disgusted with the abysmal service provided by Opodo. Since September, I have been waiting for a refund without any proactive communication from their end. It is infuriating that I am consistently the one reaching out for updates, and each time I do, I am met with the same excuse that they are waiting for the airline to respond.
The sheer lack of effort on Opodo's part to chase the airline for my refund is mind-boggling. It appears that they are content with sitting on their hands, leaving me in the dark and frustrated. I expected a travel company to take responsibility and actively pursue resolution, but Opodo has fallen far short of that standard.
This experience has been a complete letdown, and I will not tolerate such negligence. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of Opodo. Their customer service is a sham, and I would strongly advise against using their services.
DANGER! SCAM! I booked a hotel in Rome using Opodo - when we arrived at the address we discovered that the hotel had been closed and no longer exists. However, Opodo let us book and pay for the hotel for several nights.
We were left with no place to stay overnight and with financial damage. The service hotline (even for us Prime members!) did not respond to our concern! We were kept connected for several hours and left helplessly in a foreign city, with no support or booking of a new hotel, with no refund.
There was simply no response to several subsequent inquiries. Fraud, terrible customer service and an absolute rip off. NEVER AGAIN!
It took more than year to get refund for accommodation they had not canceled. I got refund only after involving County Court Judgement.
Please be very careful of using Opodo to book any travel arrangements as they will take the money out of your account and will not provide you with the service that you have paid for. If you contact their call centre they will try to fob you off and will then cut off your call. If you try to complain online when you get to the end of the complaint form it will say that there is an error in your submission. I have checked with companies house and it seems that a majority of the directors have resigned within a short period of time, and that the company no longer operates from within the UK.
I've been waiting for a refund since the 23 September for a flight that was rescheduled with a connection that was less then an hour. Opodo has continually given me the same line that they are waiting on the airlines. It has been three months. They only get in contact with me from no reply emails and it's always generic. The customer service is based somewhere random. It takes ages to get on a call with a person and they just give the same response. They at no point have ever got in contact with me first and are doing little to get my refund.
ATTENTION, THIEVES. Your company is thieves, it robbed me, took my money and didn't give me the car. Once and never again
Do NOT use Opodo! I would put 0 star if I can. They charged me ANNUAL Prime membership without giving a warning that the free trial period is ending soon! That's GBP 60!
Cancelling the prime membership took many clicks. They are really trying to trap as many people as possible with this scam method.
I tried contacting them via Chat with an agent, but it was a chatbot that kept making me go in loops without solving anything! And they said they are a global site but their customer support number is only a UK number! This is really frustrating!
I bet you this would be the similar customer experience service if you have trouble with the trip. Definitely do NOT recommend Opodo.
Quick enough to take your money, customer service absolutely disgusting. Opodo are third party booking agency, I contacted my carrier direct their customer service endorsed that they have a lot of trouble with Opodo. I believe Opodo are based in Belgium not in the UK. Avoid!

Short story, I booked a ticket via Opodo with British Airways. There was a clear message saying that I can add a baggage after the booking without any condition.
The day before I've tried to add baggage but I'm unable to do it.
I've spent 4 hours with the customer service on the phone and all they could confirm is that "They are sorry for giving a wrong information and they can do nothing for me" and "I can add baggage in the airport" without giving any guarantee that I can do it, and without details on the cost price.
Knowing that I have 60kg baggage, I don't want to take a risk and go blindly to the airport.
As a result, I'll need to book another ticket, take 1 or 2 more nights in the hotel in London, and I don't talk about the waste of time and energy, stress and other prejudice.
Anyway I've recorded the conversation, I'll take Opodo to court
Cancelled flight and NO refund
Booked a flight with Opodo in March to travel in late December, but then getting an email on the 02 of November that my flight has been cancelled. I understand that this wasn't Opodo's fault, but it has been 5 days now since I have been requesting a refund for the cancelled flight and haven't received any confirmation that they will even refund my money back. I have spoken to the airline directly, and they told me that they will refund in full, but it has to come through Opodo.
So for me, it was the first and last time that I have used Opodo as it has been a terrible experience. I would not recommend it to anyone.
I bought an airplane ticket and then notice a month later Opodo charge me 80 EUR for a Prime Membership I NEVER ASKED FOR and I NEVER REGISTERED FOR. They charged my credit card a second time with no prior notice, nor any kind of agreement from me (I didn't even signup to their site). On their membership site I cannot discard the credit card nor stop the membership nor ask for refund or anything. So I phoned them 45 minutes international call with 3 different agents none were able to discard my credit card or my membership. At the end Opodo is making it impossible to get back my money and who knows what they will do with my credit card I need to cancel it I think. I am now in contact with my lawyer. Opodo is pure scam, fraudster at its best, Avoid Opodo like plague.
Booked 2 tkts with a non-negligeable discount vs the airline disclosed fare. What a mistake! Once your money is collected, you are on your own for a terrible ride. Totally inexistent customer service. Prey that you don't need any amendment to your arrangement. Once, never again!
Opodo scammed me of 2,700 pounds and want me to pay extra $4,000 for the same flight.
I booked a flight on 29th of September from Maryland, USA to Lagos Nigeria, the flight has a stop in Amsterdam and because I don't have a transit visa we couldn't use the flight and I immediately contacted OPODO to let them know, they couldn't do anything and told me to contact the airline myself. The airline was KLM. I was wondering why Opodo wouldn't contact the airline because they were the one that booked the flight and not me, but I contacted KLM and KLM was so helpful. KLM told me they would postpone the flight till next year for me without paying a dime but I should contact OPODO and tell them to contact them, I contacted OPODO but OPODO want me to pay another $4,000 for the same flight. I asked them why do I have to pay, why not contact KLM so they could resolve the issue for free, why ask me to pay another $4,000 then they hung up on me!. That company needs to be shut down for real...
Answer: Guys, it would only cost you about £40 to take them to small claims court. Dont just take the loss, these people need to be held to account. Id also contact Rip Off Britain to get a programme made about their tactics
Answer: You can complain all you like but once they have your money they dont give a tinkers cuss. Best form of complaint is social media like this site and face book.
