The overall reputation of the company is marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to issues with ticket delivery, refund policies, and customer service responsiveness. Many customers report being charged exorbitant fees, receiving invalid tickets, and facing unresponsive support channels, leading to frustrations and claims of being scammed. While some customers appreciate the variety of events offered, the overwhelming sentiment reflects a lack of trust and reliability. The company's rigid policies regarding refunds, particularly for postponed events, further exacerbate negative perceptions, suggesting a need for improved customer service and clearer communication.

Online city tickets purchased tickets to de leppard concert. The concert was cancelled by def leppard 10 minutes before the doors were to open. Contacted online city to receive a refund and they claim event postponed and will be rescheduled. My tickets are for 1/30/16 at the amway center. This was the date and time I set aside to go to this event. Def lepppard has cancelled most of there winter dates. Through March which is well documented. On many sites like rolling stone and other publications. This company has refused every effort to refund and resolve my issue and they have refused every attempt to correct this issue. This is fraud and theft. To Take money and not refund the money for a cancelled concert. I feel a class action lawsuit against these type of companies is coming soon. They refuse to refund money to purchasers for cancelled events or even if postponement. Purchasers are entitled to refunds and they may not be able to attend any future rescheduled event. Even have a 100 % money back guarantee.
You pay for the good things in life. Yes, cost was much more than face value, but I was willing to do that. Buying these tickets for a Christmas gift was worth the price. The email came immediately and download/print went perfect.
Tickets are sold for more than face value and mark-up is exorbitant. You might expect and not even mind that if you really have to get your hands on some highly sought-after tickets. But beware the estimated delivery date. From my own experience and those of other reviewers, it seems they make a practice of delivering tickets only a few days before the event. Their customer service will give you specious reasons for that involving the actual seller's not receiving the tickets until then -- but if that's the case it makes me think the sellers are delaying delivery in the hopes of a) selling the ticket for even more to someone else to make it worth refunding you your money, or b) obtaining tickets for lower than face value if the concert doesn't sell as well as anticipated and making even more money off you. In either case, your credit card will be charged immediately for something you will then anxiously wait months to see if you actually receive. My advice is to just stay away.
We received an email that Muse will be in NYC so clicked on the link believing we are on their official website and ordered 2 tickets for $600 when they arrived the value on the ticket was $74. It was way too late when we realized something is wrong. But just now after reading all the reviews I am glad the tickets arrived before the concert. Honestly, I wish I would read the reviews before my order.
Janet Jackson has cancelled both tour dates and now thinks 2017. I want a refund of my $829.10. No response from this scam company.
Don't go near them!
Please answer: has anyone gotten into their concert after paying these pigs for tickets.
Please answer! I bought Concert tickets and they charged me triple the price. Now I just want to get to the concert and I'm told by staff their I won't be able to tell if it's a real ticket till we get it scanned on concert day. Please tell me if you got into yours and thanks
Christmas Eve I was going to take my family to see the matinee of the Lion King. The tickets arrived 2 hours late and did not give us time to get to the venue. They stuck us with the tickets because it was our fault that we couldn't get there on time! They only offered to refund the cost of shipping and their service fee. I am contesting the charges through my credit card. Terrible customer service! I'm frustrated that this left such a negative impact on our holiday.
I ordered my tickets for Trans-Siberian Orchestra playing at the Canadian Tire Center on Dec 22. When I chose my tickets, I specifically avoided the Floor tickets due to medical issues. I was very happy with my choice of Section 102. I was promised this section but not the specific ROW. I was OK with this, as the section was the most important. I received my tickets on Dec 19 and was flabbergasted to see that I got tickets for the Floor and not the section I was lead to believe I would be in. When I asked them to give me what I paid for, they had the nerve to tell me the floor was considered an upgrade and therefore I was not entitled to a refund. Upgrade in who's opinion? Certainly not in mine. I have been forced to officially dispute the charges on my credit card. Buyer BEWARE is certainly the theme here.
Thank you. I purchased Frozen on Ice tickets from you a year ago and we just saw the show on Wednesday. No problem, WE printed our tickets and had great seats. Thank you so much!
Thought I was on AXS site for 2 ticketa, but got scammed for 6 tickets at double the price. Real classy!
I just bought tickets received them before I saw news Reporting about this company in Az a lady not allowed to enter her concert. My tickets were sent FedEx but are paper that they copied off printer. I'm not taking a chance. Reported to my credit card.
Little nervous with all these negative reviews? I purchased tickets last night for my daughter and a friend to go to Bieber is there a way to verify that these tickets are VALID?
If you enjoy getting ripped off, This ticket agent is for you. I bought 4 very expensive seats for my family to a Steve Martin/Martin Short concert only to find out at the venue that 2 of the seats were unusable (because you needed to have a wheelchair)! Unbelievable! After contacting them, they said they were not at fault. I have since stopped payment with my credit card co and I'm spreading the word on how unethical and illegal this company is.
I never write reviews or complain... But, being a business owner I purchase lots of tickets for my staff and personal use. I usually order all of my tickets through Smiths Tix, whom I thought I was ordering through and for some reason I was routed to Onlinecitytickets. The morning the tickets was available for purchase. I went ahead and purchased tickets through onlinecitytickets... I though would be great seats and within an hour I was called by Onlinecitytickets and informed the tickets I ordered was sold to someone else, it was a glitch in the system. He promised that I would get better seats than what I ordered. I should of demanded a refund... when I was notified that my original tickets was double sold. But, he assured me my tickets would be better than what I originally ordered.
I received my tickets on Friday... Guess what I received $74.98 dollar tickets for the price if $173.00 a piece. My seats changed from section #2 roll 11 to Section #19 roll 18... How does that work? I paid the total amount of $689.65 for 3 tickets that the face value is $74.98 each a total of $224.94... It would of been one thing, if I hadn't ordered my tickets the day they were available on at 10:00 and I had to pay extra to attend an event. Can I tell you, I was ripped off and its totally unacceptable to do business this way. I understand that everyone is in business to make a few dollars but, come on that kind of mark up on a ticket that was ordered the morning they went on sale it unbelievable. I would of been better cancelling my tickets and showing up at the show to try and buy tickets for a guy that's trying to make a few dollars. I'm sure I would of saved a lot of money!
As, a business owner, I can't believe how this company works. I will share my experience with everyone that I know that buys event tickets.
Honestly if people would read what your paying for there would be no issues. I bought 2 tickets to see the Foo Fighters in Vancouver in September, yea I paid and extra 30$ for each ticket but that's what is to be expected when going to see a "sold out" venue. Overall I got exactly what I paid for.
I bought 2 tickets to see Don Henley and I got what I paid for. You have to read what your buying, most people are mad about the service fee, but if you read what you're purchasing you shouldn't be mad. The concert was wonderful too!
I bought 2 tickets and the total amount is 2 times higher then what I had when I was placing my order. I tried calling the customer service number but I get a voice mail. How can I get my money back?
My original inquiry to Casino Rama|
I usually buy my venue tickets through Rama. I was redirected this time to onlinecitytickets.com and have been completely ripped off. Is this something you are endorsing? I was sent to onlinecitytickets.com directly through your site. Let me know and I will never attend an event again at Rama. I purchased two tickets at 54.00 each for Kings of Chaos and got a bill for 147.35 with all of the service charges. My credit card was billed for 200.22 by onlinecitytickets.com. I don't believe this reflects well on Casino Rama. You may want to reconsider where you direct you customers to from your site to purchase tickets.
Response from the venue where the tickets were purchased for:
When a patron visits the Casino Rama website and then clicks on the buy tickets option under any of our concerts, they will be directed straight to the Canadian TicketMaster website to purchase tickets. If a purchaser is not buying directly in person at our box office or through www.ticketmaster.ca
Unfortunately it seems that you have ended up purchasing tickets through a third party reseller who it would appear have been fairly unscrupulous in making a buck at your expense. We can really only suggest now getting in touch with your credit card company as they may be able to launch an investigation in to the charges.
No reflection on Casino Rama. They responded quite quickly. I post this as a warning to others. Also know that once you provide your credit card to a company you are screwed!
I wish our legal system better protected us from deceptive practices. This company using embedded links at venue websites to take people to their website. They then have a banner designed to look very similar to Ticketmaster when you are browsing. They do not disclose fees (20% of ticket price?!) in an easily viewable place on that landing page. The website does not work well with mobile phones and I suspect they designed it that way--so you can't see the fine print. I disputed with PayPal and they decided that this scam artist website adequately disclosed the fees and their no refunds policy. (And I'm not doing business with PayPal anymore because I'm very uncomfortable with the protection they offer users if this is how they came out on a black and white dispute.)
Answer: In my case, they sent e-mail that the tickets would be forthcoming. When I failed to receive them the week before the concert, per e-mail download as promised, I called their #, the person on the other end told me that it was will-call at the box-office with the copy of the e-mail I needed to bring. The box office told me that as a 2nd line seller, they did not keep them there. When I called to ask why they did this to me and demanded re-imbursal, they sent the tickets per e-mail download THE DAY AFTER THE CONCERT. They tried to cover their tracks with the credit card company, the problem for them was that the time stamp of their sending the tickets reflected the day after the concert. So essentially, they are not even competent as rip-off artists.
Answer: So sorry to hear you have been conned by this outfit. Apparently sometimes they DO send valid tickets, so I hope you are one of the lucky ones. I suggest you tell your credit card company (by phone and IN WRITING) that you are disputing this charge. Also tell everyone you know to avoid this rip-off company. I know this doesnt help you now, but in the future buy tickets only from Ticketmaster (I've never had a problem with them). Good luck.
Answer: I couldn't even open the download so I called the number and all I got was an answering system to send email and I did but no reply from them so the next day a call about 50 times until I got someone. After getting transferred to 3 different people and waiting about an hour for the supervisor the guy told me no refunds are allowed but money is 100% guarantee if it doesn't work at the time of the event. So I'm praying to God they are good the event isn't until the end of November
Answer: They are scoundrels. I know where their office is and went by there recently. I am laying out a plan.
Answer: If you have already purchased your tickets from this outfit, good luck. They sent me tickets for a concert in Tennessee and I asked for and live in Florida. They said it was MY mistake and that I asked for TN. They supposedly tried to resell the tickets and couldn't so I was out $300.00 for two tickets. They have something like 130 complaints and are a scam outfit. Next time order elsewhere and good luck with these tickets.
Answer: I just cancelled my order because they never sent the tickets. At least you got yours so maybe they will be okay. I would call the arena where the event will be and ask them how many issues they have had with this company. I emailed five times and they always sent an automated response back. Then, when I was in a meeting at work they finally called and the number just read, "33333" when they called me. No return phone number... very strange. They left a message to call them so I did immediately after my meeting (15 minutes)... the automated system was up and did not allow me to speak with a person. Thus far, I have never spoken to a real person when I call their number. I disputed the purchase, got my money back and bought tickets for much less at StubHub. I was surprised because my last tickets at Stubhub were kind of expensive... but these tickets (McCartney) were not too crazy expensive. Anyway, best of luck, and I would make a back up plan.
Answer: You will get your tickets, but they will likely have someone else's name printed on them. Worst of all, they will most likely not be honored at the gate/box office. My advice is to get a refund NOW and buy tickets from a reputable outlet like Ticketmaster. City Online are thieves and scammers. See my review about James Taylor concert in Norfolk, Virginia.
Answer: Contact the venue, give them all the details on the tickets received and verify if U will be able to legitimately use the tickets, considering the issues with this company that are so overwhelming. My experience reviewing all the people who describe their issues with them is that even if the tickets are usable, the overpayment is so excessive that it would have been better dealing with the regular ticket outlet for the venue.
Answer: Yes Ann, you will get your tickets. You just over paid by a HUGE amount... but other then that, the company is legit. They are just robbers the way they do it... thats all. Have a good time and yes, at least now you learned a lesson (like all of us on this site);-)
