I have been a Nordstrom customer since the 80s. Their shipping/ return process initially was considered generous when compared to other retailers. This helped as I moved during my career and sometimes had no Nordstrom near me. Well... years have passed, and I have become even more dependent upon shopping online. Now, their process is outdated and unreliable. Ordering this Christmas: I was unable to see the status of my order. Through Christmas, it continued to display "Preparing to Ship" even though the app/ site guaranteed arrival by the holiday. Customer Service seemed to have the same information as me and gave no assurances or insight. When it was clear that the gift would not arrive by Christmas, I attempted to cancel the order. I was told that this wasn't possible. And, returning items... I continue to have poor experiences. It takes weeks (this time it took 5 weeks after shipping to them in November) to get a credit. At 5 weeks, I was told that they were behind and that it would take another week to process. Magically, the next day, the item showed "returned" and a credit was made to my Nordstrom card. The last 3 returns I have done, were suddenly processed when I called Customer Service with concerns. Why? This is my last holiday/ birthday order with them.

It fits. I bought this shirt mostly for the fabric blend which seems to be harder to find these days. I find this blend to be more comfortable and more wrinkle free than 100% cotton.

I buy from Nordstroms online frequently. Items are exactly as shown and ship promptly. The accounting is always right. And refunds, if needed, are quick, courteous and prompt. Love Nordie's!

Nordstroms ROCKS
November 17, 2015

I ordered several dresses for my wonderful role as Mother of the Groom! All free shipping and FREE return shipping! The dress I chose had a flaw and I got a no questions asked (all tags were still on) replacement! LOVE you NORDSTROMS!

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience shopping with Nordstrom. I ordered the Love by Design Marled Cable Knit Pullover in a medium in the Burgundy color. I was very excited when my packaged arrived which was short lived when I tried on my sweater and realized that it had been damaged in the shipping process. It was shipped on a hanger which caused a huge run in the fabric on the shoulder. I was upset because other than the shoulder damage this sweater was exactly what I was looking for. Remembering all the raves about free returns and exchanges I took to the website to process an exchange only to be told via live chat the the sweater I ordered is no longer in stock, has been moved to the rack, and will not be available online but only in select stores. Basically, there is no way for me to get an undamaged sweater and my only option is to return. The closest rack to me is more than an hour away and there is no garnet that I will find this sweater their. I'm disappointed with Nordstrom's inability to locate and exchange an item when it was damaged in their hands. If they have the sweater in some rack stores, they should be able to locate one for me and process an exchange. I bought this sweater on a gift card which I no longer have so I have to wait for my return to be processed, then wait for a new gift card to be mailed to me. An online gift card code was no offered. It seems like there is a lot more effort on my end trying to deal with a mistake made by Nordstrom. Won't be shopping here again.

I save shopping here for special occasions like my daughter's weddinlg. I got a pair of velvet flats that were to die for and they were so comfortable I didn't have to take them off to dance.

I received my order damaged. I reached out to Nordstrom and they did not care and just said to return it to get my refund. So, I submit a return and then notice there's a return label included in my package. So I went ahead and used that one. I called to make sure it was fine to use that one instead of the one provided online and she said that was fine. I then asked if it would slow down my refund and she said it would not. Well, my return FINALLY got delivered back to Nordstrom and I reach out asking how long it would be for me to get my refund now that is delivered back. They said that there is no activity showing on the return label upon tracking it. I explained I used the one provided and was told this was not issue. However, apparently it does slow down the refund timing because they have no way to track my return now. I am being told to wait 14 days! Seriously?! I receive a damaged order and have to wait this long...so it's going to be over three weeks before I even see my money back for a damaged order! I also tried submitting a review about my experience with my order on Nordstrom and they kept rejecting my review. Apparently honest feedback is not allowed. I also have been live chatting with an Elicia and she was zero help and I explained my frustration and her response was so sorry for the inconvenience and have a great rest of your day. Customer service is JOKE!

Horrible experience

TLDR: DO NOT order from Nordstorm. Do yourself a favor and order the same item from a different store.
Whatever I am writing her can be verified. I am also adding screenshots below.
I ordered Versace Medusa Frame pointed toe pumps online from Nordstorm. They came with Versace box missing (just the shoes, and no Versace box). The cost ~620$. There was no authentication card or the original box. Just a note saying that the box was damaged, and we apologize.
I contacted customer service. They told me that they have contacted the store nearest to me, which was about a 30 minute drive, and they will give me the box. I drove all the way, with a lot of hassle, only to find out that I was lied to, and no one has called them.
I contacted the customer service again, and asked them to make sure that this time they have contacted them. Again, I was told that they have called, gave me a name too, but this time, another store about 1 hour drive from my house. I drove all the way, only to find out that I have lied to again.
I called customer service again. The manager told me that there's nothing that can be done, and you can return the shoes. The manager sounded condescending too.
I've been having email conversations with them, and all they have to offer is "we apologize for the inconvenience. Do yourself a favor. Do NOT order anything from them.

I can trust Nortstrom's. I find Sale items at great prices. Their clothes fit me well. Their return policy is totally great. The sales people are wonderful and available. Customer service is great.

A great store

It is so nice to have a great store, with great customer service and products-always reliable.
I discovered Nordstroms when we were given a gift from a store in another state.
We did not have a Nordstroms in our state at that time.
So, the box, with never worn, still tagged clothes, sat on a shelf, and 5 years later, a Nordstrms came to town.
I had heard about their return policy, so, I thought it never hurts to ask.
And, they took the clothes back!
My next great experience was shopping for shoes-I was trying some Jimmy Choos-very expensive.
I loved them, but they were a bit snug.
I asked the salesman (who knew me by now) about having them stretched.
He said he would NOT like to sell me a pair of shoes, at that price, that needed to be stretched.
My next experience that "sealed the deal" was when shopping for a wedding dress with my now-daughter-in-law in the DC area.
The salesperson made it an entirely stress-free experience, unlike the 10 other shops we had visited.
And, the dress we loved turned out to be $400, not $4,000 or $14,000!
Wow-need I say more?

Bait and Switch! Buyer Beware!

I bought a Burberry suit on the Nordstrom application, but it was not hemmed. The app claimed that Nordstrom had selected free basic alterations and listed hemming as a free service, so I scheduled an appointment. It wasn't until I was in the fitting room with my suit on that they tried to upcharge me because I purchased the suit on sale. None of this is mentioned on the app when signing up for alterations.(see picture)

Alterations were more expensive than other tailors that I have used for altering suits in the past. I told them it was a bait and switch and that I was leaving. They asked me to wait to talk to the manager. After waiting for several minutes the manager finally came and I complained about their dishonesty, but he was not helpful or understanding, though he did acknowledge how misleading the wording on the app was.

You might think after spending four digits $$$$ on a suit at a store that you might get some better customer service, but not from Nordstroms. Giant waste of time. Terrible customer service from the top down. Saks, Nieman Marcus, BG or any other department store are surely a better choice. I won't make the mistake of buying another suit here.

I don't appreciate the dishonest from Nordstrom, and I am taking my suit elsewhere for alterations.

In the middle of October of this year I was diagnosed with two brain tumors and Stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. It was quite a surprise to me because I was in perfect health and have never smoked.

Despite my catastrophic diagnosis, there have been many blessings that have enriched my life and have allowed me to battle this illness. One of the blessings is that I had two major brain surgeries (one in Ohio and one in Utah) and can still walk, talk and write this review.

Early on, I realized that a positive attitude was absolutely necessary for me to be able to fight this battle. So I decided to contact Nordstrom's to see if they could help me to select some comfortable clothing to lift my spirits while I am going through treatments for my cancer.

They introduced me to Kalissa Maynard, a personal stylist, who was absolutely wonderful in helping to select clothes that were not only comfortable, but that also helped me to feel positive and good about myself as I prepared for the difficult treatments. I was so blessed to have met Kalissa, and really appreciated her help and kindness.

Also, to my surprise, Kalissa informed me that the Nordstrom's manager (Megan Becker), wanted to treat me and my family to a complimentary lunch at Cafe Bistro. I can't thank Nordstrom's, Kalissa, and Megan enough for their professionalism and kindness.

My package was stolen and was delivered an empty box. Customer service number not working. Call on a Saturday and the recording stated that they were close and opened from 8am-8pm. Called at 8:20 and recording stated they can't take any calls. This company is nothing but FRAUD AND HAVE NOTHING BUT THIEVES WORKING FOR THEM THAT WILL STEAL YOUR MERCHANDISE AND STILL DELIVER YOU AN EMPY BOX. WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM NORDSTROM AGAIN.

Lousy customer service

I returned an item to nordstrom and the warehouse screwed up and sent me someone else's item saying i returned the wrong item. When i called the customer service, first they couldn't hear me so I hung up and called back. The second customer service person told me they would have to investigate what happened but they would not refund my money until the investigation was complete. They refused to immediately refund my money even though it showed that they had my item for 2 weeks already. I asked what should I do with the item they sent me, he told me I can take it back to a nordstrom store. I told him why should I take my time to return to the store something that is their mistake? I am also not going to pay to return it, since it is not something I asked for. When I complained to the customer service rep about the stores poor customer service policy he was nasty and condescending. This is not the first time I was treated poorly by customer service at nordstrom. With the choice of stores I would shop where they respect the customer.
