MyHeritage really digs into the past and finds potential links to my family, most of which appear to be genuine. Fascinating.
My personal contact listened, saw to that I payed and routed me to others to solve my serious problems. I have since then received two more invoices. Please let my personal contact call me so we can make this work.
Udo Rosenkranz
I'm dumbfounded to discover that very close family is not in your files.
So there is a lot of missing persons in fact looks like some western european contries have not been loaded in your database.
I've had my DNA in the database for some time, but had not been using the OTHER services of MyHeritage.
I've been delighted with how well the "Research" tools are organized... I particularly like that I can set the filter to see only public records.
I've also had very good results from filling in more of my family tree, as recorded at MyHeritage.
To keep in touch and find new members of the family, My Heritage is a really great tool, brilliant. I have been able to find out information about family's past and present and has allowed me to build a tree that can passed on for future prosperity.
The web interface is very good as well as the app for mobile devices.
The tree is a great way ot have a conversation with family which usually helps to hear further stories around family and sometimes new discoveries.
I wasn't aware of many of the connections of my ancestors. Though I had heard my mother speak of Uncle Hamp and Aunt Fan for example, I had no idea how they fit into my family tree... so exciting to find full names and familes of those names and many others from my childhood!
Found so many new members of our families with my research, unbelievable!
Recently discovered a part of my direct family who haven't spoken to one another for over 70yrs and now are in full communication with me.
So pleased I joined My Heritage, it's given me an entirely new perspective on our families.
If you want to spend all your spare time studying history and bloodlines, then this is the site for you. I have become totally addicted to piecing together my ancestry now. There is a wonderful bonus to this study for me. I get to know my ancestors lives and the times they were in.
My Heritage is improving over time. So is their information gathering. One day I am hoping they will invent a duplicate ancestor aspect for lines that hold the same families.
I have recently started tracing my family tree. I use the My Heritage website for this purpose. I find the site very easy to use and informative. I haven't fully utilised the full functionality of this site, but will keep gradually doing so over the next few months.
It's amazing what MyHeritage finds for me without me even asking. Via their OldNews service It uncovered the registration name of our first collie along with sire and dam and breeder names. Was NOT expecting that. Our family dog was registered as Cheyenne Break o' Day sired by Duke of White Hub on Cheyenne Sand Storm. Well, it is a pedigree linked to my family surname. It found the info in the American Kennel Club Stud Book Register Dec 1956 New York, United States. Now THAT is truly a full service genealogy subscription!
I suppose their AI just assumed that "Stud Book Register" was a legitimate source for furthering one's genealogy...
I can't stop laughing at this! It truly brightened my day.
My experience with MyHeritage is multifaceted, and can be divided into several areas:
1. Customer Support and Error Resolution
The assistance provided in resolving errors works exceptionally well and is impressively swift. In this respect, MyHeritage offers a highly reliable and professional service.
2. Desktop Application
The desktop program installed on the computer is, however, rather user-unfriendly and somewhat cumbersome. It feels awkward both for quick reviews and for more in-depth work, lacking the fluidity and responsiveness one would expect from a modern genealogical tool.
3. Web Version
The web interface is, in certain respects, more intuitive and generally more pleasant to use. Nevertheless, several important features are missing. For instance:
In an era where objects can be moved freely with a mouse, the absence of drag-and-drop functionality feels notably outdated.
* Tree navigation is limited; I miss the ability to select an entire branch and view or manipulate the full "chain" with ease.
* Searching for individuals — even when entering the full name — remains overly broad and insufficiently precise.
* Uploading PDF files or images, processing them, and linking them to individuals is unnecessarily demanding and not particularly user-friendly.
* The frequent promotion of *paid* matches and features interrupts the workflow and feels somewhat intrusive.
These are perhaps some of the more critical aspects that would merit revision and improvement.
Overall Assessment
Taken as a whole, both the desktop and web versions are reasonably effective and serve their purpose for complex genealogical work. With a few thoughtful enhancements, however, the user experience could become significantly more refined and contemporary.
Gond a nyelv. Angolul nem beszélek. Szeretek itt kutatni. Remélem bővítenek még az országok adatainál. Szerbia(Jugoszlávia) nekem nagyon hiányzik,
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
