Having used another site for a long time was impressed with MyHeritage and its extra details concerning family and other members of my tree.

Your process that includes identifying things in photos (I.e., motorcycles!) was repetitive and almost never ending. Is that really necessary?
Nice to know my heritage and get a few emails with relatives names etc. I think it is too dear to join with the high yearly subscription.

It can take a while to get used to all the intricacies of the site, but once that hurdle is dealt with you will find a wealth of information out there. The entries are stored in a fashion that is easy to follow, and allows for updates as further information becomes available. The record matches are the more reliable information.the smart matches can be helpful, but are not necessarily accurate as it is someone else's research and may not be as rigorous as your own. Be careful to check their dates. You can end up having an ancestor who dies before they are born.

I am more than satisfied with My Heritage, having found out more from not only the site but also contacts with other members giving me more information and how both my tree and their's share common Ancestry. I used to belong to Genes Reunited where I got a fair amount of data to start my tree, with records as proof but found it very time consuming looking for it but with My Heritage I get a lot of information sent on a regular basis through Smart Matches.

The many sources of historical records make researching my family's ancestry so much easier and enjoyable. I am currently approaching 2700 relatives spanning 8 generations, many interesting facts have come to light.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
