I spent 2 and a half grand back in July 2018 thinking I could apply the points to a September 218 purchase and they told me I have no acquired points. Turns out that the guy who took my phone order back then never connected the points to my account and therfore nothing. This is after my points from another purchase expired a few years back. What a scammy mess! Seems like there's nothing they can ever do to fix the problems caused by their own inefficiencies.
I found a case that was described and pictured as an original Gibson j-45 hardshell case. I paid 119.99 for it. Free shipping. I received a totally different case for an electric guitar. I called customer service for the return, and they said they didn't have the case I needed, and that if I wanted to be refunded and return what they sent, I had to pay for shipping! Are you kidding me? It should not even fall under the "return" category. It's only their fault, and in addition to the huge waste of time I have to pay for shipping it back?!?! The only thing I could get from their awful customer service is store credit to have them pay for shipping.
Where do I even start?! This company shouldn't be in business based on my experience. The CS reps have horrible communication skills; they'll straight up lie to you to get you off the phone, they are rude and very unhelpful and you'll never fix your original issue the first time you call. They ONLY reason they are still operating is there 48 months no interest credit card Synchrony Bank offers. Believe me, it ain't worth it. Go to ZZOUNDS or Sweetwater.
I ordered a PA system that was "backordered" so I was fully prepared for additional wait time. A couple of weeks after order was placed, I received notice that my system was shipped. That's when the trouble started. ABF Freight (another terrible company to stay away from) was chosen by MF to deliver the system to my home. ABF scheduled two appointments wherein they never showed up and I had to call them to ask what happened. They said the driver should have called both times because the system was not on the truck. They then "located" my system in their warehouse and attempted to deliver it. It arrived with ripped, damaged packing, broken and missing equipment. I rejected the order, attempted to contact MF but have heard nothing from this terrible company for the last week! Stay away! I have pictures of the damaged boxes but this site will not upload them.
Cancelled an order no problem my bank that i have my mf cc through sent me an email saying i have 0 balance nice job! But my available credit was minus the 738.00 on the order i cancelled so i called mf and they are telling me it will take up to 6 months to credit back my card never ever again will i orderfrom them i now have a guitar center cc. They have 10 times more stuff and have yet to have anu problems with guitar center over the years. Avoid musicians friend at all costs, or it will cost you
MF took my order over the phone, then cancel part of it, the critical part.
Then try call customer service and get the run around trying to cancel order with a non English speaker. Never got through to a supervisor. Impossible to cancel my order. Thieves!
Never shop MF. Try Sweetwater!
I bought a 75th Stratocaster from said business. I received the guitar and the pick guard was all scratched up. I'm not going to pay new guitar price for a used one. I contacted them and they pretty much didn't care. If they don't care I don't care. I can spend my money else where.
I was looking for a red acoustic guitar and checking online this site came out. It had a good price so I decided to buy it here. I had a problem with my credit card and I contacted the customer service. Well, tried to because they didn't reply to any of my emails or phone calls. I'm so pissed off with the miscommunication offered by this company. In the end, I contacted my bank to solve it. The guitar was a nice good but the customer service was the worse experience EVER.
They will sell you a used item without telling you it's used. Bought an American fender Acoustasonic Stratocaster sold as "blemished". When the zipper on the case broke, they said they can't fix it because it's used. The page never said anything about it being used. My receipt never said anything about it being used. This is the definition of bait and switch. Hope the ftc takes appropriate action. Also, when you chat through the website, they make you sign in, then fill in all your personal info, and once you start the chat, they ask for all your personal info again. Complete waste of time.
Bought a guitar for my son's Christmas gift online at Guitar Center on 8/26/2000. On 9/26, the guitar had not been shipped, though they already had billed and received payment. GC said guitar was out of stock... will give me a refund, and notify me when new stock is ready to ship. Did get the refund... but never heard from them again.
On 11/17, saw same deal in stock on Musician's Friend, and purchased it.
On 11/19, received Email saying it is backordered.
On 12/17, told that guitar is still out of stock. This was supposed to be a Christmas gift!
On 1/13/2001, MF sends Email "The item(s) below has been canceled from your order. If your credit card has already been authorized for payment, it may take 5–7 days for your bank to release the hold on those funds." Not even a 'we're sorry, but'!
SAME COMPANY, SAME LIES. Never had a bad thing to say about Sweetwater. INCOMPETENCE..., and worse.
I purchased a PRS SE custom semi-hollow from MF. After arriving, I noticed the stoptail bridge was damaged. I sent it back to exchange. Second one arrived; also damaged, but less severe. I sent it back to exchange again. Third one arrived; damaged again, but I'm deciding to keep since I'm tired of going back and forth. My advice for customers: if you want a brand new item, look elsewhere. My advice for guitar companies: be wary of working with MF; they are selling your guitars as new, though clearly have damage, which is a reflection (though a poor one) of your craftsmanship.
I was sold parts and received the wrong parts that I got stuck with being a snare drum... I was lied to another time on next day air that was not and ended up normal shipping... I ordered drumheads that were in stock to have them come to my house in one of the drums size top and bottom not in delivery... did not even send out a email stating salesman told me that all my heads were in stock that was a lie... when they say they have a back order they will wait until they have more customers to order something that could be a month to two months when they could order it but just don't because they want to wait until more people order a real bull$#*! business... i've dealt with Musician's Friend since 1994 and I will not do business any longer...
Avoid them like the plague. I got a guitar from them with a two-year warranty. The electronics in the guitar did not work. They said they would repair it at Luna's headquarters but I would need to pay the shipping. The cost for the shipping was very expensive and was not worth it unless they paid or gave me a store credit but they refused to. To recap they gave me a broken guitar and refused to pay the shipping to fix it.
A week ago I ordered a guitar and it came to my address in Florida. This week I ordered a gig bag for it and it was sent to an old address in Arizona. That address was not even listed in my address book. I won't order from someone who I can't trust. It will cost me $10 more to order from Amazon but at least it will be sent to my address.
I ordered a gibson montana gold acoustic electric guitar it came damaged the case had a big hole in it and the guitar had a small indent in it and it was the wrong guitar at the it was supposed to be acoustic - electric but was only acoustic and they made it hard to work with still dealling with them to make things right. At 6700. 00 you should get what you ordered in undamaged condition.
I have been doing business with musicians friend for several years and I have been well satisfied with their service and the quality of their merchandise.
"I ordered a bass and a case. I received 2 cases. My son opened his gift for Christmas and it was 2 cases. I called and tried to get them to send the bass right away and they refused until they received the extra case. Worst customer service. I assured a manager I would send the case back and she refused to send me the bass that I have already paid for. Never again will I order anything from Musicians Friend. Its bad enough that my son had to open a crapy gift, and then they refuse to correct it in a timely manner. Not once did they apologies for the mistake. "
I ordered a guitar for my husband for Christmas on Black Friday (great prices) yesterday I was looking for order information and couldn't find any so I made a call to musicians friend the man I talked to was very kind, he looked up the shipping and said that the guitar would be at my house on Thursday the 5th. I was excited. Today I receive and email and it said that my order had been canceled. I made a phone call today and the guitar is no longer available. They are willing to sell me the same guitar for more money since it's not Black Friday. I'm NOT happy and will never ever do business with this company.
Ordered a cymbal stand from Kammy product was shipped out same day I told her I tried to use coupon code which did not work she took the percentage off of the product that I would have received from the coupon while I was on the phone and the credit showed up on my credit card the next day product arrived just as described great experience.
Don't know what the negative reviews are about I had no issues at all.
Bait and switch, lies,... more. Stay away from them. Stay away. Stay away. Stay away from them. Stay away from them. Stay away from them. Stay away from them. Stay away from them. Stay away from them. Stay away from them.
Answer: It s a poor ordering system. It tends to do that a lot.
