My brother and I bought Schaller straplocks and the nut keeps working it's way loose. One of my brothers. Guitar hit the floor, I came close twice and that's enough for me. Going back to Dunlop where I should have stayed. Just writing this so this doesn't happen to you. I do like Schaller products, just not this one, needs improvements.
Except, it's not. It's "backordered". And three weeks later, the website still says that "The item is in stock and ready to ship",.
Except that it isn't. Will never order there again. Not because of out of stock issues. Completely and totally because of the dishonesty. You cannot and should not believe their pitch.
Waited for Aug 1st for 3rd ship date. Nothing. Called them today, stated it is on back order again 4th time. Non stop lying. Never do business with these chumps. Then they have gall to try to sell me something else. Really?
This company is on a death spiral. Selling used guitars as new. Sending out damaged merchandise and not refunding in a reasonable amount of time. Pointing fingers at their credit card Syncrony. Not sure who is telling the truth. Both have a problem. I have been waiting for my refund back on my card to repurchase again for my grandkids birthday.Use Sweetwater or Reverb, you will not be sorry. All I wanted was an exchanged guitar and am being ignored!
20 years of mediocre service finally comes to an end. For strings of all things. I play 5 nights a week for 20 years in Key West and change for every show. I use musicians gear because I only need 4 hours out of them. I order by the 2 dozen once a month. Second to last order was backordered then cancelled, so I ordered again and this time they were on sale. Backordered again. I running short now so I ask to match that price point with any other brand they have. Nope. Just strings dot com has been helpful before in a similar situation so my business will be with them from now on. Unbelievable that they couldn't accommodate a dozen packs of strings for a 20 year thousands of dollars customer.
We bought a violin and a bow. Order number mf*******042 on Aug 23 2018. They didn't check the product before shipping. We received a disgusting bow with fungus and mold. Please see the photo. We spent over $800 but got a poor quality bow.
We already sent the photos regarding the bow showing 5 spots with mold and fungus when the violin arrived. But the company asked us to mail back the bow from Taiwan. And they didn't pay the international return freight cost. It is the poorest service we had encountered. We only want to return the money of bow and excuse.
This company is trying to SCAM me out of $600.
They are trying to say I am responsible for a return that "did not reach them". However they did not notify me of this problem until well after the UPS tracking number was null and void... 6 months later!
After speaking with 5 (yes 5) VERY ineffectual and unhelpful Customer service reps I still have no resolution. The "supervisor" to the last customer service reps was the worse, offering no contact info for himself but leaving a message saying sorry I can't give you any info".
By then my son had thrown away the receipt for return...
I am calling attorney and BBB tomorrow. Please go elsewhere. This is the most frustarting thing to deal with.
I ordered a lavalier mic from Musicians Friend. Unfortunately 2 days later I tried to return it because it does not work with my Rode wireless go, and I called them but they said my order number does not match what's in their system so they can't help me. Even though the return label info included in the box has their company name, address and telephone number, LPN and scan code. However, I did get a refund for it through Target since they were the ones that referred Musicians Friend. So Im ok now, but the whole experience with talking with the so called customer service rep and her constantly cutting me off is the reason for the review score of three stars.
No one of their items will be available for the price that they advertise. They will just try to buy time and hope they can get it for you from other stores but it won't be a new one, they will offer you a display item after you lost days and days with their customer center. What a joke!
I have purchased from Musicians Friend since they opened in 1983 - after countless transactions I have yet to ever have a problem with them. Have never experienced such prompt service and shipping from any other retailer of any products as I have from Musicians Friend. Absolutely the finest and dedicated company.
We attempted to buy a classical guitar that was on a sale and back ordered. It was only supposed to take an extra two weeks and that was fine. However, over the next month the back order date continuously slipped until it was pushed over three weeks beyond the initial date. That's when we decided to get of the back order game and actually bought the guitar from someone that actually had the guitar. Don't trust their back order time lines. They are meaningless and they don't care that their drawing customers in and charging them for items they can't actually provide. An upstanding company would simply mark the item as out of stock and wait till they actually had a firm shipment date but that is not the Musician's Friend.
Purchased a pair of Tascam TH-200X studio headphones with free shipping from Musician's Friend. Absolute garbage. So much bass response that they are unusable for any studio work. I contacted MF and was told I would have to pay what the original shipping would have been, and the return shipping (~$35) to return them. When contacted, they basically said, "That is our return policy and that's the way it is!". Wow. After about a 30 year relationship with them, I'm done. They no longer take care of their customers. Sweetwater is much better.
My wife ordered a saxophone stand for me form Musicians Friend. 1.5 weeks later it never arrived nor any tracking info. Called them about it and they eventuallyanswered the phone and apologized blaming the manufacture for the dely. Said they would get it out right away. 1.5 weeks later again with still no tracking info or delivery she called again to cancel the order. Was told they did not understand what had happened again and cancelled the order but said they were going to make it right by shipping it anyway without charging for it. Well needless to say same old song and dance... Order from a more dependable company if you need the item.
I have bought many things from Musician's Friend including a new Getzen trumpet for my son. They are very professional and always easy to deal with. Plus they have great deals! They allow you to try the instrument for up to 45 days and you can return it for a refund if you are not happy with it. How cool is that?!
Been a loyal customer for years and the way the repay me is to accept my order and then notify me a week later that the item is on backorder. They do this all the time. Then they never respond to my complaints. I am all done the Musicians Friend, there are a ton of other places to buy the same gear. What is the point. Just a money grab zone here
After screwing up my Christmas present (the only one my son was getting) and shipping HALF of a desk, they then told me the only way I was going to get the desk now was to send them back their screw up, pay more money to get another desk shipped that would get there well after Christmas, and then some day they would refund my money for the original purchase.
After I shipped them their junk, they refunded part of my payment and then proceeded to ignore my emails. I had to open a case against them via PayPal to get my money back. I promised that if I didn't get this resolved, I would spread their name on every review site I could find, so here you go. This organization is a joke and should be avoided at all costs.
Beware of Fender and Squier instruments being sold by Musicians Friend. I could not get Fender or Squier to verify and send me a certificate that my guitar was not counterfeit and this was at the request of customer service at Musicians Friend. I even sent pictures of the guitar as well as the serial number. Caveat emptor.
Sent proof of a price match and they refused stating they do not honor sales prices. I will be returning item and no longer shop their. They wouldn't even discount item that was already in shipped status. They would radther return it.
I just recently tried to get a 5 string bass guitar from musicians friend and both times they sent me the wrong guitar. I am disappointed in the fact that even after the return they couldn't get my order correct, needless to say, I will be more hesitant if I decide to order from them again if they can't get one simple order right twice.
I need a product quickly. I purchased the product and paid for overnight shipping. 3 days later I called customer support to ask about my purchase only to learn it was out of stock. I checked the website and it specifically said the product was in stock. I decided to wait on the product and make due until it came. A month has passed and I am still waiting on this product to be shipping. Musicians Friend is not willing to offer a refund on delivery. I will not use Musicians Friend again. Sweetwater is my new friend.
Answer: It s a poor ordering system. It tends to do that a lot.
Answer: Because they dont care at all. The people on the phone are nice IF you can get a hold of them. Id go to AMS or zz sounds instead or sweetwater
Answer: One of the worst places to do business. I recommend Sweetwater, Zzounds, or Sam Ash.
Answer: You should be concerned that Musicians Friend has zero integrity. Try Sweetwater, or Zzounds.
Answer: Save yourself from the stress and aggravation go to Sweetwater.
