Horrible service!

I ordered a snare drum stand on 3/28/2016 and almost immediately after I got the order email I got a second email saying that it was on back order. Really? A snare drum stand? Its 4/6/2016 I hear nothing from these people so I called and CANCELED the order. I think its ridiculous that they care nothing about customer service. The stupid site should say it was on back order. Why are these people still in business? I could have ordered it from China and it would have been here by now. Than people wonder why ALL our jobs are going overseas. I will tell you why... because people and businesses like are LAZY!

Attempted fraud
August 4, 2017

Sold me a 2017 Les Paul custom axcess, Portland Orange, 1 of 25 made as new for $4599. 00 guitar had massive amounts of wear on fret board, strap wear both ends, worn finish on back leg rest contour, finish on horn worn through to paint. Scratches on back and front of guitar, missing switch cap with miss-matched color replacement just left in case. Then they claim they have no idea how this sort of thing could hve happened and drag their feet on the the return of my money. Excuse of working through a mass backlog of returns. How does anyone let a high end custom out the door in this condition by accident? They don't, bottom line it is attempted fraud. My advice to anyone in similar situation. FBI IC3 site, your states attorney general office (NAAG.ORG) and the federal trade commission. They are committing interstate fraud on a regular basis as you can see in many cases on this site and all should be reported as I have.

Hosed on drumsticks

My son ordered a 24 pack of dipped plastic tipped size 5A drumsticks for $40...he received undipped size 2B sticks...way too big for his hands, but drumsticks are on their list of things they don't allow you to return... so he's out $40 & still needs sticks

I wish musicians friend would be honest and upfront about stock availability and shipping. I've run into numerous issues with them stating an item is in stock only to find out it s back ordered for months. Simply put, if it s not available per advertisement it should not be posted as available. This is a deceptive practice. They shouldn't put a pend on your charge card if they can't process something. I've seen back orders for 3 months. Sales people are trained to always say, it may be shipped next week. They are clueless as their entire ordering system has become a cluster of errors, delays and broken promises. Their online ordering system is rigged with problems as coupon codes, points and advertised discounts do not seem to be applied. It took me 4 tries to have it corrected. I've also been double charged as the items in the cart mysteriously doubled. I was glad I had caught it quickly. I no longer want to deal with musicians friend as loyalty means nothing to tgem.

Title says it all. I ordered Marshall dsl40 at full price and got a scuffed up floor model from a guitar center. It's been 72 days and I can't get my points. Every time I call they say they have no record of my complaint. The only reason I gave M. F. a chance was because they use UPS for free. Sweetwater uses Fedex for free but they delivered 2 broken dsl40s, one with a cracked baffle and the 2nd with a shattered tube. UPS got it to me in one piece after losing it for 9 days. I've given up on buying new gear that prices jump up every other day. Been going old school with adds & FB yard sale. Forgot how exciting it was to run out and see new places & people.

I was into music for some time and needed some good shop with various accessories and tools for music. Found this service a while ago and I like it until this day. Everything you need is found on musicianfriend. Good service. Easy to find anything and very fast delivery

I ordered a taylor classical guitar from musicians friend. The box it was in had NO handling instructions, the box was half torn open, the guitar was loose in the case and literally hot from being in a UPS truck all day. Guitars are delicate instruments.
I am trying this instrument for a while to be sure it hasnt buckled or warped from the heat. Ive had underwear packaged more carefully than this, and this was an 800.00 instrument.
This guy, you can tell its this staged concern and caring, keeps callin to say hello. Hows their service.
But he did not address the mishandling, poor packaging. Guess they will keep sending yhings in a hot truck. In fairness. He said I could return it, but why handle their products and deliver them in this manner? Guess some customers dont know any better

I'm usually a harsh critic, but Musciansfriend.com doesn't really have any faults. They reply to my emails in a timely manner, and I'm not stuck tying to email a bot. Some prices are high on some things, but I can't find a cheaper place to buy a Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy. And they send a magazine in the mail. Just a mag. It's not monthly. Probably just biannually. Please let me know if you all find a better music site. Good Luck

I purchased Melodyne Editor 5 from Editor 4, it was my first time buying Melodyne software. Instead of the software I thought it was, I bought an upgrade. No where on the page did it say it was an upgrade, and I can't buy the software that the upgrade is for be sure it's obsolete. After all of this, I've wasted $100, and hours of my time on something I can't use. Customer service was of no help to me, definitely not a musician's friend.

Be careful., they put up great deals on items they DONT HAVE. To get you to finance items. Do hard inquiries. But when you go to complete checkout- they DO NOT have the item and try to sell you something else!

The amp I needed for an upcoming gig was advertised "In Stock and Ready to Ship". They charged my card and promptly sent me an email that the amp was on a 2 month backorder. I cancelled and had to wait 3 days for my card to be credited.

Lost gift card money

Son got me $100 gift card ordered a bunch of strings got one package at the right time other sets never came called they reordered a different set for us then said they we're on backorder also waited and waited then said we didn't use a gift card be used a credit card and they said we were never charged because they didn't ship so we didn't get our money back and lost the money from the gift card stay away from

They show things in stock they don't have. They wouldn't price match the same guitar they had in stock due to it being a different color. Poor customer service. MF has gotten too big and lost its customer service and a customer. Sad!

After speaking to numerous agents, I was told I have already used my points, which is impossible checking the time frame carefully, another answered we made a mistake and your points were never transfered over.We will reach out to our loyalty team(Oxi Morons)and take care of it. Well guess what, they are still missing in action! These Morons have an IQ of a first grader. They make a great daily double(M/F & Guitar Center) You can not embarass these people. Once again, STAY CLEAR!

It is well past my reward points due date and once again I have not received them. This is not the first time this has happened, and it does not suprised me. This is a failing company that continues to nose dive with selling you used equipment or dealing with the above issue. When contacted they fail to call back, or give you a bs story answer on your computer. Stay clear!

I've bought bass guitars and some other stuff from these folks. New is what you'd expect. New. Recently I needed a Peavey amp and ordered a used one from Musicians Feiend. It arrived quickly and was packaged well. The amp arrived looks wise as it did in the photos. I was told that the amp had been checked out and was solid. Not so. I plugged it in and there was heavey static and popping sounds. It was impossible to use. I wrote Musicians friend and 48 hrs later I've heard nothing.

They Lie & Rip You Off

THEY LIE AND RIP YOU OFF!

I ordered a set of recording mics and paid extra for 4 day expedited shipping so they would arrive in time for a weekend event I was recording. Paypal notified me within 30 minutes that my payment was waiting for Musicians Friend to ship.

Musicians Friend didn't even pack the order until 5 days later. UPS received it 7 days later.

I complained and Musicians Friend lied and told me that PayPal delayed my order. I sent them the PayPal approval and pointed out they were lying.

Then they said they would credit me for the expedited shipping charge but they never did.

Musicians Friend lies & rips you off.

Buy a Bass get a guitar

Ordered a schecter bass. Got a schecter 6 string guitar. How does this happen. The bass I originally wanted was supposed to be in stock. I get a call next day. Saying it's not in stock. I ordered a different bass. 2 days later get a guitar..

Cancelled my order
March 11, 2021

I ordered an Epiphone PR150 guitar from this website that was on sale at a large discount. Today I looked on the website and it shows my order was cancelled. When I called I was told it was out of stock even though it currently shows it in stock and ready to ship. The person I spoke to said the store was out of stock and she could check other stores to see if it was in stock. She said it is out of stock at all their stores. Apparently they dont update the website and accept orders for items they dont have. First and last time I would try to order from them.
