I have been shopping at ModCloth since 2010 when I ordered a dress for my engagement photo shoot. ModCloth has the sort of clothing that you wear and your friends tell you it is obvious you do not primarily shop at department stores. The quality for the price point is very good in my experience. I still wear that 2010 dress after laundering it (probably improperly on my part) for years and it has held up well.
The household items are very cute and I have ordered them here and there for hostess gifts. They always seem to be a hit as it beats the usual bottle of wine. Additionally, ModCloth has sales where you can get a very nice gift for under $10.
I have found their order fulfillment process to be very speedy. I usually have the item within a matter of days and shipping is not very expensive. Clothing is as-described and have never had to complete a return.
I've purchased many items from the store. Most of the quality and sizes are hit or miss, given the different designers. What really pissed me off was that they sent a package that never arrived. When they sent it, they added -$10 and because the item didn't fit, I had to return it. When I received my refund, it was -$10. They charged me 10 bucks for a replacement that they screwed up because they switched in the middle of ups to usps. Not an honest seller at all, will probably not purchase or recommend again. Disappointing, because their products are adorable.
I have placed several orders with this company and have had mixed results. The first order was great. I ordered the cloud bank top in white. It arrived in a reasonable amount of time especially considering that there was free shipping. It was better than expected for around 50 dollars. My second order was nothing but a mess. I ordered three items, two tops and a sweater. After waiting over two weeks for delivery, I opened the box and was very disappointed to find all three items to be of very poor quality. I kept one because it was cute (and on sale) but I have a feeling it won't last long. They offer free return shipping but it's very slow and I almost missed out on getting a refund. If you need to return, my advice is send right away! They allow 30 days for a cash refund, after that its store credit.
I had an order that was mistakenly returned to sender by the USPS. I had 7 conversations with 7 different representatives, who all gave me misinformation. I never once received any communication directly from them and also never received a single piece of the follow up communication that I was promised multiple times after our conversations. A month and a half later, I still made no headway and continued to be misinformed (at best) or misled (at worst) by their workers. I should've asked for a refund from the get-go. Cute clothes, but by NO MEANS worth the headache, if anything goes wrong.
It's a scam. The clothes arrive smelly, damaged, wrapped in cheap plastic and in none of the packaging you're used to from ModCloth. Worst of all, the clothes are shipped from the ModCloth Returns Department. They are deliberately misleading their loyal members by selling them previously worn/used clothing under the falsely-advertised trope of being an exclusive deal for a limited time. Never again.
Highly recommended. I've ordered from ModCloth a few times in the past and have always received satisfactory service. I promptly got whatever cute clothes I ordered. Everything also seemed well-made and in good condition.
In my last order, however, one item came with a significant defect. As soon as I contacted customer service and explained the problem, I was shipped a new item free of charge! They seemed helpful, apologetic and kind, especially compared to other companies I've dealt with in the past.
I've bought from this sight a lot in the past and I haven't had any problems whats so ever. The quality was always good and their arrival time is great. I get my package about 5 to 3 days from it being bought. I will always go back to this sight. Their customer service is so sweet and helpful. Their prices are high but I never minded that.
For reference I live in southern Texas. Just in case that helps anyone.
The first time i placed an order it took less than 2 weeks to arrive. Unfortunately this was not the case for the second order. The website says a maximum of 21 business days. Its been over that and was told today that " if it doesn't arrive in 30 business days, we can look at options" I will not be using this site again.
I returned some items to Modcloth and requested larger sizes be sent. The sizes I requested were out of stock so they automatically have me store credit instead of issuing a refund like any honest retailer. I contacted them to correct the mistake and they refused. Worst company ever. Seriously? I hope holding on to my $75.00 is worth losing a customer for a lifetime.
Ordered my clothing on Monday, still has not shipped on Friday. COntacted customer support and was told it "should ship by Tuesday". Meaning 8 days after being ordered... Unfortunately I ordered these cloths for vacation and they will not be here on time. Thankful for the free return, whole order will be going back.
Thanks so much for the feedback, Shuana. We are so sorry for the trouble! Our shipping team has been a bit behind over the last week due to the holiday but they are working around the clock to ensure all orders ship out as soon as possible. Our Savvy Saver and Ground shipping options do require additional business days for processing so our team is able to pick, process and package up your order perfectly. If you're ever in a crunch and need your orders by a certain day, we suggest reaching out to our Customer Care team to ensure your order has a seamless fulfillment process! So sorry again for the trouble!
Some clothing have very nice quality, other is made in china and is synthetic. I mostly buy items on sale, since I have to pay international delivery, wich is as illustrated in my photo is not worth 30 plus usd at all. Kudos to Modcloth because they did apologize for how courier treated one of my packages with 10% or 15% discount, however courier FedEx never did. To add to injury courier rigged taxes up so I had to pay additionally to courier and more than I was supposed to. I never had any problems with usps regardless where I shopped.
I placed an order a week ago. They haven't shipped it and won't cancel my order.
Quote from chat:
Right, but as I mentioned, we are in the midst of upgrading our warehouse system so we had to cease operations for a short time.
I so sorry, if i had a way to add a new charge to your order, I would.

We are a young and growing site, try to better our processes and services. It's not an overnight process, it takes time.
Recommend no order be placed until they better their process.
I purchased a couple items from ModCloth for my daughter for Christmas that I tried to return. According to the return policy returns are allowed within 28 days from when they were shipped. I missed it by a day and they would not allow my returns. Even after I informed them that it was a Xmas gift. All tags are attached. Items are in same condition as I received them.
I have been shopping here for many years. Was told they were bought out and the new company change their return policy. Sadly won't be shopping here again!
Hi, Maria. I'm sorry for any frustration regarding our return policy. It has had to change recently due to changes and updates within our systems. I understand your disappointment, and will be sure to share your feedback with the appropriate teams.
I ordered clothing for my daughter's birthday on January 10th, 2024. I was told I would be receiving information when the order is shipped. After I hadn't received information, I reached out to them and was told that their warehouse was moving and it would be shipped at the end of January. I didn't receive information by the middle of February and emailed the company and was told that the warehouse move wouldn't be complete until the end of February. Now it is March 20th and still, nothing. I have used this site before and have never had problems like this. I understand delays happen BUT the company should reach out to me; I shouldn't have to chase them down. I have just emailed them for a status update. I'm waiting to hear what is happening.
This is it. They have lost my business.

When I email customer service to check in on shipping dates they just keep giving me new dates a month back. They don't email you to inform you of a shopping delay, just keep your money and expect you to keep checking in with them about when you will get your stuff. Truly hate this scam of a company. Hope I receive the stuff I paid for over THREE MONTHS AGO someday!
I love this company! I have been ordering clothes and shoes from them for years and have always had a good experience. The packages always ship fast and I get so many compliments on my clothes. They are a little pricey but have good sales. Plus, their clothes live up to expectation and are usually worth the price. Another good thing is thier customer service. I never dread having to call them with returns or questions because I always have a good experience. The people are genuinely nice a very helpful. They even let me return something that was final sale because it didn't fit and I was a loyal customer.
Modcloth has been and will be my go to online store! I love them!
If I could give a negative star I would! I had ordered a few dresses from ModCloth in hopes of wearing one to an upcoming Awards Ceremony. I just got a notice that due to restructuring of their shipping facility that they will not be able to ship my order in time. There was no notice of this at the time of my order and it should have arrive by now if normal. Ladies be very careful of ordering from ModCloth and they just lost a customer!
I've been a ModCloth customer for many years now and am a really big fan of the website. I find they have excellent customer service, such as when I received a dress with some damage to the fabric and had my purchase instantly refunded. It is easy to get answers from customer service on clothing brands and sizes, and I have not been disappointed in the quality of the clothing.
I tend to only buy from them on sale since full price can sometimes be a bit high, but the sales I have got in the past have been phenomenal. ModCloth is a great way to discover new brands, and I especially like that many of the brands they carry are manufactured in the USA. Returns can sometimes take a little while to be processed, but I am happy enough with the website that it doesn't affect my overall rating.
I love mod cloth for thier exclusive pieces and smart eye for fashion. The prices are already great and now they having a 20% off summer sale - love it! They have free shipping on orders over $50 and free returns and exchanges. This site is awesome!
I was so extremely disappointed with my order. My sweater had a hole in it and I went to hang a collared shirt and the button popped off. I should have listened to similar reviews about the clothing being cheap and not worth the money. Never will buy from this site again.
Thanks for sharing your recent experience, Taylor! We hate when our products don't hold up! Please contact our Customer Care team and they'll be happy to take care of this for you: https://chat1c.livechatinc.com/licence/1049368/open_chat.cgi?lang=en&groups=2
Answer: The quality is about 80% rubbish (based on 10 purchases and only keeping 2 items). Hardly any of the dresses are lined and they're made with very cheap fabric, they're also way more expensive than they used to be but the quality hasn't improved. The stitching is usually uneven and the cloth cuts are terrible. You have to pay to return things, and from Australia it often costs more in postage to return something than the item itself, so I wouldn't bother.
Answer: Hi, Priscilla. We do not currently send out a physical catalog. I'm sorry for any disappointment!
Answer: Hey, Leslie! No need to worry- returns are pretty easy, especially if you're in the U.S., where we can provide a free return shipping label. At this moment, we are just a little behind on getting returns processed, due to heavy volumes during our recent sales, but we're working on getting caught up, ASAP! Our Customer Care team can also always help with any returns questions you have, as well as checking on returns statuses. You can reach them from 8am-11pm EST Monday-Friday, and 8am-9pm EST Saturdays, at modcloth.com/help!
Answer: Yes, there are full cash refunds and online store credit for the returns. It is annoying, but you would go into the purchase history and there is a section to return whatever items you want. Then when you have completed that section there should be a return Label paper that you print out from your email. It is a fedex paper. The returns should be free.
Answer: Used to be great. Horrible now. Never true to size. Cheaply made from China.
Answer: Be sure to refer to the sizing chart for your size. Also keep in mind that some items are in European or Asian sizes. Be sure to read the full desription of the item to know if you need to size up or down.
Hi, Jocelynn. I'm sorry to hear that your items arrived in less-than-perfect condition. Please rest assured that we do not intentionally send out products that are not up to our usual quality standards. Our team would be happy to look into this for you. You can reach them at modcloth.com/help, via phone or chat, from 9am-9pm EST, Monday-Friday. They will be glad to assist.
