I am new to Living Social, but have been using GroupOn for long time. I have to say Living Social SUCKS! The customer service is so bad. When I called regarding my purchase, living social's rep wasn't willing to help. The only thing the rep said was 'I am sorry but this is the company policy. I can't help you with this'. If you purchase something from GroupOn and you are not happy with the purchase, GroupOn will refund you the money. Living Social, forget about it. They do NOT care. I will NOT purchase anything from Living Social again. NEVER!
Purchased a $99.00 Two-hour Holiday light tour limo ride. Was unable to reach PREMIER ENTERTAINMENT (Limo Company) for over 5 weeks to even attempt to schedule the event! Their voice mail remained FULL and no one would respond to my e-mails! Eventually, after many, many attempts, I reached Dave Rivaudo, owner of limo co. After numerous dates hped for, we fianlly were able to schedule a 5:30 pm Thurs. Evening light tour. Family all came together, son came back from out of town work early, the limo co. Called less than 2 hrs. Before scheduled pick-up time, saying limo was in shop, we must reschedule. Dave recommended the following Saturday evening (5:30pm), we agreed, family gathered awaiting the arrival of car, anticipating quality experience. NO SHOW! After a few failed attempts to reach Dave Rivaudo, owner of limo co., finally was able, said he had us down for a DIFFERENT day! He asked if we could, once again, reschedule! Well, the definition of insanity, is doing the same thing, expecting different results! I was NOT going to get the hopes up of all involved again, build another evening around a "shady" limo company. Dave assured me that even tho I must go through LivingSocial for refund there would be no problems! GUESS AGAIN! Spoke with a very rude customer "service" rep, Sarah W. At LS, who told me she would be unable to refund since it was more than five days after voucher purchase! HELLO! Part of the problem from "get~go" was that it took more than 5 WEEKS for me to reach limo co to schedule the above mentioned event! Sarah showed ZERO empathy or validation of my frustration. I had to "fight" for a refund, threatening to contact our local consumer advocacy person with local news station. Sarah finally relented and agreed to refund! By this time, I was not only frustrated, disappointed, now exhausted and have lost all faith in LS and do not plan on purchasing through them again! Buyer beware!
I have used living social twice: once for a wine tasting and another for two hang gliding. Due to unexpected medical bills I needed a refund on my hang gliding adventure and it was over the 5 day refund policy. I called and asked a representative if I could refund the trip and with no questions asked happily refunded me. I have never had such an easy experience with any customer service and highly recommend this site. I look forward to future adventures through living social!
I purchased vouchers several times and received the service with one exception where voucher expired. I purchased vouchers from Advanced International Cleaning prior to Thanksgiving. They did not have equipment to clean our tile, ruined it. Double charged. THERE IS NO RECOURSE VIA LIVING SOCIAL. THEY HAVE NO SKIN IN THEIR SALES. I called number on invoice and the company has NO IDEA who came to our house, different phone number and obviously stolen order sheets. Now to the BBB. BUYER BEWARE.
They have the worst customer service ever. Never ever pick up the phone the speak with a real person. I am a business owner and they refuse to do business with me with no explanation or any other good reason. They don't even respond to my emails to explain what and why.
NEVER ORDER DELIVERY FROM LIVINGSOCIAL INSTANT! I tried to order food tonight and it never came. Two hours later, I called to check on it and the restaurant told me that they did not deliver to my address! Hmm, that sounds like something Livingsocial should know! The restaurant said they called livingsocial and canceled the order, but livingsocial never called me to let me know or send me a cancellation email! I waited two hours for food that wasn't coming, and that they knew wasn't coming! Finally, when I called the number to complain, I got a message saying the office was closed for the holidays. Thanksgiving was two weeks ago! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM LIVINGSOCIAL!
Rip off, unfair, false and misleading. Fair Trading should shut them down.
Purchased an expensive voucher for a cosmetic procedure and when i went to the Dr to use it she TALKED me OUT of getting it done. So i lose the money and no procedure and the Dr got my money without having to do anywork. I am sure if i was about to pay full price she would have been talking me into it. I am sure this happens often when dealing with any medical typed procedure. If a deal seems to good to be true... it probably IS. NO more coupons for me.
I bought a voucher which was a nitemare for a day course of hair and make up the company said the course would be in one location and that they would provide equipment/goody bags includin mac make up and the company said they would email to confirm everything at least a week before I heard nothing until 3 days before and the told me a different location and that I needed to take my own equipment I emailed the company to complain and heard nothing back so contacted livingsocial direct they said they would give me a £5 voucher for there site! So I lost alot of money! I will never use them again as the obviously don't vet there merchants very well and the customer care and after care is terrible! Groupon did the same deal and my friend had the same issues as me and groupon were fab about it and gave them a full refund! I will NEVER use living social again!
This company is owned by jump on it... avoid them as they are not fair on small business...
My friends have had some good fortune with this site but unfortunately my experience has not been the same. It would appear that the companies that offer the vouchers become overwhelmed with the response and instead of setting a reasonable limit on the amount of vouchers they offer, they over-promise and ultimately under-deliver. Of course, at that point, it is no longer Living Social's problem as they have their money--they don't care if you have to wait 6 months to redeem your offer or not. In short, dealing with the customer service at Living Social is a painstaking process at best. I will not be using them again and will be telling my roommates, friends and family to be aware.
Looks like were not the only ones. Absolutely useless, not to mention rude customer service. A voucher that we were turned away with, no refund and my wife was made to feel as though this was her fault. Don't bother people there not worth the effort.
We bought a voucher for bootcamps and since we bought, the camps in our area has closed and the closest is 45mins! The customer service response was that because we did not ask for one within 5 days of purchase, we are eating it. They did not care if the customers can use them or not. Stay away from such company!
I am giving 0 stars to this business. They are the worst I have dealt with. I have emailed them and also called them. The supervisor I spoke with, his name is Mike is the worst supervisor I have ever talked to. He was so rude, he did not want to listen to my problem, the only thing he wanted to say was that he just cannot help me. I told him that I was having scheduling problems with some merchants and that I would like to get the deal bucks for those deals. He refused and he actually hung up on me. I really wish that Living social look in to this matter and just fire Mike for his behavior with me so other customers do not suffer like me. I lost around $200 because of Mike, his id is 1503. Beware of him, do not even think of dealing with him, he is a nightmare to talk to.
I like Living Social but prefer Groupon. On Groupon you can view other people's questions and the answers they received. They usually address my own concerns and some times people ask questions that I never considered, that make the offer either more attractive or something that would not work for me.
Another issue with living social: Sometimes my purchases are not listed in my account. Fortunately I remembered making the purchase, called customer service and they email me a link to print the coupon. But what about the deals I purchased that are not listed in my account and i've forgotten about.
Recently I started printing the coupon within days of purchase while I remember the purchase rather than chance it not being in my account later.
Now that I begun that regiment, I feel more comfortable using living social.
One more thing. When I called customer service when I could not view my coupon. The rep was very professional and helpful. Something which is getting less frequent in dealing with some businesses now a days.
HORRIBLE, bought coupon from them for a massage at local salon. Tried to book massage & company does not have personal to do it but "may" in 3 months. Asked for refund from Living Social. They refused & all they do is stonewall. Absolutely worst company I have done business with in last few years. Had to file credit card charge back. Thank God credit card companies are there for these situations.
Return policy is awful. Once you buy it, it's yours after a 7 day period. So, if the item/purchase is used after that period, you are straight away out of luck. I cancelled my subscription and have moved on after dealing with a repetitive customer service which just restated the policy.
Their return policy and customer service is terrible. I bought a voucher, the merchant told me they were overloaded and could not get me in and that I should get my money back. Living Social will not refund my money! I am still trying to get it back, but I would not recommend Living Social. If something goes wrong they will not help you.
I was happy with Living Social. But they have had such poor customer service lately, I will stop using them. The business I have a certificate for oversold with 15 sites and cannot give me the spa service. Living Social won't credit my account.
I'm DONE with Living Social!
I would give them negative stars if this site gave me an option. HORRIBLE! LIVINGSOCIAL (LIVING SOCIAL) SUCKS! Do not buy their vouchers. They do not do any screening of the vendors and most of the vendors they provide do not answer phones and do not return calls. When I tried to get a refund on these vendor vouchers LS ignored my emails. When they finally got back to me they would not do anything for me. They told me that they now called the vendor and they are willing to take my appointments. That is not what I wanted as a resolution. I wanted a refund. I no longer wanted to give business to vendors who are unprofessional. I love Groupon and Trubates. Go with them. I never had any problem with those guys. Living Soical is the worst!
Answer: I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. A total nightmare. They take your money don't send the goods and they don't answer e mails
Answer: There do seem to have been some financial problems with many of the deals from Living Social. But when I had a problem they answered the phone and it was dealt with quickly and the goods resent.
Answer: Have you contacted the customer service at Livingsocial.com? I have found them to be pretty responsive in the past. This is a seperate review site.
LivingSocial is a leading "daily deal" site that sells discounted experiences and local services--restaurants, spa trips, home services, travel, etc.--via voucher. The consumer must pay for the voucher upfront, and the voucher generally must be used within a specified time period or it cannot be redeemed. To make these deals possible, LivingSocial sells merchants on its ability to help "find and keep more customers". LivingSocial is a private company based in Washington DC and its shareholders include Amazon.com.
