I have 2 bad experiences now with LG…
I have 2 bad experiences now with LG products. First was TV, lasted 15 months and started getting lines on screen. Second, bought a Washer/Dryer set because consumer reports rated high. WRONG! Dryers main control board went in less than 2 yrs and I paid a company (prior LG employee) to come look at it. After $65 service call fee, I found it was going to cost over $450+ to fix it. The dryer cost $999.1/2 the cost of purchase to repair for a dryer less than 2 yrs! Customer service is non-existent! You can't get a customer service rep in the US to take escalate your call after 5 weeks of trying, IM DONE WITH LG PRODUCTS AND IF YOU VALUE YOUR PRODUCTS, YOU WILL BE TOO!

LG TV server has serious connectivity issues, very difficult to establish a LG TV account using TV software & home WiFi. Worst TV software programming ever, 2022 TVs (without a LG account user CAN NOT add software) & the 2021 TVs while using channel manager list mode, users can only add or delete channels while in their Edit Favorites list. So, after you numerically 1st time set up your favorites list, adding channels later will place that channel at the bottom of your list, you CAN NOT move that channel up or down to place it in numerical order nor does the list auto numerical channels in proper order, so that newly added channel functions out of order. Who designed this software? Bottomline: Stupid Engineering by LG. Save your money, spend it on quality and consider purchasing a Samsung TV. LG does not care about improving the user functionality of their TV software.

The absolute worst customer service and worst appliance company. We purchased a washer dryer unit from them, and after only 6 months of use the drum in the dryer broke. Instead of taking responsibility knowing very well that this is in fact a manufacturing defect, they REFUSE to replace the unit and instead informed us that they will only repair it. My concern is that once this is out of the warranty bracket and this issue were to arise again its going to come out of my pocket to repair or replace the unit. Do not purchase anything from them because if your appliance breaks down on you, you are out of luck. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE and AWFUL COMPANY WITH HORRIBLE PRODUCTS.

Used Customer Reports to find a reasonably priced but quality washer and dryer. The set we chose was an LG washer and dryer. The washer came in and is working just fine, I've only had it for a few days but I like it. I would probably like my dryer to, only it arrived damaged, so the driver had me refuse the delivery due to damage. We took photos, I signed some papers and the delivery guy told me to go ahead and reach out to LG to start the refund process. All of this is normal and not upsetting, I understand that items do and will from time-to-time get damaged in transit. What doesn't make sense is LG's convoluted returns process. Instead of seeing that the delivery was refused because it was damaged and just sending me a new one. The onus is on the customer to reach out to LG and tell them it's being returned. Then you need to double check the price, in case it's gone up, which mine did because it was originally a Black Friday purchase, and request a promo code before re-ordering to get it at the price you originally paid. Then they can't even tell me what time frame my refund will be processed, and I don't care to re-order until the refund has gone through, and I'm in the middle of asking if they will expedite the shipping of my dryer when I do go to order it. But I'm willing to bet the answer is no because they clearly don't care about their customers or they would have processes that reflect it. Poor, poor customer service, the 1.72 star rating is not a surprise. And I don't usually write reviews, but I thought I should this time.

I bought a new LG dishwasher in 2019. The manufacturer provided a one-year warranty but the motor is warrantied for 10-years. At 13-months the motor failed. Like many companies, LG has off-shored their customer service. This issue with that is those tend to be phone farms staffed with non-company employees who follow scripts; they don't solve problems for customers generally. Moreover, those folks seem to be trained to wear you out so you will go away. They did absolutely nothing for me!

Next, I tracked down a VP of product at LG via Linkedin and he hooked me up with an in internal resource who tried to help, but even she couldn't get the motor replaced. She did send me a check for $500 to cover my costs for the repair technician that should have been covered by the warranty, which is was grateful for.

In the end, I found a motor sitting atop a massive pile of old appliances at a local used appliance store that my technician was able to modify to work in the machine. The dishwasher is working today through no help from LG, although there's a fan that clicks loudly when it starts during the drying cycle, but it's not as annoying as the screaming motor was!
In short, LG's customer (no) support is dismal at best; LG does not stand behind their products. As a result, I found out that very few repair companies will work on LG (and Samsung) products, so you're just buying a boat anchor b/c it will fail eventually. Therefore, I will NEVER buy another LG product! I don't care how sexy or inexpensive it may be, I won't touch them. Buy at your own risk!

Recently purchased a high-end LG OLED CX SERIES 48" TV. Came new in sealed box with incorrect stand component - packaged at LG itself! Called Costco (seller) and was transferred to LG customer service. In sum, I was LIED to numerous times on different calls by LG personnel. I finally discovered that the correct part which I was missing is not in stock or available at LG. Of course, this was another LIE to fit in with LIES about shipping data, promises to update my case with timely emails, etc. Going forward, I'll stick with Sony - a truly class act. At LG, there's more interest in revenues and profits than in customer service and satisfaction. Ultimately returned LG unit to Costco.

4 year old LG French-door fridge just... quit working. It's the compressor. It's always the compressor on these lemons (wish I had researched them better before spending $2200). There is a slim chance that it's a freon leak. After two hours of answering stupid questions with online support, I finally convince them I know what the F I'm talking about. It's covered under the 10-year warranty, right? Sure... except there are no techs in my rural area. At all. The other option was to ask a local repairman to come out at least twice. Once to diagnose the problem, then THEY'D have to deal with LG CS to get a "letter of authorization" and have the parts shipped to them, then come back out to install it. All on my dime.

Every repairman I called heard "LG" and took a hard pass. Over the phone. Without even charging me to come look at it. Even THEY don't want to deal the LG CS. Said it wasn't worth their time. Even when the labor was covered under the warranty, it took them MONTHS to get paid.

So, I get to buy a new fridge. Guess what brand it WON'T be? "Lackadaisical Garbage."

Purchased convection oven 02/21/16. Installed on 03/13/16.
Used over 5 or 6 times. On 04/21/16 I used oven. About an hour later I hear something pop in the kitchen. Couldn't figure out what it was. Next day I open oven door and inside glass on oven door was shattered into thousands of pieces.

I call LG. They send repairman who comes to my house on 04/27. He takes picture of door and leaves. On 05/11 I call repair place. They are surprised LG hasn't called me. He advised LG said damage was 'cosmetic' and is only covered for one week under warranty.

I call LG and ask to speak to supervisor. Supervisor does best to get me off the phone. I tried to explain that this was not cosmetic but probably a flaw during manufacturing or transport. He kept saying cosmetic over and over.

I am trying our State Attorney General's office to get LG to pay for their defective equipment they sold me.

Just got a call from repair place advising me they would fix the problem for $200.00 which is about 22% of what I paid for the oven. I advised I would try to fix it myself.

Terrible customer service after sale. They do not stand by their products. Never trust LG.

My LG Dishwasher is 5 years old and now broken the 2nd time. They pushed a $345 repair appt and said could cancel with 1 day notice. I called with 3 day notice and the call through 3 and several long holds, 33 min in all, finally got the appointment canceled. Also $345 repair hold charge (90 day warranty) against $400-500 (1 year warranty) for a new unit is just a no Brainer. I trashed an LG microwave after 5 years and now an LG Dishwasher after 5 years. With this last repair/replacement dealing, I'm personally done with LG.

AVOID LG AND PACIFICA
December 28, 2023

I have had no choice but to select 1 star this company is the worst for washing machines do not buy! My washing machine had problems after 3 weeks of receiving it and I wish I had returned it when I had the chance. They are noisy too. Also when it breaks down and under warantee LG send awful engineers out from there third party company called PACIFICA. There engineer that came to my property to fix a simple problem to my working washing machine broke the motor and I have been without of a washing machine since November. Both LG and Pacifica have been unhelpful. They don't communicate well with their customers or even each other. They keep attending my property with no parts. The RSM Mike Tonks is useless you can't get through to him and he just sends out engineers without the part. My washing machine was BER after Pacifica engineer broke the motor but they changed their mind. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LG! Their customer service is also terrible. PLEASE DO NOT USE PACIFICA TOO!

They came to my home to fix it 5 times with no chanrge results and AS PER SAMANTHA the main manager at LG they will not exchange a product unless is none repairable... hence mine was fixed 5 times and it remains the same after 4 months... tossed it to the middle of my yard and I am currently enjoying the view on how the Florida sun takes care of this problem... Saving money
September 30, 2023

The dishwasher works the way one expects. After 4 years the tub gasket mounted on the door needed to be replaced. The LG OEM part was available, costing only $45 including delivery from Amazon. The problem was with the LG customer service. After emailing, texting and telephone inquiries with customer service no representative could provide anything related to installation instructions for removal and replacement of the tub door gasket. Even their contractor for service failed to return telephone calls. The YouTube videos that they referenced was for other models that weren't LG. It's like asking a mechanic to use a Tesla manual to work on a Mazda vehicle. The good news is that I am mechanically inclined and had the part replaced in 1.5 hours. I would not recommend giving this a try unless you are comfortable and confident about your skills. This LG experience will have an impact on my future appliances to be purchased. Help for repairing LG appliances does not weigh on their customer service representatives as much as the company itself. If LG cannot provide installation instructions on their parts then what good are they. Saved myself hundreds of dollars in service fees.

Tub gasket replacement next to old gasket not removed from door yet.
Door hinges have to be removed before replacing gasket.

Televisions stink
September 22, 2022

My $1000 television is three years old, yes, it is out of warranty… But I guess after three years you just have to throw them away… I have had other brand TVs much much longer and they work perfectly… This is a connectivity problem where it will no longer connect to the Internet unless I sign in to my Wi-Fi each and every time I want to watch anything… If I watch anything more than 15 minutes stops and I have to reassign and look at them… Because it is out of warranty they gave me the number of a provider who could potentially fix it… It will cost more to fix then to buy a new TV… I will never buy another LG product again

I ordered a washer and dryer combo and it was delivered without the necessary parts to have the machines both up and running (missing fill hose, etc.). The dryer storage pedestal also arrived damaged. I called LG customer service on the day the washer/dryer was delivered to report these issues and spent 1.5 hours on the phone with customer service to get the issue resolved. I was told by the customer service agent that they'll speak with the appropriate team to get the necessary parts that were supposed to come with my washer/dryer combo delivered to me. One week later, I haven't heard back. I call again and spend nearly 3 hours on the phone, on hold for most of that time, and each time I'm put off hold, it's a new customer service agent speaking with me. I had to explain my problem at least ten times. I will never buy directly from LG again. This is such a painful, difficult experience. Business and customer service shouldn't be managed like this. The parts should have arrived in the first place. I shouldn't have to spend over 4 hours trying to get the problem resolved, only to wait again to see if the parts will eventually arrive. HORRIBLE!

HORRIBLE "Customer Service" delivered during a "fully covered" warrantee repair on our LG Refrigerator. How did I, and how would anyone, manage to go without a refrigerator for 2 MONTHS while these "Customer Service" clowns work out the procedures for a Letter of Authorization to be granted to a servicer to repair a new refrigerator still under full warranty? They covered the part (although it took several parts which we NOT covered to repair the unit) and labor leaving me with a $500 cost to pay for a fully warranted repair! 2 months and several (more than 6) calls to customer service is enough to teach me a valuable lesson. Fool me once... Never again.

I bought an LG refrigerator new from Lowe's in January 2020. 2. 5 years later in July 2022 the compressor failed and we lost all contents of our freezer and refrigerator. We contacted LG, along with several repair techs and it was confirmed that our compressor had failed. We could not find anyone willing to fix it and LG refused to help get us a repair tech and refused to honor their 5 year parts and labor warranty on the compressor. We had no choice but to buy a new unit. I could not believe this treatment from such a large and well-known corporation so I googled this issue to see if anyone else encountered this. WOW now I know what horrible ethics this company has and how greedy they are and how little they take care of their consumers! They had a class action lawsuit against them for this very issue that happened with my refrigerator, and they STILL have given me the runaround and have refused to help. Now, after complaining to the BBB, they are somehow able to find a tech that can come to my house sending someone out to 'fix' my unit more than 5 weeks later. That does me NO good at this point and they know it. What a smack in the face! A refund and reimbursement for lost food would be the RIGHT thing for this multimillion dollar corporation to do.
