LegalZoom charges 3-4 times more $ than most other Registered Agents. After telling LegalZoom I was not renewing my subscription in December 2021, getting a new Registered Agent in February, I receive an email from them on June 17th, it was time to renew. I emailed back, saying I have a new Agent. LegalZoom sent me an email saying they would not be renewing my subscription. On the very same day, LegalZoom charged my credit card $249 for yearly fee. I canceled my credit card and disputed this transaction. I have their email saying they were removing me from subscription, my yearly fee was due back in December 2021. This company will attempt fraud, imagine how many times they charge on people's credit cards, hoping no one sees or disputes the charge. A immoral company, stay away!

We sold our business at the beginning of 2022. No longer needing a registered agent, I went to LegalZoom to cancel the service. They refused to do so without the name of a new agent. So I sent the paperwork to the state of Florida, plus $25 fee and sent the paperwork to Legalzoom as well naming myself as new registered agent. Upon uploading the paperwork I get a screen that says "Account Canceled" I changed our account to manual payments and cancelled auto renew. I even added a one time use credit card number that I afterwards cancelled so it could not be charged.
4 months later. Charged 299 for auto renewal on card they should no longer have. Check out the picture attached. Manual payments evidently means they will manually take your money from your account without your permission.

The most skilled employees are the slick salesmen, not the lawyers. They bait-and-switch to sell you the most expensive products, offer little justifications other than "this is required by fed/state law". "Registered Agent" is perfect example of hooking you into recurring payments. They set themselves up with the state to receive correspondence on your business. If you want to cancel the recurring charge, you have to file the revised paperwork with the state, and they won't help you, saying, "we're not familiar with the laws in all 50 states". When forced to explain legal terms, they are condescending, and stingy with information. Their Website advertises "Setup your business in 7 to 10 days" It actually took 6 weeks, because they misfiled papers, failed to contact us when papers were approved, and blamed it on delays in the state/fed government.

I was extremely disappointed that Legalzoom didn't mention anything about the publishing requirements i NYC after I had a long conversation with them about the different costs per state. Customer service was useless thereafter. There are cheaper options like registering the LLC ones self

This company is a complete and utter joke. I had them file for a trademark application for me. I paid extra because I thought they were experienced and knew what they were doing. Got a letter back from the USPTO to clarify something. I contacted LegalZoom after countless emails and calls. They told me they were not attorney's that I should contact a trademark attorney to assist me. They completely and utterly dropped the ball and left me out to dry. This is probably after numerous minutes of hold time.
I would advise you find someone else to help you with your Trademark application. LegalZoom has no legal staff nor do they have any sort of expertise with filing Trademark applications. To make things worse you can never find anyone to answer the phone. IMHO this is one of the worst companies ever.

I've been unimpressed with LegalZoom's process. I am attempting to incorporate in PA, my home state. It's taken over two months and I still am not incorporated! There have been multiple delays on the LZ side with no communication back to me. Example issue: they initially asked me to describe my business, so I said "engineering consulting". Then I heard nothing for a week. When I checked on my status it said "delayed." So I called LZ and they said that PA regulates the use of the word "engineering" and had rejected my application. LZ couldn't have told that to me at the time?! Same thing happened with my business name: I suggested a preferred and two alternates. A week or two went by and when I checked the LZ website it said my application was delayed. Again I called and was told "sorry, all three names were taken." LZ couldn't check that sooner and notify me?

Legalzoom are aware of what they are doing, but when it comes to making updates or changes to something, it seems like the expertise stops. I've had them change the address several times because they cannot get it right (although spelled out on phone and repeated back to me, I've emailed to them as well). They've called to state that the specimen wasn't sufficient, I submitted a new specimen and it was approved. When they submitted the trademark for approval, in both my trademark cases, they attached what they specifically had said was not sufficient (Both orders). This is a poor way of handling customer service. Legalzoom needs to understand that picking up the phone and having a person there doesn't really mean that customer service is good.

I found it their lawyer team is great. However, for their customer representative team, it depends on your luck. I would say 50% of the time, you got a very nice and knowledgable one. Another 50% don't know what they are doing and won't try to help. I would pay if you want a good advice from their attorney. If you want some answers about all the documents and other things. You probably have to call two or three times to make sure you go the right answer. The customer representative claims that there is no way for them to call us back if the line is dropped. So, it is a good excuse for them to hang up on you if they don't want to speak with you anymore.

I had a simple straight forward question on signing a trademark. I thought the lady on the phone was very rude and condescending. If you ask me, that's probably the worst tone for a customer service agent to have. I would give zero star if this review was strictly for customer service that I just experienced.
