So I received this as a benefit from work and thought it would be a great idea for legal advice. Well a year later my wife decided she didn't want to be with me anymore so after being separated for 6months we agreed to use this service to go through with our divorce since we had agreed upon everything and with kids involved we thought maybe it would be smarter. Well the first lawyer I talked to was great gave advice explained some of the things we had questions on. So got the money together for court cost and sent them the money and then all the paperwork. This was October of 2021 after 3 weeks of them receiving the paperwork I hadn't heard anything about it. So called and was told the paper floated around the office and was Finally at the attorney in the office who would be handing the case. I was told they would call. By the end of the next week another 2weeks I called again. They said that the attorney was not in the office but they would have him contact me. Later that after he called and apologized it was taking so long and he would have it to me in a week or 2 at the latest. We are now in December and the first draft was not correct second time was sent had some. Errors and missing items. So called and talked to him. Asked some questions he was rude and acted like I was ruining his day. So filled out and fixed and sent back now into January February still nothing paperwork comes back to be notarized and signed by both of us. now it's March and she has changed jobs and insurance info has changed so she informs him and I received from him. Dayimg how tired of this he is and this needs to stop and how we need to agree on this as per terms. I gave him the information. Finally in April the paperwork was filed and we have a court date. I should have just used legal zoom would have been done before 6moths.
I requested my subscription canceled. They shut off my account benefits but continue to take my money. Not sure this is legal

I had been a legalshield member for 3 years when I attempted to use my membership to get legal support. I submitted the form to get support several times to include- 6/12/2021 7/19/2021 8/10/2021 Neither Legalshield nor my assigned provider ever contacted me. I finally attempted to get support for a different issue in March 2022. For the first time, a provider actually called me. I gave them my information and asked to escalate. Then they went silent again. On April 19th 2022, I received a survey from Legalshield, which I rated as very low. Their loss prevention people began calling me. I asked for another provider but they said they cannot do that. At this point, it was clear that Legalshield had no intent of ever providing me a service

I had a court date so I signed up for Legalshield. I was unable to use the service because the event happened before I signed up. They referred me to another attorney who went to court and got my driving record cleared up. I was a happy customer and was glad I had signed up.
Now I am having a tenant/landlord problem. They have sided with the landlord and have given me no legal advice. This landlord has threatened me and their advice is to be a sitting duck and wait to see what she does next. I'm locked in for a year but after that I will have to think long and hard before I continue to pay for bad advise.

This is even worse than I first reported. As you can see they have responded saying that they don't want me to go through a legal situation alone. Well, that is exactly what they have left me to do. I received no legal advice from Valerie Dance. The only thing she told me is to wait and see what my landlord does next. Really! They also say that I can call Legal Sheild Member Services to speak to someone. Well, I just called and got no one to answer the phone. All I got was a recording telling me to use the app. Do not waste your money on these SCAMMERS.

This me concept seems worth while although do not expect to get any attorney of quality. The attorneys they have are worse then an appointed court attorney. This program is for attorneys who would never make in their own practice. To cancel your service one you figure out that you will never receive a call back from any attorney and just delays your case more it takes an act of Congress to go through prompts and get a rep only to tell you the cancellation of membership must be put in writing. Total scam! They should be investigated by the FBI.
This program collects a lot of money for no services being rendered.

After being a member for 8 years, all the suddenly received a "LegalShield" letter from the provider services saying my membership was cancelled without notice.
I contact eh corporate multiple times and ask why the respondents said they can cancel the membership anytime if they want to.
I will not recommend using this company's service because they cancel the membership without notice when they know you need to use their membership the most. This company toss their members like toss garbage when their members need the service the most.
I also suspect that people forged this membership cancellation letter because nobody name * as Senior director in the provider services. When I reported to the head office about the membership cancellation fraud issue, nobody did anything. The head office administrative team is not smart enough to protect their member's benefits.

Though it is rare, there are some reasons a membership may be canceled per company option, whether by PPLSI or a PPLSI Provider Law Firm. This information can be located in any membership contract as well as online at: http://contracts.legalshield.com/contracts/LSESSOK.821.pdf.
When a membership is canceled per company option, PPLSI notifies the member by a dated and signed letter, explaining the matter and advising if any refund will be processed. If the Company cancels the Contract, Services will only be provided for those events reported in writing to the Provider Law Firm during the Eligibility Period.

They were horrible this time around, They called after hours and when I tried to call back immediately, I encountered a message that they could not talk to me after hours. I then set an appointment. The woman stood me up. When I called to see why she did not call me, I was left on hold for twenty minutes a second time, I am extremely appalled how treat legal shield members are second-class citizens, who pay a monthly fee, if they are not retained full-paying clients. The lawyer did finally get back to me. Apparently, the schedulers had double booked her. No excuse. This put me behind on ever task for the rest of the day. I think this is a scam to get clients. I liked the lawyer but did not like the process.

New attorneys offering opinions that are not researched or supported. IF they agree to send a letter on your behalf it is worthless and designed to produce little if any result, just an impressive letterhead. This is by design. The idea is to suck you into paying for attorney services and pretend to give you a discount.

Your legal plan provides you a preferred member discount of 25% off your lawyer’s standard hourly rate for services not specifically covered under another benefit of your plan. A retainer fee may be needed to receive legal assistance under this benefit. It is up to the discretion of the attorney how and when payments can be made. You can pay them on time. Every month, for a decade. When you need them they will not fulfill the promises in their contract. They will make up lies to get out of it. When you sue them in small claims court, they get your case dismissed by claiming you agreed to arbitrate. Their salesmen hate them because it is Multi Level Marketing and 99% of the salesmen are supporting the upper 1% without ever even breaking even.

I've been using LegalShield for almost a year and it's an OK site. But you're only going to get legal advice since some areas will get referred to a lawyer outside of LS which you'll be responsible for retaining. So you really won't get much for $17.99 a month
Note***** I canceled the service as of March 15th because I felt that this is just a referral service and also keep in mind not all specialties are serviced on here and that if you're referred out it's at a 25% discount. Also, customer service asks too many questions as to why you wish to cancel your service trying to guilt trip you into staying when you're not getting anything out of it. I gave it a year and I don't see how they're helping me when I am just wasting money.
Hello, let us begin with an apology for the late response, we have just started monitoring this site. The legal system requires every law firm to perform a conflict check. Ethically a law firm cannot represent a client if they have previously represented the adverse party. Unlike other subscription services like Spotify and Netflix, LegalShield requires cancellation requests to be submitted in writing. We must ensure that the person requesting cancellation is authorized to do so. We do this to protect members as upcoming legal situations can cause individuals in the same household (and on the same membership) to take actions that may not be in the best interest of everyone involved.
So far so good. Signed up for this a few months ago. And im getting what i was promised. Access to real lawyers when i need advice over the phone. It works best if you prep all your questions ahead of time before calling. Because i kept thinking of mre questions and had to keep calling back, and thats a bit of a hasstle
