Quality Has Dropped

I've been buying from JTV for about 4 years now. I have received some magnificent pieces, particularly in the moissanite line, so it's not been all bad. But one product comes to mind... I bought a 3ct princess cut moissanite ring in gold over about 2 years ago. Loved the ring and wore it a lot, yet was very careful with it. About 3 months ago, the band, setting and prongs started turning black with tarnish. I would bring it to the jeweler to have it cleaned and the next week the same thing would happen. He raved about the stone, so I decided to have him save the stone and design me the same ring, but in 14K gold. $3,000 later, it is a stunner of a ring now -- the stone should have been in solid gold to begin with. But I feel like I've been duped -- I paid about $700 for that gold over ring, that lasted all of 2 years. And if I couldn't have afforded to have a new ring created, I would have had to throw the ring in the trash. Costume jewelry lasts longer than that! I remember the old Monet gold chains that would stay as shiny as real gold for 20 years! My advice -- do not ever buy gold over anything from JTV -- unless you planning on purchasing a disposable product.

JTV, in my opinion, is a clearing house for subpar gems. Everything I've purchased is slightly imperfect. On air, everything sparkles. The television platform is staged with bright lights. The sales associates create an urgency for buying before items sell out.

Prices could go up or down by $50 to $100 in the same day, which is infuriating. There's nothing like buying a ring one morning, and finding it discounted by $65.00 in the evening.

I have purchased an embarrassing quantity of jewelry from this venue over the years. Everything from silver to 14K. However, the "divorce is coming," as any resemblance of quality, is completely lacking: flawed stones, stones advertised as colored, yet are completely colorless; rough edges on prongs, poorly set or crooked stones, stones like moonstone advertised as reflective or colorful … but really looking like grey chunks of nothing in fancy settings. I feel JTV markets to an uninformed or new viewer, thus, taking advantage of them. Those of us who know better based on repeated experiences, need to make others (new shoppers), aware that what is advertised may not look anything close to what you receive. I've been and still am returning, a few recent purchases. The quality is poor. My suggestion to leadership teams is offering a ring for example, tanzanite; but offer the customer choices and price ranges to choose from by offering a good, better, best gem stone. Offer a setting with gold over silver, or in 10K or 14K. Also, why not have an actual "clearinghouse" for pieces that are returned. Give shoppers an opportunity to purchase "final sale, no exchanges or returns" items at a deep discount. I think if customers had a say in what they chose to purchase, knowing upfront they are buying something slightly imperfect, there would be a lot less frustrated or angry consumers. Overall, I'm disappointed in this shopping venue and have lost confidence in them.

Absolute garbage

I left this review on the ring I bought that was supposedly a sparkly CZ. They sent me an email saying they wouldn't publish it. I was able to leave a somewhat watered down review. I'll never buy from them again.

"Received this ring today. The CZs on the shoulders and in the halo are sparkly. The morganite simulant main stone however, reflects just about zero light and is dull and lifeless. It's certainly not a CZ, I doubt it's lead crystal or even glass for that matter. Close inspection shows that the "Morganite" is not cut the same way as the ring in the listing photograph. This ring is only a slight step up from something you'd get from a bubble gum machine. Don't waste your money."

They can show and sell all the gemstone crosses they want and talk big about faith but if they're showing an item and they send something that's nowhere near the quality of what they've shown, they are flat out lying to the customer. How does that fit in with their good ole "Southern Christian" image??? Hilarious.

I think it is disgraceful how they have a team of people posting FAKE five Star Reviews anywhere and everywhere possible, moreover they control weather or not an actual customer review gets posted to their site or not. Furthermore there is no purchase verification system in place in order to post a review on JTV's site. So what does this mean... ANYONE CAN WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS regardless if you actually purchased the item or not as long as you provide a genuine email address and make your review a positive one... it will get posted. So what has happened here is they have staff posting fake 5 star reviews on everything they sell. They omit (never publish) a majority of the negative customer reviews and the small percentage(of genuine negative customer reviews) that they do allow to slip by they immediately counter balance the numbers by posting 10 fake 5 star reviews to erase and bad ones. IT IS DISGRACEFUL! Look at Googles reviews about them... it's 4.8 out of 5 stars and you can clearly see where the same unknown person who is identified only as "REVIEWER" has posted multiple 4 star reviews over and over and over all with the same time stamp... it is so sickeningly OBVIOUS and it makes me sick! This jewelry is CHEAP CHINESE CRAP and the plating wears away in a week... BUYER BEWARE

Nothing But Mistakes

I wanted to order by phone, and called to see if my JTV Preferred account could be reopened. I was told it was still open. That wasnt true. My order was carted, and my donation to AHA wasnt made. I called later to add an item, and asked if my JTV Preferredaccount was open, and told yes. I asked her to finish the sale. She said she did. I called back later to add an item and was told I had an item in the cart, did I want it. I said I was buying, not carting, and couldnt understand why they didnt want to complete the sale. I asked for a manager and was hung up on. I called again and asked for a manager. My call was not put through, and didnt sound like it was in a phone system at all. I wasted 2 hours not shopping with JTV today because no one was smart enough to tell me my account needed to be reopened, instead of saying it was. I wasted my time and got nothing but being hung up on and put on a non-hold also. Their agents are very unhelpful and give wrong answers. Dont waste your timewithJTV. They dont care. Their agents get away with all kinds of mistakes and are even argumentative.

Hello June, this experience is not something you should have been put through and for that we apologize. We've taken this feedback and have forwarded it to our customer care manager to make sure it is addressed and so that it won't happen again. Our agents are unable to see whether or not a JTV Preferred account is open or not as we are not the ones who manage that information, the agents can only see if you have a card on your account. It's the same if you went to a store to buy something on your credit card, the cashier cannot tell if your account is active or not and can only swipe the card. I was totally shocked when I stumbled across this site and saw so many negative reviews. I have purchased a good deal of jewelry from JTV, and wii continue to to do so happily and without hesitation. I've bought fine quality jewelry, as well as costume pieces, including diamonds and gemstones and freshwater pearls. I have been absolutely blown away by the beauty and value of what I have purchased. I have been searching for 20+ years to find a tanzanite ring with good tanzanite color at a price I felt comfortable with. The attached photo is of my December 2020 purchase from JTV. Is it the best color tanzanite I have ever seen? Nope, but it also didn't have a price tag of 45k. I also enjoyed the knowledge of gemstones that the hosts share with us, as well as the opportunity to see gemstones that I have never heard of or seen anywhere else. Rutilated quartz is unusual, beautiful, available and affordable from JTV. If you buy a $49 diamond ring you are not going to get flawless, colorless diamonds. If you expect the highest quality at rock bottom prices, it ain't gonna happen. But if you want beautiful jewelry at prices regular people can afford, you cannot go wrong shopping JTV. I have also returned several items, mostly because I found something else I liked more. The process couldn't be easier, and I have had nothing but courteous and knowledgeable service reps when I have needed help.

Cheap and dentediI

I bought a bracelet the end of May 2021. It came a few days later. It was 10k gold, however it was very lightweight and a little cheap looking but it was only 250. Two links were crushed but I didnt feel like sending it back. (My fault). I wake up this morning bracelet broke. It feel apart from one of the crushed links. I could have lost it so easily. I cant where mystery metals, only gold. I shouldnt have kept it. I have ordered many times from Jtv, this was the worst piece of junk I ever saw, considering it was gold. I didnt get many options, I wanted a bracelet for everyday. So they are supposedly sending me a new one. I have to go to Post Office, pay to get it shipped and insured. Like so many things, Jtv jas disappointed me immensely. Jow could someone actually package that and send it like that. I like to watch Nikki, that is the person that presented this bracelet. I will be hesitant from buying anything. I would really like to see something else but I will take back the original. I am so disgruntled by this piece of junk you sent me.

Beware of their changing policies without notifying you! I am deeply disappointed in the lack of communication with them! I was impressed with my initial order. I received it quickly, but when I placed another order, the price was increased $100. I thought it was on waitlist but as a first time buyer, their was some confusion. They did not appear to want to keep me a customer. I placed the order with a supervisor and another online order within 1/2 hour later. They brag about sending out the order within 10 hours. I checked the status and had to call them 17 hours later to find out my order was put on hold because I sent a gift to a relative which was a different address! I received nothing to know that it was held by their Consumer Protection division aka "Fraud!" The two items totaled aproximately $200 on my credit card. I was asked by their representative, did my credit card company know I was sending items to another adddress! This is 2023, how dare they question who and where I send the items to!
