JTV, in my opinion, is a clearing house for subpar gems. Everything I've purchased is slightly imperfect. On air, everything sparkles. The television platform is staged with bright lights. The sales associates create an urgency for buying before items sell out.

Prices could go up or down by $50 to $100 in the same day, which is infuriating. There's nothing like buying a ring one morning, and finding it discounted by $65.00 in the evening.

I have purchased an embarrassing quantity of jewelry from this venue over the years. Everything from silver to 14K. However, the "divorce is coming," as any resemblance of quality, is completely lacking: flawed stones, stones advertised as colored, yet are completely colorless; rough edges on prongs, poorly set or crooked stones, stones like moonstone advertised as reflective or colorful … but really looking like grey chunks of nothing in fancy settings. I feel JTV markets to an uninformed or new viewer, thus, taking advantage of them. Those of us who know better based on repeated experiences, need to make others (new shoppers), aware that what is advertised may not look anything close to what you receive. I've been and still am returning, a few recent purchases. The quality is poor. My suggestion to leadership teams is offering a ring for example, tanzanite; but offer the customer choices and price ranges to choose from by offering a good, better, best gem stone. Offer a setting with gold over silver, or in 10K or 14K. Also, why not have an actual "clearinghouse" for pieces that are returned. Give shoppers an opportunity to purchase "final sale, no exchanges or returns" items at a deep discount. I think if customers had a say in what they chose to purchase, knowing upfront they are buying something slightly imperfect, there would be a lot less frustrated or angry consumers. Overall, I'm disappointed in this shopping venue and have lost confidence in them.
