Hewlett-Packard you used to be the best pc producers in the universe. Why did you slack in the last 7-8years? For the first time in more than 15yrs I am considering changing to another brand.
I bought an HP laptop in October 2016 for over $1400 at Best Buy. I needed it for business purposes and let me tell you... WORST PURCHASE. DO NOT buy ANYTHING HP E. V. E. R. I've lost over $4000 in profits in less than a few months just because the laptop decides to shut off when it wants too. Freezing everything first and NOT BEING ABLE TO RECOVER ANYTHING once you restart it. Even if I saved the files before anything happens, it only "remembers" it from an hour prior. I've called numerous times, and even tried making a complaint. Instead, they transfer me to 6 different agents, whom I have to repeat EVERYTHING over again, and then keep me on hold until I've had enough of waiting for over 45 minutes. I even called head office in California and they transferred me back to the same people, whom then transferred me another 6 times. NO ONE HELPED ME. The agents wasted my time by going in to my computer and "updating" everything AND still the problem is the same. I tell them that, their response was "O. K. ma'am, I'll call you tomorrow"? I spoke to the Geek Squad that the store initially where I bought it, includes them to repair, etc. After wasting my time with them, they had told me to contact HP as it's a hardware problem, and that's the explanation of where this fraudulent company begins with me. They couldn't do nothing. So here I am today, letting you know from entrepreneur to another, do not purchase HP unless you are willing to lose money with no help at all. Never again. They should be ashamed of themselves.
COMPLICIT IN CONGO GENCIDE! HP is complicit in the genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo They support the suffering of millions of people who are killed, assaulted, displaced, and forced to mine coltan.
@HPIndia Never buy HP products, I bought 15CS1002tx worth RS. ******* and it was a defected product, HP replaced it after 2 mnths & gave another defected product & now they again agreed that product is defected and asking me to replace with another hp laptop, see u in Consumer court. I sent an mail to *******@SumeerChandra stating the details of my case but looks like HP mgmt team don't have the decency to reply back to customers. They just want to sell defected products like 3 defected laptops in my case, torture customers for months & say do what ever u want.
I am giving a friend's advice... NEVER BUY HP PRODUCTS!
Or at least not their printers.
Imagine that you cant work with your printer if you dont create an account, you cant scan...
You literally can't use their printers offline.
This is the most frustrating printer I ever had and believe me I will never buy HP again.
I have an all-in -one series 2600 deskjet.
The scan feature is just a complete mess. I cant scan without the account (like WHY? I dont even have control on where my documents go! Why an acount? Are they checking every document I scan!?)
So, thescan works once out of 5. Saying there is a problem and I cannot scan. I have to log out and log back in... and it not always fix the problem.
I have a color printer and there is no option to print in color. So i empty my black, never had to changed color catridge because it never gets use.
I tried to reach out but they just plainly ignore me. There is no support nor contact info. Only their ridiculous support website. Its all computer so since my problem is not common, I dont find the solution on their support page. And there is NO ONE to talk to. I found a contact after searching for some time, wrote them a polite message and I never got a word back.
They basically DONT care about their customers and their products are like a chocker around my neck. Cant work without an account. It a damn printer and I sometimes like to work offline but I just cant! Ot with HP products!
The printer works OK USB from PC to the printer. The printer also has ability to print from cell phone over WIFI direct, WIFI network and has own email address to print over email over HP server but it's impossible to setup. Even after removing all firewalls. Called HP customer service who were unable to make it work after 1.5 hours on line. Month later I call again and HP representative demanded about $52 reoccurring subscription for technical support. He didn't want to hear what kind of problem I was having. He sounded stern and demanded credit card payment beforehand. With no choice I payed. Than he directed me to different department. I had to give control over my PC for half an hour to an representative who barely spoke English. The printer still never worked and I demand my money back. He said that will take 7 to 10 days. I spent many days to try to make it work and it started to work for one session of printing. I'm not an tech naive
Person. After that one time I shut down PC and the printer. Attempted to print again and nothing is possible to establish again except direct USB to the PC. The customer service is tyrannical. The product is nightmare. I waisted many days to try to make it work it's embarrassing. HD.
Product breaks down as soon as it's out of warranty and then they charge you to get someone on the phone. Terrible.
Our HP PAVILION DESKTOP COMPUTER still under warranty (cost almost $1400) less than a year old and barely used do to my spouse having severe medical issues (all of 2021 so far) to this day a nurse still have to come in to assist. The computer started to update BIOS REPEATEDLY LOOPING. HP tech attempted to help walk me through to fix issue, but to no avail. Advised computer would need to be shipped in for service. Today I read a response from HP that there's a LCD CRACK. WHAT unbelievable. Now HP wants me to pay $300 more dollars to fix a LCD CRACK. How did this happen the computer was on a desk and never moved off desk till it had to be shipped to HP. THIS FEELS SO UNREAL AND UNFAIR if this damage is there, was caused in transit. Im given 2 choices proceed with repair info on how to enter my credit card info. 2nd choice reject repair. We will return product. Not fixing the one problem no fault of ours THE CONTINUOUS BIOS UPDATING. We have no other people in our home but the 2 of us. WE ARE BEEN CHEATED OUT OF $300 ON A PRACTICALLY UNUSED COMPUTER. NOTE THIS BIOS ISSUE IS NOT JUST AND ISSUE WITH US. I never felt comfortable with having a computer costing the above amount shipped to be repaired but was advise there was not a close Hp repair place near. NOTE I WAS TALKED INTO BUYING 2 YR EXTENDED WARRANTY & HP WANTS $300 for this added on unbelievable issue. WHAT A SCAM!
I've had bad experiences with HP previously and should have known to stay away. But guess what? I fell for their modestly competitive prices and shiny offering once again! Beware, people, of HP's marketing tactics as they will entice you to spend your hard earned money on their company. Yes, they are huge and global, but they got there in a deceitful manner which I will not support anymore.
I purchased a $1,600 laptop in July of 2009 and it started to give me trouble around May of 2010. It got to the point where I had to re-install Windows and had similar problems again just a few days ago! I called HP tech support and they advised that my warranty had run out in July and even to speak to them about any problem I had to pay them $49.95 and if it's something that can't be remedied over the phone, then I'd have to pay to ship it to them, pay for labor, pay for parts, and pay for return shipping. It was already getting into several hundred dollars. This is almost the exact experience I had previously. Their computers are like everyone else's, as ALL computer companies buy from third parties and slap it together. So I don't fault their product, I fault their service. After I explained how I was screwed once before regarding product failure just after the warranty period, I received the typical, "I"m sorry for your loss, but there's nothing I can do" routine. Oh, but they did offer to extend my warranty another year for $100, but that only included phone support! Wow, the nerve of HP!
Go with ASUS, Lenovo (IBM), or Gateway, in that order. Most companies have similar policies, but the flexibility and loyalty to customers vary drastically.
In all, I've discovered my hard drive is lame, which is a Seagate. I called them and they told me they sold ALL of the rights to the hard drive to HP and they can't help me... these corporations I tell ya... MEH is right!
I wanted to correct a few spelling errors on my original review, but the edit function would not allow me. Anyway I decided to H--- with it.
I purchased two 61XL black print cartridges in the two pack for my 4630 HP printer. The printer works flawlessly. The warranty end date on these is Aug 2017. They both failed in a very short time. They both died up! I tried returning to the seller, but I was referred to HP customer service. Well what an ordeal trying to get replacements I had already bought new ones which are just fine. Then to add insult to injury this agent tells me my printer is at fault, but she will provide an upgraded model--------- AT A REDUCED PRICE. The traners of these agents should give a them a warning. MOST HP CUSTMERS ARE NOT IDIOTS!
I'd placed an order for a new desktop, as my current one is getting rather old. I'd decided to also acquire a monitor and keyboard while I was at it, and everything was planned to ship 4-6 days after my order. The monitor and keyboard had managed to come in fine, but the Desktop had still yet to show up. No biggie, I'm used to things passing the deadlines, so I gave it another day or two. I still hear nothing from HP and decide to call them and check on the order. Turns out the package had gotten damaged during shipping and they had to take it back before processing out another one. Out of their control, stuff happens, I get it. But from here is where things turn bad. At first, I was told the order would be processed in a couple of days, and I would be able to receive it in a few more days. After those few days I call again and now they say their inspection process can take up to 8 days, and that tomorrow (the day I'm writing this review) would be the day that my package would ship out, and it would come in 1-2 business days. I called customer support today, seeing as I never got any confirmation of my desktop shipping, and waited over an hour on hold while trying to reach customer service. Upon reaching them, I was told that the department I needed to talk to had closed 15 minutes ago (again, I'd called over an hour ago at this point) and that there was nothing they could do, and that I'd have to call them again in the morning. NOW upon looking at my orders I finally have an arrival date... for mid-July. At this point it would have just been faster to cancel my order and order the same computer again, which would have only taken a week at most, so the fact that this whole process is taking almost a month seems bizarre to me. Their ability to get things to you seems to be decent when everything goes perfectly, but for the life of me I can't give them any higher than 2 stars after the pain I've had dealing with customer service and wait times.
These printers are crap says printer is working correctly. Hp says all is well smart print can't seem to find it. I will never buy hp ag again
They make you wait a month when you buy a printer in Canada. For the ink to arrive from the U.S.A. They make you contact them in every way possible - online, chat, phone, then they want to video conference with you, and see into your home, take photographs of your printer, manipulate you into typing crap codes into your computer, troubleshoot for hours. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong. Then when you cancel your online plan (what the hell do people even need online plans for when they just need to print a few sheets of paper for university classes, essays, letters? Back in the 1990s the printers actually worked. Now we are producing products to help Indians (in India) ask us how the weather is here while they hold us hostage and refuse to let us study, work, or do business.
I can't beleive the waste, the plastic, and now the multiple cartridges that finally got here and that I can't use - because they can't solve some simple issues of connectivity with a Chromebook laptop.
It really hurts to live like this, to be lured by fakes that promise so much and are actually debilitated productwise. The number of criminals in the world that creep into our homes from the Internet is obscene and perverse.
On Oct 30,2020 I placed an order at HP.com for a new computer after I lost my previous computer in Hurricane Zeta. It took nearly a month before shipping after a delay. Once shipped, it took longer than it should have, after I paid for expedited shipping. Luckily, I received the $9.83 back since the computer clearly was not expedited as I paid. Unfortunately, though, the Fedex driver left my package on the side of my house in the rain rather than on my front covered porch. Upon opening it I noticed there was some moisture on the screen. I immediately contacted HP customer support. I want my computer, however, I paid for brand NEW, undamaged and simply want some type of compensation for this and now all these issues. I have been going back and forth with a customer service agent named Barbara who has been of no help at all. She first wanted pictures, which I totally get, but it was DAYS later before I got a response and that cardboard fell apart by them. So it was trashed. Now, nearly a week later, she wants photos of the computer screen... that has already had a chance to dry after I set it in rice. I was also told there would be a 15% restocking fee to return the DAMAGED item they sent. Again, I am happy to keep it. I need it for work. However, I do request a partial refund because I received a damaged item. Nobody was even home. The shipment said a signature would be required and gave the new delivery date. The conditions they left it out, if you looked up, would show it had been raining literally all day on the day it was delivered. So there was no excuse for Fedex to leave it out as they did. However, I, as the customer who paid $2,457.86 for this computer to be brand new and delivered in perfect condition, should be treated much better than this. Because of Fedex and HP's negligence I should be refunded some of my money back as I do not know what damage that moisture did or will cause any issues long term. Additionally, the customer service has been insulting and a joke to say the least.
Bought a laptop August 2nd 2018 and did not open it for two weeks after because I moved away for school and didnt need to use it. AS SOON as I started to use it problems started coming arise with the speakers with freezing etc. I contacted customer support and after long talk and various ways of trying to fix it, HP customer tech decided it was best for me to send in my laptop (past my 15 day return period so I could not return it). I made it very clear that I could not be without the laptop for more than a week due to being in school. He assured me that was NO ISSUE. That was septemer 17. It has been a week without my laptop and was supposed to expect it back september 26. Then I got a text saying HP product was delayed to october 2 and to call "" number if that was an issue. So I called the number and the customer service tech assured me that was wrong and that my laptop will be expected back september 26. Now it is September 24 and I got another text message saying my laptop is delayed to october 05 and to call if that was an issue. So I called and the customer tech said there was nothing she could do because i cold not talk to a supervisor because they were "closing soon" with 20 minutes until closing. She suggested I call back tomorrow. They didnt help me because it is 20 minutes until closing time. I WISH I was able to say that where I worked! Now, I am expecting a call tomorrow to see what is going on with my laptop. DO NOT BUY FROM HP. I had a toshiba laptop previously for four years and no issues (passed it down to sibling), got this one and had issues the first week using it.
I will never again buy a hp product. They intentionally mess the printer up when you unsubscribe to instant ink...and yes i changed the cartridges
Ordered ink, haven't received,, no customer service... they don't respond to emails. You can't get a live person. Cant get refund. DO NOT USE HP..
My laptop has been sitting in China for seven days past delivery date of promised Delivery. Hp will not cancel order or give me a delivery date.
Horrible computer, Cursor stopped working intermittently, black box kept popping up in the upper left hand corner and it was slower than my old 5-year-old laptop and I bought the high-end model 1200.00 dollars, but the worst was trying to return it if you try online you are told it will have to be approved first by the HP kings, And I waited 6 days then finally called HP and initiated a return with a live person. It takes 5 calls at least to try and get a real person after you send it back. I was so frustrated I was almost crying. It has been returned/received 5 days ago and when I finally got a person she tells me oh they have to look at it first and make sure you aren't a crook trying to cheat them (not what she said but what she meant) I have been waiting 5 days since it was delivered to them and was told I may have to wait ten days or more and then ten days to get my money back. Provided of course that I am not a crook trying to cheat them. When I told the customer service agent how upset I was, she actually laughed. I am practically in tears and she laughed at me, wow. Maybe you will get your money back in a month if they feel like it, apparently. Don't buy an HP and if you do whatever you do don't buy it from their website, go somewhere that will just take it back without acting like they are gracing you by even allowing you to return the horrible thing and round about accusing you of being crooked. By the way I also bought two cheaper laptops as a gift for a total of 1400 dollars and they are also having cursor issues, but the recipients of the gifts don't want to have to go through all that return/repair nonsense, I assume that is the reason they do it that way hoping you will give up and just take the loss. They don't even dare to try and get them repaired, and go through all this. Instead, they are going to pay from their own pockets. Brand-new laptops that need repaired seriously?
I ordered this item (14t-dh200) and received an HP laptop yesterday. This laptop was the 14-dh1xxx model, which was NOT what I ordered. The specs and build of the laptop were so similar that it fooled even me at first. However, there was no fingerprint reader. I suspected that there was incorrect labeling of the laptop from the factory.
I called customer service, using the picture attached and the lack of a fingerprint reader as primary evidence among others. I spent 1 HOUR AND 39 MINUTES on the phone, only for the supervisor to tell me I was wrong. She even had the audacity to ask me to search on the HP laptop specs page for "fingerprint reader", which I did not find. What I discovered after was that none of the laptops on HP lists "fingerprint reader" on their specs page. When I pointed out the fingerprint reader in the product pictures, she told me the images aren't reliable. Remember that next time you think about buying from HP: their images aren't reliable. I am never purchasing from HP again.
After an entire hour of her wasting my time making me repeat myself and hundreds of different numbers, I asked for a simple return. She told me I'm paying 15% for restocking. Despite this being a defective order. I didn't know what to say. Just speculating that they intentionally brand older and unpopular laptops as new laptops for profit and to reduce excess inventory. Never wasting my time purchasing from HP again. Sticking with my Dell.
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
HP has a rating of 1.2 stars from 520 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with HP most frequently mention customer service, tech support and instant ink. HP ranks 201st among Laptops sites.
