Really frustrated with this company.

1) Cleaners that are away for weeks on end and yet no one else is rebooked to come and provide your service.

2) Cleaners that are not professional and will barely touch the place. We had maggots found in a rug in our flat literally hours after a cleaner had been. I've had to ask repeatedly that even basic tasks like hoovering be done in all rooms.

3) Our bathroom sink was damaged and no apology or warning given by the cleaner, we just came home late to find the sink jammed with water in it.

4) Same cleaner does not always come to clean so no guaranteed standard of service.

5) No ability to speak to staff on the phone to deal with these issues, just told everything must be done by email.

Worst 'Cleaning service' ever. They cancel on last minute and don't even bother sending replacement cleaners. They hang up the phone / don't respond and once even still charged me although knowingly the cleaner hadn't turn up.

Cleaners are being sent long distances across town, so they're always in a rush to finish their job earlier than the time booked and are mostly very inattentive/lazy to really do a great clean. I don't blame the cleaners, even if some of them still try harder than others. I blame housekeep that put up their prices (while not passing on a penny to their housekeepers).

Having a regular cleaner has really made my life easier, she always does a great job and leaves my home wonderfully clean! The Housekeep website is really easy to use, and the staff are extremely helpful. 10/10!

I have had only a good experience with Housekeep and their cleaners since I set up my account. Anamaria comes every week and she does a fab job. Even when she went on holiday, I could pick a different cleaner who helped me get my home ready for guests.

Disappointing experience

Unfortunately this did not happen. We booked an end of tenancy clean but there was a miscommunication and so we had to find another service provider. However, Housekeep kindly provided a full refund. Appreciate your assistance, Josef and Rachel.

I found a great cleaner
January 23, 2018

My flat gets turned into a shining hotel room every other week, so that part of it is going very well. I'm not quite sure how my cleaner does it, but I thank her.

First cleaner left after 6 months, but they found me a new one within two weeks so everything just carried on as usual.

Generally Reliable

As an overall service I'd recommend them - of course they're exposed to their cleaners (who are ultimately cleaners and hence not historically reliable) performing well, but generally I've had 90% good experiences, and they address it adequately if not.

The only issue I have is that they constantly try to leave early, so you have to ask them to stay for the full allotted time (as they'll charge you for it). But overall definitely not a scam and relatively decent service most of the time, as far as cleaning companies go I'd recommend them.

We're sorry that you've had Housekeepers try to leave early in the past though, and we would always expect that your Housekeeper stays for the full time that's been booked. If they finish early, we advise Housekeepers to ask their customers if there are any other tasks they could complete to fill the time. If your Housekeeper does finish everything early, their app will record the time taken & adjust the charge automatically. If you ever think that you've been overcharged though, please do let us know and we'll make sure it's fixed immediately.

The first thing the cleaner did was to break the bathroom mirror that falls on the sink and breaks it too. She didn't speak at all English, she left 5 minutes after that happened.
The company doesn't want to compensate explaining this is the cleaner's liability then I have to claim it back from the cleaner herself.
The cleaner's position: this is my mirror fault! And she doesn't have money anyway.
That cost me over £500!

I used housekeep for a clean, the cleaner damaged my property, I was not offered a refund and only partial credit.

The cleaner arrived for a 4 hour clean. We gave him clear instructions to focus on dusting and cleaning the bedrooms.

We left him to it and after 3 hours checked in on him and he had spent all 3 hours in the kitchen.

He used limescale remover to clean the oven, microwave and job (despite this not being requested and any decent cleaner knowing that would be damaging to those surfaces).

I then asked him to please get to the bedrooms. Which he then did. He told him he was going to need to stay longer to finish the job.

When he left, he had scuffed the walls in the bedrooms and failed to use any cleaning products in the bathrooms or bedrooms. He had also broken the hoover.

We needed to clean thoroughly the house after he left to prevent damage to our oven, tidy up after his mess and clean the scuffs and we then had to replace the hoover he had broken (we have no idea how he broke it!).

Mistakes happen, housekeep clearly can't vet all their cleaners. However when making this complaint they informed me that the maximum they would be able to compensate would be to allow 2 hours of free cleaning. Additionally they may be able to provided some account credit for the hoover.

This took them all week to do and by which point the hoover had been replaced.

I had no trust in this company to provide a cleaner who would not damage our property so I had to decline as I will not be using the credit.

My advice is to always go local, don't use this company

I have a regular cleaner every two weeks and they are great! I have recommended Housekeep to many of my friends because it is so easy to book. When our cleaner went on holiday for a couple of weeks at Christmas Housekeep arranged a cover cleaner for us so that I still had a clean as usual.

Worst service ever
September 5, 2019

Their housekeepers consistently fail to show up. This last time I decided to give their service a second chance And waited for the lady to show up. First she lied and said she was 5 min away then never showed. She gave me the wrong number that was disconnected. As this was the second time s cleaner didn't show I was very frustrated. The housekeep administration doesn't respond in a timely manner and you can't get anyone on the phone. So they tried to rectify the situation and rescheduled with a reliable cleaner 3 days later for a Friday. Promised me this one was reliable and would show. 5pm on Thursday the night before I received an email cancelling the service! Do not trust their cleaners to show up. Now I can't get anyone out before my guests arrive on Sunday!

Stay away from this SCAM company! They sent once an incompetent cleaner (see pictures) who was unable to clean correctly the most obvious spots, no dust removing, nothing at all, it seems like it was a total newbie, look at the result for 3h - it's a total joke... I complained at the company and they proposed... 20% discount at the next cleaning... No one came, I waited for 2 hours, the flat is so easy to find - never had any issue. They pretend their employee came and that's why they can't refund... It's like a Ponzi scheme, they look for all the ways to keep you paying them. Have a look at the so-called good reviews: they all look the same, with same structure - probably most are fake ones. Absolute garbage company! STAY AWAY!

Just brilliant

The housekeeper was experienced and friendly (Housekeep actually meet all of the housekeepres in person too, which is great).
The online booking system makes it really simple to book cleans, reschedule with the same houeskeeper and also leave instructions.

I would not recommend!

Very poor experience, I would not recommend. I booked a cleaner for almost 6 hours to clean the whole flat and she had barely done anything. There were marks on the surfaces which she clearly hadn't wiped and she hadn't hoovered at all. I had also payed on top for her to clean the windows this was not done. When I complained they blamed it on my 'equipment'. Previous cleaners have used the same equipment and they have cleaned the flat. Although I provided the customer service with pictures of all the unclean surfaces and floors, they made excuses and gave me only an hour and a half free credit to add to a future clean. The cleaner and the customer service were very unprofessional and it is safe to say I would not use them again. I am out 80 pounds and on top of that I had to spend 3 hours cleaning instead of the cleaner I have paid.

I scheduled for a regular cleaner. The first cleaner cancelled at the last minute and said they wouldn't be available for a month. Would I be happy with an interim cleaner? I said, "No", start me with a regular cleaner next week. An interim cleaner showed up any way. The second cleaner cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice. How they got they got this high a rating is beyond me. I would avoid this company like the plague. They wasted my time twice. Now I have to go find a house cleaning service that will actually show up.

Having used Housekeep now for a couple of years, I couldn't recommend the company any more. The customer service is excellent, and I love the cleaners I have had. Housekeep makes having a clean, tidy house very easy, all of the click of a button!

UPDATE (23/10): the customer service team have today flat out refused to compensate for the damage caused by their cleaner and have shut my account. Incredibly unprofessional and I shall continue to warn others to move their cleaning away from Housekeep.

Terrible experience. DO NOT USE.

UPDATE (17/10): despite protracted discussions with the customer service team including photographic evidence of damage (no-one else has access to the flat and we were the first people to enter the flat following the clean), Housekeep have refused to accept responsibility and have dropped the matter. Essentially telling me that they do not believe my version of affairs. This is the most unprofessional outcome that I have ever had with a service provider.

After the first clean with Housekeep, over £100 of damage was caused in the master bedroom and en-suite. After filing a complaint, I was asked to provide a huge amount of detail (which I was happy to provide), after which I was told that Housekeep outright did not believe me despite photographic proof. They have agreed to refund my cleaning fee but will not refund the total damage because they simply refuse to accept responsibility, despite their terms saying that they will cover £1,000 of damage. The complaint process has been long and arduous and the customer service representative (Jabed) came across as highly skeptical.

I cannot emphasize enough that you should not use this unprofessional service.

Booked a cleaner for once a two weeks but my first booking has been canceled as cleaner was not able to show up. Rebooked another one for enxt day as one of. As well no one show up or bother to inform me. So 2 days was literally sitting and waiting for someone to show up but been just fooled. Do not waist time on this website! Cleaner cost 25£ for 2 hours + extras but in this price you can get a proper cleaner somewhere else for sure!
