Wtf

I tried booking a hotel room at the end it said "something went wrong try again later" so I just thought that hotel was acting up. I tried to go purchase a room at a different hotel; same Message. I look at my bank account and was charged for BOTH rooms and no confirmation on the app or through email. Worst app ever. There is no way to contact them to get it resolved! Hoping my bank can block the charge before it officially goes Through!

Trying to get a hold of anyone is beyond impossible. They claim to have a "chat" available. Good luck with getting a response. Several hours after writing this review and 6 hours after starting a chat with them I finally received a response. After some back and forth they did finally agree to honor the frozen price even though the airline adjusted the times in those flights. I'd say the app it great for letting you know when prices drop but unfortunately I'd be worried to freeze or purchase from them. But in the end they said they'll honor it. I'll see if I get my money back as promised.

It was 48 hours before my check in and the hotel I booked through them did not have my reservation. Customer service NEVER responded or corrected my experience.

Hello, I was lead to believe that if I freeze a flight on Hopper app for $30 dollars that I can rebook a flight anytime and the money would go towards the next flight. Well I was wrong. Hopper constantly alerts me of new deals on flights but NEVER alerted me that my freeze was about to expire. After only three days.
The customer service number is a number for another company called DISH. Apparently they do not want to be reached. Lack of transparency is a big problem.
Also beware, the flight insurance does NOT cover cancelations from the CDC.
I recommend going straight to the airline web site to book your flight. They're Regulated and positioned to better service you.

My wife and I bought the "cancel for any reason" insurance policy on our flights. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, we need to cancel our trip. There is no number or email to contact. The only way is to leave a message on the app. We've been messaging them for a week now and NO RESPONSE AT ALL! Very unprofessional. Why offer a cancellation policy if it is literally impossible to use it? This company is either a) a scam or b) completely incompetent. Buyer beware.

I am really struggling because I purchased a trip to Italy from Hopper to go along with my Go Ahead Tour to the Amalfi Coast. However when the Coronavirus caused a level 4 travel advisory to Italy, Go Ahead Tour was forced to cancel my 3/27-4/6 trip. They were great and gave me the option of a different tour, but now I cannot get ahold of Hopper to cancel that flight and/or rebook to new locations. I've been waiting for them to respond to any of my messages for 4 days. It is imperative because the new trip is 3/23 and flight prices are getting higher and higher.

The trouble is that while the initial prices are really cheap, I first had booked the trip through Hopper and the flight got cancelled with no explanation from that airline, so I had to rebook and pay an additional 250 per ticket. Then, after rebooking, this happened and now there is not even a phone number and a delay of 4 days and counting for any response. I am so stressed by this and will not use Hopper again. Maybe to monitor pricing, but not for booking if there's not someone I can talk to.

I booked a flight on Hopper with a $25 flight freeze in effect, meaning I paid Hopper $25 to "insure" my ability to buy at that price; the flight price was frozen for a week. Within the time period, I booked my chosen flight, the price of which was $260 more than the frozen price. On the website, Hopper indicates that any refunds due will be issued within 7 to 10 days. They also indicate that Customer Service is prompt in responding to emails. Three weeks have passed. Hopper has not refunded the difference, nor have they responded to any of my emails. I have a little hope that they will honor their refund policy on this transaction. Total scam. Buyer beware.

I had to cancel my trip and purchased there insurance but they never refunded my money. Its been 3 months and 10 emails later and still nothing. They have no contact number so I guess I'm out of luck. I fly a lot and I haven't used them since. How do you trust a company that you can't get in contact with.

Booked a flight with cancel for any reason insurance. Had to change the dates so attempted to cancel. They changed the refund policy after i purchased the ticket and it Took a week for the company to respond. I actually had to reach out to them on twitter its pathetic. I bought the CFAR plan and Hopper only offered me a refund for $150CAD less than i paid. Absolutely pathetic customer service. You have to reach out on twitter before they will respond in the app, and you cant call hopper. Hopper does not have a phone number at all.

Horrible customer service! I just need to cancel my international flight due to the virus. I don't even want any refund from Hopper. I just need the proof of cancellation so that I can use that to file a trip cancellation claim with my travel insurance. Ive sent multiple messages but only get a generic automated message back. I emailed hopper as well & got a response from 'Mariam from Hopper':
"Alright, thanks for confirming!

We are currently experiencing a higher volume, so wait times to speak with someone are longer than usual. I am sorry about that! For this reason, we are prioritizing cases based on the urgency of travel. Please feel free to go about your day and you will receive a notification in the app as soon as we're able to help."

I had no trouble canceling the rest of the tour package with other companies. A surprise trip that I had planned for my hubby & kids has turned into a nightmare!
Never using them again unless they respond in the next 24 hours!

I purchased a flight with hopper and the cancel for any reason policy.

I've been trying to contact them to a) try to execute the cancel for any reason policy or b) change the dates of my flight, but nobody has answered.

My trip is one month away but I'm afraid I won't get any answer before it.

No recommended, terrible customer support.

I am really astonished by the positive reviews on this site, I don't trust the sources. Hopper has charged me extra and unexplained charges and they're not even replying to emails requesting the money back. They are a corrupted company stealing people's money with modern designs of bunnies. I am considering to file a lawsuit against them, those who are interested in filing a collective case against them please be in touch to get out money back and be compensated and take this company down.

This company is sketchy. There are multiple customer service numbers listed on various online sites all leading back to some travel agency company in San Francisco that has nothing to do with Hopper by their own omission. Examples of the bogus numbers are as follows: *******806, *******275. The HQ phone number for Hopper is bogus which is *******760. You cannot access anyone there on purpose. You send a message thru the APP requesting help and no one contacts you to help. I have now sent multiple messages with zero responses for days. All I needed was to change my flight dates and they have never responded. Now my wife and I are going to be out approx. $2K USD for tickets for our 25th anniversary trip to Tahiti that none of the airlines will help change or do anything with as Hopper has to make the changes and it is virtually impossible to get any response from Hopper. I have never seen such a bogus operation. Hopper has figured out how to take people's money and get away with it. Sick. I have spent hours on end trying to get help and it is not possible.

I booked two flights in Dec 2019. The app stated "full refund within 24 hr of cancellation if completed within 24 hours of booking". It's 2/29 and I'm STILL waiting despite the fact I have an email stating a full refund within 7 days. There is NO customer service!

I had to cancel a flight booked with Hopper. Sent them 6 messages and never received a reply. It said they were sending a message to their support team and I would be contacted. Ended up doing it on my own directly with the airline. Extremely frustrating that there is no phone number at which we can reach them.
Will think twice before I use Hopper again

I am currently attempting to get in contact with their customer service multiples times through their chat service - as of February 2020. My message continues to shows "Not Read Yet" despite a 72 hour period that has passed. It's concerning that I just spent a large amount of money to a service that refuses to respond to my messaging and has not contact information by phone. I highly recommend that you use another service.

The only way to contact hopper Is through a chat in the app, they never responded back to my message. I lost out on my entire flight over 1,000! I will never use hopper again!

FRAUDULENT

Hopper has no real customer service. They have computer generated auto responses, but no live person on the other end of the "live chat". I requested to modify my daughter's itinerary. She was looking to stay an extra 2 weeks on vacation. I messaged them on their "live chat" three days running and only received auto responses. One of the responses states that my request has been sent to the support team, and to "feel free to go about your day and close the app in the meantime-they'll ping you as soon as they have more information for your request!" that was 19 hours ago, and nothing yet. Hopper customer service has no direct phone number on its app. Furthermore, I purchased the cancellation insurance. When you tap the refund button, it redirects you to the same "live chat", where you receive an auto generated response.

Hopper attempted to help this customer through the Sitejabber Resolution Center, but the customer did not respond

We flew to LGA en route to Montreal-and after landing I received a call that my mom had to go to the ER in Detroit. We had to buy new tickets of course for Detroit, but I bought travel insurance with Hopper for me and my husband's flights (to Montreal), We also cancelled the flight back because we did not need it anymore since it was from Montreal. Hopper refused, even after all documentation was sent to them of my mother's death. I have bought at least 20 tickets through Hopper previously, I was really disappointed. Why bother buying insurance, if they don't cover this! I'd still like my money back, just for the return trip-I'd be happy with that. Please contact me.
