My wife us a booked a flight with the Hopper app. When we got the email from the airline, United, the "Economy" tickets we'd purchased had mysteriously become "Economy Basic." So we rechecked the App, and it still said "Economy" and still said we would be able to pick our seats and that we'd get a free checked bag (the specific differences between Economy and Economy Basic.)

Somehow their customer service team felt that answers like "Just because it says that doesn't mean there won't be fees." I'm sorry, what? Even if you don't feel that lying by omission is still lying, your App specifically says this is INCLUDED in the tickets we just bought, and the free checked bag literally says 'free' in the name of the perk.

They insisted the only way to fix it was for us to cancel our tickets and rebook, because they somehow felt it was acceptable to make it our responsibility to fix their mistake. Except my wife finally did just that, and the same %$^@! Happened AGAIN.

They are awful. No customer service whatsoever. I paid for a cancel at any time insurance and now that I've cancelled thru the airline, they are ignoring my multiple requests for a refund. DO NOT USE THEM!

Horrendous customer service! God forbid if you have to change or cancel any part of your itinerary (like I had to because of the coronavirus scare). Customer service is so bad that it will leave you gasping for air!

After two weeks of making several calls and sending emails/messages to them and multiple airlines, I still have no information of refunds of upto $1800 owed to me.

Shocking, disgusting, horrible customer service!

Best to use app to browse what deals are out there and then book with someone else who will actually be there to assist you with your customer needs.

Better Late Than Never!

After having no luck over the course of more than 2 weeks reaching out to Hopper via their app and social media accounts, they did finally reach out to me thanks to a previous review on this site. They have offered to take corrective action over my concern, and I am satisfied with the resolution.

Terrible Service

I have been trying to reach Hopper for over two weeks. They made a change to my itinerary which leaves me with only 1 hr between a domestic and international flight, and I need to change it. They don't have a phone number and they say they respond to messages by urgency of flight, but I am leaving in just one week and still they have done nothing to reach out or help me. Terrible service!

I was charged two random extra fees of 33 and 28 in addition to my flight and can't get anyone from hopper to explain or even replay. Don't use this site. It's not worth the hassle. Sky scanner is a much better option if you want to find good prices. Will never use hopper again.

No customer service

Hopper takes money quickly. Once you have any problems, they would avoid answer you. I was chatting with a hopper representative. Once I asked to cancel my reservation, the representative stopped responding to me! So I have no way of cancelling my flights! We need to cancel due to medical illness and we even have doctors' notes to prove it.

Is there a way to give negative stars? My first & last experience with hopper was a nightmare! They took the $ straightaway. Which was great! Then, we get to the hotel, who charges us again for the room saying that we can't stay here for free & that until hopper pays, we are liable. Also, we are ten hours away from home, about to be stranded because of the double charge. So, i'm so glad that there is absolutely NO WAY to get ahold of customer service. They have a chat option where someone "may" get back to you in one BUSINESS day. They don't have a phone number to be reached at. After 45 minutes of searching, & probably ten phone calls that were, in fact, NOT hopper, my husband found some secret squirrel number that only had a recording saying that hey, we're hopper & we don't monitor this voicemail! Like, what the actual what?! Hopper SUCKS! And whatever you do? DON'T USE THEIR SERVICES.

Say NO to the Hopper App

Hopper has no customer service once a flight is booked. If you book a flight and need to modify your itinerary, Hopper customer service has no direct phone number ANYWHERE on its app. They took over a week to contact me about a change of flight request. That was after the flight had departed! It cost me my preferred departure time and the flight price went up over the 10 days the bot spent twiddling its thumbs (sic)!

DO NOT USE THIS BOOKING SERVICE-THEY ARE INCOMPETENT!

I used the PRICE FREEZE and it expired. I received the message in the attached photo, stating: "You have a $24 Hopper Credit. Hopper will refund your $24 Hopper Credit on any flight you book with us."
So, I booked a new flight and now I'm told that the credit had expired and that it was stated in Freeze Terms. Well, then I should NOT have receive that misleading message with no expiration info. It clearly says ANY FLIGHT and there is no specific date. I booked it at few days after the price freeze. THAT IS A TOTAL RIPOFF, and for me: Hopper no more! Really? I get that simple note saying that I HAVE A CREDIT TO USE ON ANY FLIGHT and I'm expected to read the extremely long text on TERMS? DO NOT MISLEAD WITH FALSE MESSAGES HOPPER. THANK YOU. I hope someone else is spared this ripoff by reading my review. It makes me so angry and frustrated

Beware of this Company

Beware of this Company. I have been trying to request refund on my flight from IAD-CEB for over a week now because of the travel advisories due to Corona Virus and they just gave me roundabout. Even though the airlines already announced in their websites that they are now issuing refund. They have zero Customer Service. Nobody answers your chat and there is no way you can reach them by phone. Save your money and go to a reputable business that take care of their customers.

I tried booking Vancouver to New delhi round trip, but after the final step of the payment it said "something went wrong try again". But then i checked my account. $1290 were gone, and i never got any confirmation about my flight booking. Kept on Trying for reaching them but was unsuccessful. Tried asking help from my bank if they can cancel the transaction, but they were unable to do.
At the end i lost $1290 CAD.
Was a big lesson to never book through any third party.

We booked a round trip flight for my wife from the US to China. A portion of her return flight was canceled due to the corona virus outbreak. We need the whole return trip canceled and the other connections won't cancel those. The only way to communicate with Hopper is through their chat. There is no phone number to call. We have been trying to talk to them for 3 days and all we get is they are busy and will get back to us. I recommend you not book through them. Once you do you are on your own! This is customer service at its worse!

They bite

Oh you can pay them money. But trying to get in touch with them is a nightmare. All I wanted was to change my name from Don to Donald. They finally called. 8 hours after my flight. They said talk to the airlines. Of course the airlines said talk to them. Anyway it cost me 900 dollars to learn not to use hopper

Unresponsive customer service. I have booked with Hopper multiple times and without any issues. I was historically happy with my choice to monitor and book travel through the app. However, I have sent 3 messages to customer service regarding my upcoming travel to Thailand and I have a received a blanket email saying they are busy and they will get to me. I just gave you $1800 of my money and have been patiently waiting for multiple business days without any sign of resolution. I deserve timely customer service. This will be my last booking with Hopper.

NOT IMPRESSED

I have been a faithful and die hard promoter of the HOPPER App - sharing it with family, friends, co workers and even my students! I had planned a trip of a life time to visit my family in the Philippines and then go to Vietnam, Cambodia, Bali and Vancouver to start my trip off with my twin sister for our birthday. I booked all my flights with Hopper AND purchased "Cancel for Any Reason" insurance. I have had to cancel for health reasons and do no want to travel with the CORONAVIRUS. Most of this trip, other than Vancouver is almost 7 weeks from now- I have messaged HOPPER support team numerous times - and NOTHING and its been 5 days. NOTHING.
I hope you come through with my refunds HOPPER! I AM COUNTING ON YOU!

Stay away!

If I could give zero stars I seriously would. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is no phone number or email to contact. They offer cancel for any reason insurance & travel protection which is totally point less bc they do not respond. I wish I would have read reviews before I purchased through Hopper. Sadly I can see that I am not alone & am afraid I will never get a response or a refund. Do your self a favor & never ever go through the Hopper App. I have messaged the "chat" multiple times over this past week and only get robot responses. Stay away!

Worse App Ever!

Never again taking advice from a friend who recommended this darn awful bunny hopping bs! I had entered all my information, scheduled my flight, and hit enter. Seconds later, I was informed with an apology, "Sorry something went wrong, please try again" Which I did but the problem happened again. I checked with my bank, and found out I was charged. I tried to contact hopper's customer service but kept directing me to their website with a list of what answers to whatever questions or problems ones have.

UNBELIEVABLY HORRIBLE

I HAVE HAD THIS CREDIT FROM A CANCELED FLIGHT SINCE FEBRUARY OF LAST YEAR, I HAVE TRIED NONE STOP TO GET INTO CONTACT WITH SOME FROM HOPPER CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I HAVE HAD NO LUCK! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND IF NO ONE GETS BACK TO ME BEFORE THE DATE OF EXPIRATION ON MY FLIGHT WHICH IS FEBRUARY 09,2020. I WILL BE TAKING LEGAL ACTION. BECAUSE I HAVE EVERY ATTEMPT TO CONTACT HOPPER CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR ALMOST A YEAR DOCUMENTED.
