Home Depot's reputation is marked by a mix of positive and negative customer experiences. Many customers appreciate the wide selection of products and the knowledgeable staff, which contribute to a convenient shopping experience. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, particularly related to installation issues, return policies, and delayed deliveries. Customers frequently report dissatisfaction with the handling of complaints and a perceived lack of support, leading to frustration and a sense of being undervalued. Overall, while the company offers a robust product range, its customer service approach appears inconsistent, impacting overall satisfaction.

Makes menards look like a walmart.
Homedepot always carries top tier wood and supplies..
But cant! I have had a couple bad experiences there but I've had them at other builder stores as well. I cant put my thumb on it but something about the store makes me not want to shop there but the convenience and prices as well as most of the time the selection. I just wish there would be one not as large of a chain and had more local personal building items, oh well, on my way to HD again.
What I thought would be one of my simplest summer (August) home projects tuned out to be a continual nightmare as of today. This nightmare started with G. S flooring contracted by Home-depot to install a simple vinyl floor which I was charged $1300 (Instillation). The 1st photo below is day one of the disaster flooring job by home depot and G. S flooring (Beautiful hum). WAIT!. Next photo is the vinyl flooring that was cut to short and glue was used to help with the breathing (per G. S Installer) not to mention it is by the entrance way where everyone that enters can see the flooring is cut to short except G. S flooring installers. WAIT!. Week two... the glue used to hold the vinyl in place is not holding, therefore the ($2400) flooring job is rising off the floor. WAIT! As we can see the glue is totally not sticking. OH yes the cemented area that was already cemented is what Home-depot & G. S charged me $437.00 (what they call Leveling 250ft). Which clealy not 250ft. I measured 37inches = 3 feet 1 inch ($437.00). This job was started in late August it is now November and I am still waiting for this job to be reinstall by the same contractors which lied about the measurements and installed this horror of a flooring. (G. S). It is clearly Home-Depot does not honor customer satisfaction nor are they screening these contractor. I would have been better off using a contractor from Angie's list and going to Lowes' or Menards' for materials. As I said it is now November in Chicago and getting colder and I am still waiting for a job to be completed from August. This nightmare is not over. I am still waiting...
I found this web site very difficult to use. I bought washer & dryer and can't even register the insurance that I purchased.
For the most part Home Depot stores are hit or miss depending where they are. My best advice is to seek out older male workers for advice. Asking the average employee for anything more complicated than hammer and nails is futile.
If you know what you need then go to Home Dept. Wash your hands before you leave because guaranteed they will be dirty if you touch anything in that store...
They usually have a wide variety of hardware and appliances. Love their discounted appliances. Sure miss the Home Expo!
Well stocked except with people to help you find what you need.
The best thing I love about HomeDepot is the staff. They are always willing and ABLE to help me with my projects. They are well trained and have a lot of knowledge they are willing to share. If they didn't have such awesome employees HomeDepot would have to call themselves Lowe's.
I would recommend Home Depot if you go shopping there in person. Now if you order online this is a different matter. Just get something that you're not in rush to get! Takes forever... I just don't understand how some sites like Wayfair manages to process their orders within a day and that Home Depot takes for ever!
Email is most of my information and they didn't get back to me, I'm too old to walk in a store or wait on hold. I though they had this online deal worked out by now.
I needed to order a gift for my husband, something not carried in the store. I was able to get it from the warehouse, and have it delivered to the store for pick-up. My daughter picked it up, they were so pleasant, and it was amazing how this can be done. I thought all stores carried their products, but no, they have a catalog to choose from. What a pleasant purchase from Home Depot.
My favorite store other than all my girlie shopping -- the best policies and employee attitude I have ever seen. Several years ago I wanted to report a rude employee and realized the better action was to call in and give a pat on the back to the helpful ones -- so my call-in program began and I have called many times, so much so that I began noticing even more employees became even more helpful -- word gets around. Did you know each one gets almost $17 on the Homer $50 badge when you call in? Love it that I can bring my dog! They even let me bring back several dead plants I didn't have a receipt for -- I mentioned it in passing and they OFFERED! Didn't even have to ask! And if you're looking for a contractor, you can get some leads. They are just wonderful.
Was building a deck at my cottage and the guys on site were very patient with all my newbie questions!
There is a whole host of materials in here to quite literally create whatever you want in your home product.
I can almost always find what I am looking for. I just would like to be able to find things more easily.
I purchased everything from wall cabinets to toilets from Home Depot on line! Even a trash compactor. I love the various options; home delivery or store delivery. One of the toilets was broken, they had me return it to my local Home Depot and immediately shipped another one. No questions at all, easy return. Love them!
We like Home Depot though it sometimes is not as well stocked as Lowes and the staff is harder to find when you have a question. We do go there and have purchased many home needs from them but I think they are generally a smaller store than Lowes.
They killed my cat installating a washing machine. I can't get the image out of my head. I've been crying for three days. Sweetest cat you ever will come across. I can't believe it. I'll never use them again. Just in time for Christmas.
In Redoing my bathroom, I explained totally what I was doing. On the walls I needed 1/2 inch concrete board and was sold 1/4 inch. I was already half way finished. With this bad advice I have had many problems. Wrote to Home Depot... pretty much too bad so sad. YouTube has given me better advice than Home Depot.
Answer: Hi Betty, you can also return without receipt if you purchased using your credit card. Give them the same CC and they can tell the price you bought at.
