I ordered a three month subscription for younger son. Older boys can be hard to shop for. For a brainy video game lover these boxes pack a lot. Plus a t shirt in each order. Optimal age 16-21. I'd order again.

For avid readers there are many titles at deep discount. There's also a treasure trove of obscure subjects. They have speedy delivery too. I would recommend it as an excellent book source.

I ordered a scrapbook kit during the holidays. The delivery was fast and the kit was excellent. I had never done scrapbooking before and this kit had everything spelled out for you.

I've ordered many times from Duluth. Both the men's and women's clothing lines are well made and durable. The most ordered items for me are the long-tailed t shirts and the men's socks. I also ordered a pair of women's leather boots from them a few years back and they still look great. A bit more expensive but definitely worth it.

Although I try to frequent local independent bookstores...B and N. com just makes it too darn easy to shop in quantity. For people who are dedicated bookworms there are always a hundred more titles you want...if not more. This site lets you maintain your wish lists and has out of print books available through their own vendors. Being a member gives you a savings card that is really worth the few dollars a year to renew it. Maybe twice in ten years has there been a title they didn't have. They also have a decent return policy. Even without a receipt you can at least get store credit in most cases. One year for my B-day I got three copies of the same book. In store they gave me credit for two. They also send coupons by mail a few times a year. All around great shopping experience.

I've had a FitBit Flex for several years and it's made a big difference in my overall health and fitness. Fitness trackers don't magically give you motivation, but if you're motivated already it can give you that extra boost. The Flex is simple to use. Just sync it into your computer account and you're good to go. You can choose how much you want to keep track of. Some folks want to track everything. I just use it for steps and competing with friends. The only issue some people have with the site is they don't answer online requests very quickly if at all. The best advice is to call customer service and speak to a live human...(877) 623-4997. They're very good with replacing broken or defective devices for free but you have to call.

PetFinder

I found my girl Sophie on Petfinder. I would recommend it as the first place to go when looking for a companion animal. It has easy search options. Just key in your location, what type of creature you're looking for, breed, gender, age, size, optional questions are does your home have cats/dogs/children.
Then the site filters through and presents you with a photo album of animals who might fit the profile you've created. It's wise to record maybe four possibilities. Also remember that some shelters won't have an animal filed by name. Definitely have any case numbers as well.
I feel it's also good to have several options so you can make a better choice. You only know if a creature is a good fit for you by meeting them. Not just from an online description. An example, I was taken by a photo of a male dog at a local shelter. When I actually met him he was much larger than his picture suggested.
They also hadn't mentioned his tendency to hump humans. He was so wound up he ripped my jacket as I tried to snap on his leash. Sadly I had the warden take him back to his kennel. The story ended happy though...The pup in the next cage turned out to be a winner and has been with us for four years now.

Bugsy's Box

I had a six month subscription to Bugsysbox. Each month you get a goodie box of full sized products for dogs. Usually two grooming items, two food treat items and a toy. The things I liked were that you get to try new products you might not see otherwise and most of the treats are high end nutritionally. The downside is that I have two big dogs. It would be better if they had a two dog option in their subscription packages. Enough treats and a toy for each dog. The only other problem was my dogs don't like fruits or veggies in their treats. The healthier offerings I passed on to friends. But overall I'd recommend Bugsysbox.

Kong toys are advertised as indestructible. However in my experience the stuffed toys and especially the treat balls are pretty fragile with bigger stronger dogs. The stuffed toys have at max two hours play with my dogs...an AmStaff and AmBull. The exception is the Ballistics line. The material is tougher than typical stuffed toys. But even the seams on those are easily nibbled through. I would tell people with strong chewers to only purchase Kong toys in store and keep those receipts. If you have the receipt you can return if need be. Returning online products can be a hassle.

For the most part Home Depot stores are hit or miss depending where they are. My best advice is to seek out older male workers for advice. Asking the average employee for anything more complicated than hammer and nails is futile.
