Empty Bottle
March 12, 2020

I received an empty bottle and was told I would have to wait until next shipment to be replaced. I then explained that after 4 deliveries I had decided to cancel my subscription, I just wasn't going through the products fast enough. Their response "The credit will be there if your situation changes". The credit should go back on my credit card.

Grove Changed my Live

This company has changed my life. I found this site by accident as I was trying to find healthier and cleaner products to keep my home clean and safe. I feel in love from the first package. Not only did I get a hand written thank you on my box I get reminder emails from from when my shipment is due out. I love the fact that they do that so that I'm able to stay on budget if I can't afford a shipment. I also love the fact that this company listens to their customers and actively works to make the world a better place.

My issue with Grove is not the products they sell, those are great. My issue with them is that they auto sign you up for an annual membership, and bury the notice in spam. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear

The products are good and the packaging and extras you can purchase are attractive. What I did not like was that the website is very confusing and designed to get you to purchase more products and end up on subscriptions that you have to go back and figure out how to cancel. Extra products were put in my basket, received email notices about "next shipments" and free shipping renewals because you are automatically signed up and have to prevent it. I will not shop here again.

Scam

I really am disgusted by their entire mission to rope people into buying and buying and buying. Buying is consuming. Consuming without boundaries leads to over-consumption. This is the opposite of being good to the planet. And tricking (yes... I was totally tricked by their "auto-subscription") you to buy this so you get this and then discovering that you are now subscribed to not just ONE subscription, but also the "VIP" level of quarterly payments. This VIP totally sucks people into trying to buy enough stuff to justify their membership fees.

But what is really troubling is how hard it is to get clear of the whole site. CANCELLATION should be a single button somewhere on a site. Period.

I want them to CANCEL my "account". Remove me from their database. I told them to send me ONE final email confirming I will never have their ads in my inbox again. EVER. Hope that will happen.

Shipping takes absurdly long ( be prepared to wait 2/3 weeks for your order to arrive) and Grove automatically subscribes you to products and sends them much faster than you would run through them. So you end up waiting ages for products you need and then receiving surprise shipments of things you already have. The allure of ‘lower prices' is a bit of a scam, you don't save much and the inconvenience of waiting is not worth the 50 cent discount on a $5.00 product.

BEWARE
August 20, 2020

Total scam. I initially placed an order and got an email saying there was something wrong with my payment method. I re-entered my information. Soon after, I got a box that contained things I had never ever ordered. 2 days after that, I finally received the order that I had initially placed. I chatted with one of their reps, who said he would send me a UPS return label. Never received it. I emailed them and finally received a return label. What a giant waste of my time. I had to contact them twice so that I can return something I did not order in order to get my money back. Additionally, I have to make a trip to return something that I never ordered. Totally defeats the purpose of the "convenience" of ordering from Grove.

Once you give your payment info to this company, they're just gonna swipe it as though all the money belongs to them.

My introductory order went off without a hitch. My second, and very last order, is still in the wind. I placed my 2nd order on 9/2 and today is 9/26. I still don't have it. I have gotten two entirely different stories from Customer Service (who are super sweet, BTW). First was "we're so busy and we will get it to you as soon as we can" and the second one was "oh, I'm sorry you didn't receive it, we will re-ship it to you". So now, I have gotten two or three emails telling me my order has shipped but the delivery date keeps getting pushed out. It first showed today, then tomorrow, and now it's 3 days out. I give up.

First off, most the thing they market as giving you a deal on is cheaper at your local grocery stores. There are organic options at most grocery stores anymore. Second, I was a member for a year then canceled. I thought that was the end - but NO they kept auto generating carts for me to process an order. I caught it the first time, but second time I did not and they put over $140 of stuff in my cart, processed my card {which I can't figure out how to remove from their site}, and shipped out to me immediately. So now I have a $140 of stuff coming to me I didn't order nor want. This co. is a scam. Please stay away - they make it very hard to cancel membership {which I did after having to email them and deal with someone trying to talk me out of it}, and I can't figure out how to remove my credit card or delete my account with them. STAY AWAY!

Well, I love the products from this company. I will no longer purchase any from their website. I was scheduled to receive a monthly subscription that was not delivered. I communicated with the company and learned I had to update my credit card information. I am still trying to figure out why would I have to update unchanged credit card information? I'll buy their products in-store, but no longer on their website.

Do not join.

Do not join their VIP membership. Even though I called 9 months ago and told them I did not want anything else and to close my account, they said I did not ask for my VIP membership to be stopped. And I received a charge on my account. What would be the reason to keep a VIP membership open if I do not want anymore product from them?! And they could not refund because it was too late. They says it has to be within 30 days and it's been 45 days!? The product is the same price or higher than at a retail store. And you pay for shipping unless you buy so much! It a real scam!

Three days before your VIP renewal, you should have received an email with a reminder and an option to cancel—we're so sorry if that was missed or went to your spam folder! Please know you can shop Grove with both, one, or neither service, so some people do keep one without the other. Many people choose to keep their VIP membership for the seasonal gifts, free shipping, and access to special promotions and sales. We also offer price matching, so if you see an item at a better price elsewhere, we'll gladly match that in your cart. They take your money, supposedly ship products (not in a timely manner) then update the account as it was delivered but it was not!
I did not get the products but they answered my emails promising they will ship and then disappear again. Just terrible!

Nightmare!

First order was shipped to wrong address, no product resent and no cc refund, lol, after six emails, 4 texts, two phone calls. Still nothing. But, my cc was charged for a SECOND shipment two days ago, a week after I canceled my subscription. So two charges and not one product received. Will call one more time tomorrow, if no credit, will file wrongful charge with my cc company. Losers.

I love having the things I need delivered right to my door! No more running out of toilet paper and having to go to the store at 11 pm! Grove has everything you need and more for the same low prices as everywhere else, and with the VIP membership you get free shipping. I also love how I can trust the ingredients and integrity of all of their products. <3

Ordering Needs Updating

I'm disappointed that when making a new order I have to clear last month's order from the cart. On other sites once the order is shipped, the cart is cleared. Saves me time and no mistakes of receiving what I already ordered.

Too Much Hassle

Grove has messed up my last THREE orders. 1st they sent and charged/sent me $75+ products I did not buy--had never bought. They sent me a shipping label and took it back, no charge--great (as it should be). Next month, sent me something else we did not order, they dropped the charge (apparently based on the previous stuff we did not order)--OK, that's fine. This month they offered a free gift if I ordered early. Which I did, but NO gift. Every month they auto stick stuff in our cart, and every month now we have to go through each item individually and unsubscribe, and save, so we don't get stiffed for items we did not order. Next month it will all be back in our cart and we'll have to delete everything all over again. For all this green talk they've actually expanded our household carbon foot print with returns/extra labor. What a hassle!

The products generate into your cart from your Product Subscriptions, which can be edited to meet your home's needs, or removed altogether, and then any items that populated into your cart can be deleted after that. To ensure you're only receiving items you need, we'll send a few email reminders—one will send a week before your ship date, and another the day before. We're so sorry if those were missed. YOU MAY HAVE SOME REASONS YOU WISH TO USE GROVE... SO OK, PRESS AHEAD. BUT UNHAPPY IS ME, TRYING TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT AFTER TRYING THEM. They make it nearly impossible to find how to cancel out, on their SELF DESIGNED WEBSITE. When you do find it and say to cancel, they do not cancel your membership, the just keep it valid but "asleep". If you want to remove your credit card, you CANNOT unless you enter a new card that is valid. It just feels manipulative and sleezy. I have asked them again, to close/cancel my account out. We will see if they can do that.

What a scam!
March 21, 2019

I was actually excited to try this as I've been moving towards adding more sustainable products to what I buy. I received a coupon from Hello Fresh and decided to give it a shot. I love delivery services and subscriptions because I live in the middle of nowhere and it saves me time and driving even if it's a tad more expensive. But when I finalized my cart and chose pay through PayPal, the notification pops up that I paid $30 more than what I signed up for! When I went back to website and went to order history the order was completely different. Free items were not the same, and a bunch of items were added. I'm glad I chose PayPal because after reading other reviews it sounds like I'll have more luck canceling the subscription with them than the company.

Although I like the chemical free products, most of which work well, they are still packaged in plastic and other non bio degradable products. I think all the companies in this group could do better and until that happens I will shop elsewhere.

Grove used to care about their Customers, but not anymore!
Just don't bother! They screwed up my shipping and then blamed UPS. Then they charged my the same price for a small Mrs Meyers candle as they did the large one, the item description didn't say anything about it being a small, I didn't know until I received it and they won't do anything about it!
