This is my second order from Grove and I'm pretty impressed with the products. They're not extremely high and you're helping the environment so that's good. The only problem I have so far, is that I ordered these trash cans on clearance for $25. But they're not trash cans or recycling cans they're more like bins. I'm not going to return them but I won't be ordering anything else for a while.

Another auto-ship subscription scam. Decent products, but you have to agree to auto-ship subscription to buy anything. Just let consumers buy stuff. Another auto-ship subscription scam. Decent products, but you have to agree to auto-ship subscription to buy anything.

Just let consumers buy stuff. Don't bury the small print and sign people up for an expensive subscription services without their knowledge. You also can't change your payment method online, you have to call them. I despise companies that don't allow full user control via their site. This screams of scamming.

I narrowed down my list in the cart to 5 items and ordered ($37-39). Now all of sudden I have been charged for $70! And was told "I cannot cancel the order" why I have been charged for something I did not order! I am assuming it is some system error. But it is not helpful at all when the company does not want to fix the problem! All they say is "cannot cancel the order" so I have to pay for what I did not order!?!?!?

Tip for consumers:
Screenshot the list of item you purchase before you submit your order. Because the confirmation email sent me all the extra items I end up removing from the list!!!!

The biggest turn off and why I stopped buying on their site is that everything you order gets thrown back into your cart for a monthly refill whether you need it or want it or not. So you have to remove these items every single time. You only learn this after they auto bill you for the order.

Next issue is the products are great and a fail depending on which, for example, their spray bottles are a great idea but they don't spray half the time. Spray nozzles have worked perfectly for decades and they an't get that right?

Too many other options to buy from these days so if it isn't easy, why bother? And I don't.

Their products don't work well. They are diluted and it is impossible to cancel your orders once they start sending them. I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with everything about this company. Don't find out the hard way like I did

Since Grove went public and now there is no way to reach customer service after business hours EST. The text number doesn't work either. My box arrived damaged and soaked with an unsecured bleach based product which damaged not only the merchandise, but my clothing as well. After years of monthly orders, I am cancelling.

Check to see if customer service is available before signing up.

I don't believe I have had issues. I have a subscription, but it is never sent unless it is for a certain amount of money. They always send a reminder e-mail, so I can log in and update my cart if I need to. This means that I will only receive a shipment when I need the items. It's been a few months since my last shipment, but today I received a reminder and logged in to update my cart. Next month, I will receive the items I need. It is very convenient. I also love that they have Mrs Meyers products. I can get the special edition soaps like peppermint and daisy!

They will not send an item or 2, then not refund. Rather, they want you to spend more money on their horrid products by "crediting" your account. I could go on and on, but won't since I've already lived through their BS. But I have to say that this pretend-woke corporation luvs to go on and on about "sustainability" and they use it as an excuse to not ship the items that were not received. If they truly cared about the environment, they would not use 3X the packaging materials that others use. Plus, they'd make decent products so that you didn't have to use 10X as much. ZERO stars is too much. They get -100 stars from me.

I tried Grove after my daughter told me about it and I saw an Ad on Facebook. It took 5 weeks to receive and when I did receive it, 2 of my bottles of cleaner had broken and spilled out all over everything. They wouldn't ship replacements, offered a refund for one of the items, $8.00, but said I got the other one free. My whole shipment was spilled and covered in a mess. Highly dissatisfied with Grove.

I'm using bamboo TP now, thanks to Grove.

I've been thrilled with my Grove.co membership from 2020 to present (2023 July).

I love supporting their mission of plastic-free and natural.
All their products are cruelty-free, non-toxic, no animal testing, etc.

They have their own product lines of cleaning and personal care items, as well as my favorite brands, like Dr. Bronner's, Murphy's, Seventh Generation, Method, etc.

It's easy to choose which items are on monthly subscription and which items are just one-time purchase.
I haven't had any bad experiences, I wonder if all the bad reviews are from people who just wanted to get the free gifts for signing up and didn't pay attention or read that it's a subscription service, which was very transparent.
I voluntarily signed up for the annual VIP membership, which unlocks free shipping for much cheaper than Prime.
If I can add a feature request: I miss being able to have some products shipped bi-monthly or quarterly. This former feature was advantageous for Grove as well, when I was buying on recurring subscription, I often accidentally over-purchased and would stash away extras until needed, but now I only keep a small number of essentials on subscription and just wait until I run out of other items to order more.

Tip for consumers:
Pay Attention - If you don't want something on monthly subscription, make sure you uncheck that box.

Promised free $30 Mrs. Meyers kit with first order. Kit was in my basket when I checked out but not in confirmation email received after completing checkout. Contacted Customer Service; they responded with $20 credit on my next order. Not interested in any future orders, so I requested that they send me the kit. No response. DM'd via FB requesting order and subscription cancellation; no response after 4 hours. Instituted dispute with PayPal.

Sounds like Grove has a great mission and I wish them success. I thought it was weird to see their "European Hand towel" with a "made in China" label. I don't use enough product to warrant monthly delivery. I live near Target where I can purchase as needed. I feel the Grove passion so I will give 3 stars. Need more product offerings for me to return. Thank you!

I've been using Grove since Oct. Of 2020. I see a lot of bad reviews here and have to say I've never had an issue with them. I find their products to be on par with any other non-Grove company. The prices have always been reasonable, and I actually like the auto-ship. I get an email and app notification a week before my ship date, reminding me to make sure my cart has what I need. This has been incredibly helpful because there are times when I don't realize I need something and I can add it real quick, or there are times when I find I have a surplus, and I just swipe to push it to the next shipment.

As far as them adding products to the cart without my consent, I will say that the first purchase I made was everything I put in the cart. The second order (aka the FIRST auto ship order), there were things added, but I believe it was because I was brand new and they were making suggestions. I understand how that is definitely not the best way way to "make suggestions", but I guess it didn't bother me because I just removed them. My mom recently signed up for Grove as well, and she had the same thing happen. However, after that initial time, it's never happened since. Once you have your set monthly subscriptions, they don't try to "be helpful" again, that I know of.

If your order is at least $35 on your auto ship, you get to choose a free gift. If you order $55, you can choose between the $35 free gift, or another gift. If you spend over $99, you get another option, and you can choose one of the three.

As far as the free gifts go, I recently had an order ship, and maybe a week later I went to the app and checked my next order because I needed to add something. I selected my gift, however, by the time that next order shipped, I didn't get a free gift because they had changed the gifts and I hadn't selected one of the new ones. The default option when the gifts change, is "no gift", so it's always important to check your cart as soon as you get that notification that it will ship soon.

Because I can understand how the automatic adding of products to your first autoship could easily be missed and someone ends up paying far more than they intended, and because you can miss your free gift if your timing isn't right, I give the company 4 stars. But I have to say, I've never been upset about their products. I still HIGHLY recommend them. Since the auto adding of items on your first shipment seems to be the biggest culprit in their bad reviews, I think if they stopped doing that, they would get much better ratings.

Tip for consumers:
After your initial order, your first AUTOSHIP order will have added items that Grove suggests. If you don't check the cart as soon as you get the notification that your order ship soon (usually about a week before you're charged) you will be charged for those items, so be sure to remove them if you don't want them. After that, they won't automatically add products.

I ordered from Grove. A month later I received a bill for $173 for "subscriptions". Most of these "subscription items" were the free gifts they had given during my first purchase, the other items were what I had purchased that ONE time.

The company auto enrolled me in a subscription for all items in my first checkout cart.

It's gross when a company likes this acts like that. Please be advised

I've used Grove for about two years now and was aware I had to always watch my cart for extras they sneak in there but was generally happy with the products. As of recent, the same order has been "damaged" in shipment and returned 4 times. I finally requested a full refund and to cancel. Grove needs to figure out the shipping issues and tell the customer what's going on. Don't say it's been shipped if it hasn't.

When I ordered I got a whole basket of free things! I was skeptical at first. But was I sooooo wrong?! I received my order in less than 5 days. I'll never go back to my other house hold products. I love the scents and how well they clean. The caddy I bought sits so beautifully in my kitchen it was all I was missing. I'm completely satisfied with the overall company, products and service. The box even had a personal note. How sweet?! You've got a lifetime supporter.

The way how Grove tricks customers in subscription speaks of unethical business practices. When you create an account they mention that you will never run out of stuff with a subscription model. You would assume that you can choose to subscribe or place a regular order. But it's not the case, once you place an order, you have signed up for a subscription. And it is never mentioned during the check out process.
This lack of transparency seems intentional. I find it very unethical and I can't trust a company like that.

As a person who worked on a subscription service for one of the nation-wide retailers, I'm sad to see those bad business practices.

I think one day they will be sued for that. Would be similar to a law suit against Audible.

Tip for consumers:
If you signed make sure you check your order every month and cancel items you don't need.

Had an order that never showed up because lost in USPS. Grove said they will reship and the shipment is still sitting at "waiting for USPS to pickup" it has been 21 days. Customer service says I have to wait 24 hours for supervisor to respond? I asked what am I waiting a response on, catch you just ship me the producet that I paid for almost a month ago. She says no. I ask her if there is anyway to get ahold of a supervisor now instead of waiting 24 hours (already been waiting 21 days for my product) and they go completely silent and ignore the chats.

Didn't realize it was a subscription site which was a negative for me. Dishwasher detergent didn't do a good job, unsure or couldn't tell with the other cleaning products. Loved the 3 ply toilet paper and the reusable glass containers.

I love every item I've received from The Grove. Shipments have always arrived on time and in great condition. My only problem is reaching them. My app crashes every time I try to open it. Links in their emails crash as well. It's becoming a problem and I can find no phone number or email address to reach out to about these problems.

Tip for consumers:
Ask they why their app might crash & how to reach a human being...then pass on the info (at least to me!!

The products were very good; but, my reason for 5 stars is solely based on the immediate response I received to an issue I had with automatic shipment. When I signed up for service I didn't realize I opted for auto shipments. When I was surprised by a notice of an upcoming shipment and an automatic charge for products, I reached out to customer service at 9:39 PM on April 20th. Not only did I receive a reply to my issues, my issues were resolved the next day with an apology and a full refund.

Watch out they charged me a non refundable 29.00 charge which I didn't authorize. I see no less packages with this company. I don't trust that their mint antibacterial cleaner really works. It don't smell clean now does it make me feel confident it works. I thought sorry bottles were nice but they're just well made junk. Triggers don't work well. Products are expensive and you have to use a lot of elbow grease to get it viral. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND JOINING AT ALL

The automatic, sign you up for VIP membership and do not tell you they charge you $20.00 after a month if you do not know this and they sign you up for automatic delivery if you do not cancel that too. Again you have no choice they just do it. They change you order and ship thing you do not even order and charge you for it. And they wait 30 days to ship your order so you can not return it as there is only a 30 day return policy. Buyer BEWARE!

I tried to cancel my subscription and no matter how you navigate their website or app, it keeps sending you in circles. It's very vague and I just want it permanently cancelled. It's the worst company I have ever dealt with.
