Lost my health insurance last month and saved $102 on Adderall XR 30mg caps at Walgreens using GoodRx. $75 is still worse than the $10 dollar copay before but it's much better than $177!
They claim they GET you name and date of birth, but then strip it from the rest of the info - kinda like the NSA and the Feds.
IF that's true, why do they even get it in the first place.
As far as pharmacys not taking it, all they have to do is scan the coupon in - if they don't at least do that - instruct them on how to do they're job.
My most recent Rx cost $37.00 instead of the usual GoodRx discount price of $6.94. When I went to pick up the prescription they told me that they were no longer honoring GoodRx or another similar discount company. Bottom line was "do you want it or not?" Nice surprise! Have to begin looking for another supplier who will be ok with GoodRx. Problem is, now that all prescriptions are electronic, the doctor needs to know in advance where to send it and if the vendor will cooperate.
Neither Walmart or target accept Rx coupons don't waste your ink and paper.
I went to pick up my 1 prescription at CVS (no insurance) and they said it'd be $110. Looked it up on goodrx and it was only $9 at target! And got my other one there for $7 (not sure how much that one would have been). Awesome site. Would recommend to anyone.
To say I had a few doubts is an understatement. I thought it had to be too good to be true. My mom's medicine is over $700 for a 3-month supply at some places. The absolute cheapest I could find was $240. But with this coupon I was able to get it for $101 at Target! I was already to fight with the pharmacist, or with the GoodRx customer help line, or both. But when I presented the coupon, there was no problem at all. I. Was. Stunned. And very pleased! Don't know how it works, but it really did for us.
I was prescribed a medication that needed prior authorization from my insurance company before I could fill it. Instead of waiting a week or two for the process to finish, I decided to pay for the script out of pocket - the GENERIC was even $175! I looked online for coupons, downloaded the GoodRx app, typed in my prescription and it showed me that the Walgreens near my house had it on sale for $75! (only applicable without insurance). I brought my phone with me and showed the pharmacist, and they typed in the code, and gave it to me for $75 no questions asked - I was out of there within 10 minutes! Can't believe I saved so much THANK YOU GOODRX!
I've used this website a few times for coupons on my medications. I like that it lists several stores and their prices for your medicine so you don't have to physically go there or call to price it out. You can have your medication mailed to you in some cases. It's worth a look, every little bit helps.
More and more pharmacies are now accepting Goodrx and Goodrx gold programs. CVS was not participating but does now. Publix is still a holdout. Walmart DOES take the coupons but you have to shop around to get the best price everytime you fill a script. Kroger is the most consistent place to go. I still save money using the programs.
We printed the coupon and went to Walmart to get Clarithromycin 500 mg, 28 tablets. They didn't give us the discount we were supposed to get according to the website. So, we couldn't buy using it. We found another card to get another discount but not as low as in the website. We would recommend to try with different pharmacies if you print a coupon and see if it may work. We had prescription in Walmart and also the website gave the price for Walmart. But didn't work for us.
Hi Steve - Our prices are based on contracts with the pharmacy. If you have any issues, we'd love to know about them and it's easy to resolve. Please email info@goodrx.com so we can help?
Worked for my Rx at the CVS in Henderson, NV (Whitney Ranch). The pharmacy tech warned me that the discount may not be as high as stated on the coupon, but it was. Had it not been, it still would have helped. I saved about 31% on my Rx. Thanks!
Happy we helped!
Are you all going to be here next year, I sure hope so... u save me more than my insurance does...
We're here to stay!
Walgreens in Alachua, FL refused to accept coupon for a hydrocortisone cream. Said it was below what it costs them. Tried CVS in High Springs, FL. Was told they would accept. Had doctor send prescription to CVS. When talked to them, said could not accept coupon. After calling GoodRX and complaining, I called CVS back and put pressure on them. After some consultation with the pharmacist, they came back bright and cheery and said they would accept coupon. My take on all this... be persistant. Make sure you have a card from GoodRX with group and membership numbers. Go in to pharmacy in person. Have pharmacy call GoodRX.
We're happy to help resolve any issues - just email info@goodrx.com.
About 2 years ago, one of my prescriptions went from $4 to $52 dollars. I wasn't very happy with that so I started looking at the internet for something better and found Goodrx. Thought, well it may be a scam but tried it anyway. Goodrx said the cost that $52 prescription would cost just over $5 at another pharmacy. I went to that pharmacy and lo and behold, the price
For the very same prescription was $5 and some change, just what the Goodrx coupon said it would be. Since then, I've started using Goodrx on about half of my meds. It works for me!
I used my coupon at Walmart for two prescriptions that would have cost $185.00. I saved about $100.00 and paid $82.00. The tech did not blink an eye when I gave him my coupon. It worked like dream.
I was shocked to find my sister in law's medication was so inexpensive at a time that we were in need! Thank you GoodRx and Wal-Mart!
The problem with GoodRx is that they are known as an aggregator. They use several sources to find discounts and don't actually negotiate pharmacy contracts themselves. That said, it should be a good business model like Priceline and other online shopping services. However, GoodRx uses National Drug Codes of massive quantity purchases typically found in large mail order warehouses so their coupon price is often less than the pharmacy's cost for the drug. That is why several people and pharmacies complain that their coupons are invalid.
Hi Al - thanks for your post. GoodRx simply lists available discounts that the pharmacy has contractually agreed to accept. We don't dictate prices to pharmacies, and we're happy to work with pharmacies if there are ever any issues. Feel free to contact us to discuss further.
I just used this for a prescription at the Walmart pharmacy. The prescription was $98 for a 30-day prescription. Someone told me to try this app. I downloaded it and was able to get the prescription at the same Walmart Pharmacy for $17.02! They honored it, but they didn't have that rate available at a nearby Walmart. So I guess you have to go by the location. But in short, I was pleased as punch!
Happy we could help!
If you can find a pharmacy that honors this. It appears to be the better of the apps I've found. But I have a med goodrx didn't honor their coupon, and they changed the coupons since I used it. Luckily I have the coupon saved as it was, but they refuse to honor it, and come up with lies and bogus explanations as to why they don't have to.
Our coupons are accepted at most phamacies across the US; if you've had an issue please email us at info@goodrx.com so we can look into it? Thanks
I see some people here complaining. Well, I believe that goodrx is great because I still don't understand why they give us this discount. I had no insurance and the prescription that I take cost 215$ with good rx I pay 32 $ so it is a blessing!
Answer: Yes we do. Just present coupon to save. Have a nice day
Answer: If you have any questions, we're here to help - please email help@goodrx.com and we'll get back quickly. Pharmacists have the discretion to honor or refuse controlled substance coupons, but most of them (like 99%) will take them, which is why we list them (and indicate that they may not be accepted). Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi Terry! You will need to present the coupon to the pharmacist, usually before, they fill a prescription. If you doctor's office is willing to do so for you then it may be okay, but we would suggest you present a new coupon each time you fill or refill. Sometimes our prices fluctuate and checking the coupons may get you a deeper discount. If you, or your doctor, presented a coupon and the pharmacist, for whatever reason, says the coupon cannot be used please give us a call at 1-888-799-2553, our Advocacy Team would love to assist you! Our hours are Monday-Sunday, between the hours of 8AM and 7PM CT.
Answer: Hi there - can we help you? Head to our help section for information on how we do business.
Answer: It takes very little time. Immediately after sign up you'll receive the information you need to purchase at our discounted rates.
Answer: Hi Shirley! We list coupons for Phentermine here: https://www.goodrx.com/phentermine Please be sure to update the script details and zip code to see prices for your area.
Answer: Please give our GoodRx support team a call at 888-799-2553, so they can contact the pharmacy regarding the price discrepancy, Steve. They're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: GoodRx can be used in place of Medicaid as long as the two aren't combined. Please give us a call at 888-799-2553, so we can contact the pharmacy on your behalf. We're available Mon-Sun, from 6 AM to 9 PM CT.
Answer: Great question, Don! Since GoodRx compares prices at different pharmacies, there are sometimes lower prices with a GoodRx coupon. If you have a GoodRx Gold account, you are still able to use a GoodRx coupon if you find that it offers a better price for your prescription at a pharmacy in your area.
Answer: Hello there Anita, we're sorry for your frustrating experience at Walgreens. Please give us a call so we may investigate this and reach out to the pharmacy on your behalf. We can be reached at 888-799-2553, Monday through Sunday from 8am to 7pm CT.
