FAILED Customer service, holds your domain hostage
December 26, 2022

My email address was missing after unauthorized transfer to 365 platform. The godaddy site wouldn't allow me to recreate my address. After over an hour with customer service, they did not do ANYTHING to help, they did not comprehend that my address was missing and site was not malfunctioning and just kept spewing that emails were transferred. I decided to transfer my services to another company. They're refused to cooperate, after I requested authorization codes 5 TIMES in writing (their site instructions were fraudulent, they directed you to things that didn't exist). When I put the transfer through, they rejected it several times. I'm still dealing with this.
Of course they refuse to refund any if the 5 years they automatically renewed my domains for, before they sprang their charges without consent.

I bought a doman here for my husbands Auto company. Good prices, although my actual purchase didn't come out 99 cents per month. There system is a little tricky to use, but it's better than some others we used. I will be most likely switched my domain service to them, they offered me a great promotional deal.

GoDaddy is the worst platform. I am trying to update a website for a client. GoDaddy knowingly admits they have servers running php v4, and that their virtual environment is open to other security risks like DDoS attacks, hacks, SQL injections, etc., but they refuse to do anything about it. If you want to run a simple Wordpress site, or other CMS system, it will not function properly with anything lower than php 5.6 if you plan to have any current functionality from current versions of WP itself, themes or plugins.

Additionally, refusing to update their server environments leaves every client on these servers in jeopardy. They do this because they want the customer to upgrade to a more expensive VPS plan, which simply isn't needed for a small website. They are a total scam and they will happily put anyone's website at risk for their own financial gain.

Never ever go with GoDaddy if you want a secure virtual environment.

Waited an additional 45 minutes online after 30 minutes in chat. They wouldn't refund a product even though I didn't use it. Instead wanted to issue a store credit. Guessing GoDaddy must be desperate to keep my money. Since they have outsourced their call centre service has drastically declined. Why don't they start supporting jobs in their country of origin? It really frustrates me how they operate globally but outsource services to save money.

Untrustworthy
October 10, 2023

Do not trust GoDaddy more like HoDaddy. I bought a domain and since then my cell phone has been bombarded with spam callers and text messages. I've contacted their customer service and only to be told that it's impossible. They don't sell our information, yet they couldn't explain how I'm getting calls to do my new website. I wonder what else they sell on us.

My server was changed without prior informing me, subsequently my server was down, called and support person said it was now fine. 24 hours later and l0 phone calls from clients unable to book, I called again and the problem was solved.
I pay for 40 hours of SEO monthly, have multiple websites 19 years with godaddy, I spend plenty of money with Godaddy services regularly and expect quality service, this blunder has cost me standing with google, waste of my time and effort all due to lack of honesty by it's employee. What should Godaddy do in order to make this right other than say we are sorry this happen.

Unethical fraud
March 5, 2020

They slowed our site to try and sell a new $4,300 server sollution! We moved to AWS for $3.50 month. Site was not the cause of slow response. GD did it!
If your site has a 20 second lag you are losing visitors!

Never had a problem with them. I have a filter to send their emails to a different folder, then when I need a new service I can look in the folder for a good coupon.
They are the only hosting service I've used who called to tell me they had added a better plan for cheaper and would I like to switch to that one. Customer/Tech support has always been fast and gotten the job done.

I like GoDaddy
March 17, 2012

I like GoDaddy. I highly recommend them. They make having a website easy as pie. I had a website with them for over a year and when it came time to cancel it, there were NO hassles at all! The only problem I had was when I had another website where I was switching domains the switch too a long time. I had to leave GoDaddy because they did not have the right hosting service for the platform of my website, otherwise I would have stayed with them. When I called Customer Service the techs always spoke over my head meaning beyond my ability to understand what hey were talking about. I felt kind of frustrated for that reason. They have since switched ownership so not sure if they have enhanced their services.

Please be aware that they can lose your content.
The Website Builder lost all content that I created (and published) when changing hosting platforms.
I spent 8 phone calls with them (ATS ******* in case anyone from GoDaddy wants to check up on this).
I now have to redo the site (ALL changes were lost)!

Tech Support couldn't find my content that I published. Even after the first 7 calls, they told me they could see it (and the coding) and it wouldn't take long to restore it.
Their backup system didn't actually back it up (again, even though it was published)

I'll be going with a new provider at the end of the month when the contract is finished out.

So utterly, utterly useless!
Hours wasted!

I had domain name for over 6 years with GoDaddy. They started auctioning it off without my consent. The worst part is that this site is designed to take under privileged kids out fishing. I spoke with several support personal all very arrogant and trying to upsell instead of fixing the issue. I tried to bid on the auction as a last effort but GoDaddy also charged me to be able to bid. After that they falsely bid up the price of the auction. They can rot you know where. I will make sure to go out of my way to inform others of GoDaddy unethical practices.

Waist of time and money!
December 7, 2022

I have been Godaddy user since 2005. Multiple web hostings and email accounts. Lately they outsourced their email services to Microsoft. They forced my company to purchase new Version of Microsoft Outlook, several attempts to have all my emails back and constant issues with email. Worst part- customer service! Called today and was told that I will receive guides ho to set up en email. Received them and the same case- NO HELP. What the point to pay Godaddy for the outsourced services instead of paying directly and with horrible customer service to buy any services from Godaddy? Working now of transition to different web hosting and email provider.

Worst hosting ever
December 25, 2015

My site was down 4 times within 1 month. They kept bull$#*!ting and telling me that I need more resources for my site, but it didn't have any visitors back then. I gave up and switched to another provider.

Godaddy has auto charged me 323.64 for web site 3 year hosting thru 2024, that I am not even using. It auto renewed, and unfortunately I did not see this within the 30 day time period. I called to discuss and they claim this was manually renewed. It absolutely was not. So I am stuck with this payment. They refuse to issue even 1 -2 year refund. In this time of COVID and business profits down, shame on Godaddy. I am moving everything away from them. They also charge additional $79.00 for ssl certificate. This is outrageous. There are other hosting sites that include this with the hosting and their cost is cheaper than Godaddy. Godaddy does not care about its customers. It cares about pure profit. Supervisors have no authority to do anything. You are wasting time talking to them. Godaddy should do the right thing and refund at least 2 years worth of charges.

Update:
Finally today they called me and apologize for the miscommunication from their behalf, actually the caller today was awesome and very helpful and really followed up with my problem.

Original review:
Stay away!
I've purchased a com.cn domain from godaddy on 29 April
They asked for documents, I provided them, the message read "domain ready at 6 May"
Since then, whenever I logged in I get asked for the same documentation.
When I click to upload again I get an error message and prompt to contact support.
No ticket system!
You have to call them. They put you on hold to research the issue. Takes forever. Sent you an email. You respond and they never follow back. You have to call them again. I have already done this 3 times.
Really gives you the impression that these guys on customer support really don't care about you or your business.

I have just registered one domain last a few days less than a week. GoDaddy charged my credit cards and send confirmations. However, they said we need to verify your account they called during the weekend and I was out of home for vocations and canceled my registered domain! They had my personal and official name, credit card, and address. Why shall they act like such prematurely? I won't recommend anyone waste their money and time with GoDaddy services.

It gets as bad as you can think. Charged 50usd almost without consent even after I have deleted my card and orders. They are scammy and illegal. Saving client info and charging them illegally! As a software engineer I can assure that don't trust them. After asking for help they kept on sending the same message again and again. Screenshot added there. Boycott and bann godaddy!

Have been doing business with GoDaddy for years and have never had any problems. I always get good deals on domain renewals and have never paid full price due to the abundance of promo codes available. Their customer service is always helpful whenever I need assistance. Good deals on domain pricing. Recommend.
