I book a reservation understanding that under normal circumstances it would be non refundable. On the day of the reservation, my sister has to have an emergency surgery performed and I am the only living relative. This was not excuse to get a room. I was read the company policy 3 times during my call. They have no exception and definitely no
Compassion. Please don't do business with this company.
My daughter booked a room for me on Aug. 10 and received an error message (indicating the reservation did not go through), I believed it was due to the fact that she used her contact info (email and phone#) with my Credit card so we tried again with my contact info and the reservation was confirmed. Unfortunately, a second confirmation (indicating a double booking) showed up while I was on the road. I spoke with the desk clerk when I checked in and explained the error, I thought it had been resolved. Two charges showed up on my Credit Card statement so I disputed the 2nd charge. It took awhile but Getaroom's customer service was willing to look at this again and did issue a refund for the 2nd charge. If you use this site for a reservation be sure to read the no refund policy.

Booked a room through getaroom.com and when I got to the hotel they did not have reservation even though I had the confirmation number from getaroom.com. We called the number from the confirmation email, and of course got passed to 3 people with being cut off or waiting on hold. This lasted for nearly 2 hours until we finally got a fax sent to the hotel confirming our purchase. The one star is because they are legitimate and we finally did get our room. I will not use their service again!
If there was a way to give this site zero stars I would. I wish I had read the other reviews before I used this website. As with many others, when we arrived there was no reservation or room for us despite having a "confirmed reservation" that was fully paid. It was 1130 at night when we arrived. After three hours on the phone with customer service with someone in the Philippines we were sent to an office Plaza believing it was another hotel. We ended up finding a place to stay for the night on our own at 3:30 in the morning. I fully expected them to have a full solution for the issue the following morning. They absolutely had no intention of following up or fixing the problem. It took another two hours the following morning to even begin to get some sort of resolution. In a true stroke of irony, the acted like they were doing me a favor getting me a place to stay. I will never ever use this website again. The customer service was absolutely horrific.
I've been travelling the country since the 1980's for work, and this is THE worst experience of what has been a wide range of experiences. A total sham. Would love to know what shopping center storefront this business operates out of. Hopeful that Hyatt and other hotels will not do business with them much longer. Scott G.
I booked a reservation last evening for hotel rate of $159 when I added my credit card info it was immediately processed for over $230. I never received an email confirmation! I have tried every phone # I can find. This site is terrible! I would rate this site a "0" if your scale went that low!

I had to cancel my reservation since the customer care booked the room in different state with same city name. Gave her all the landmarks while making the reservation but still made the mistake. Told Ms. Maria to cancel it on the same call and was transferred to customer care and was on hold for 53 min. They told me they will check the recordings to work on refund.
Attempted x2 by calling them. Now they don't have the recordings of my call. So I was charged for someone's negligent job and I am totally dissatisfied with the experience and she ruined my trip. Please be aware and careful..

Not sure how I got to GetARoom site, but I was pleased with the ease of booking the room (at a rate lower than the hotel's website offered!), receiving a confirmation within minutes and with the option of cancelling should plans get scuttled. If all goes well, will keep the site for future bookings

I made reservations thru a hotel website complete with pictures etc. I was extremely surprised the next day to call the hotel and found I could not change the reservation since they said it had been made thru a third party called getaroom.com, which I had never heard of. I finally got a copy of my reservation after finding a number for this company on line. They promised a 20% refund for not being able to change but I have not seen anything about that yet on my credit card.

They skirt legality by not identifying themselves and pretending to be the hotel reservation service rather than who they really are. They add extra fees! You wore will pay more than dealing with the hotel directly so make sure you stay away from them!
This site is a complete scam. They take your money right away- which should have been a flag for me-and do nothing to help when there's a problem. They just say "sorry". Norma- the night shift manager is useless- she refused to help. They lied with everything they said. The hotel was willing to work with us to help but the site refused any assistance. I was trying to make reservations for my son- he is across the country- and it was a horrible experience. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!

Took over 30 mins to just edit my hotel reservation from 2 nights to 1 night. I had to talk to three different people all which asked me the same questions over and again. Would never use this site again.

Booked a room for two nights and the Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees showed $75.00 on the web. When we received our confirmation, the fees were $122.58. They also misrepresented themselves as Hotels For Everyone. I later was informed that they use the same call center. I contacted them and I wanted a breakdown of the charges and they would not provide. Their explanation was that the tax recovery charges is a recovery of the estimated taxes that they pay to the lodging suppliers for our reservation. These charges were way more than what the hotel would have charged if we would have booked directly from them. They get you by having a low booking but make up the difference in the so called Tax Recovery Charges & Service Fees and the room is nothing like the room they advertise on their SCAM website. I will not use this service again!
Booked 2 rooms at Wyndham Tulsa. Arrived at hotel and no reservation in the system. On phone with getaroom.com for over an hour while they claimed they were attempting to contact the hotel. The front desk did not get a call or an email at that time. The operator claims they can not issue a refund even though they never made the reservation. Now im out $201.52

We contacted the hotel the next day to inquire about early check in and they told us we had no reservations while my credit card was fully charged almost immediately. We called and I am still unclear on the matter
Booked a london hotel for £130.77... thought I was booking directly with the hotel... was charged £198.68... The difference was for tax recovery and service fees?!... It did not show up until payment had been taken. Have tried to call to cancel but impossible to get through. Called the hotel who said that the booking was made by Agoda. Rang Agoda who were very unhelpful and said that they had sold the rooms on to getaroom and would take no responsibility. This is a con and they should be shut down... Agoda should know better than to have anything to do with them... shame on them
I will never book any holidays with yourselves. I have been charged over £60 in charges for a cancellation. No fees are mentioned at the of booking.

Scam. Do not use it. First, they add additional charges that you don't see until after you are charged. Then, you can't cancel! I booked rooms that were $150 per night MORE than what I thought and then the cancellation fees were going to be more than $1,000 for a four-night booking! They are scam artists. Beware. This company is terrible.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
