Watch out for them! I was stranded in Galveston when the port closed and our cruise ship could not sail. Using my phone I tried to find a place to stay with shuttle. I thought I was calling the hotel to find the price - it looks like they copied the hotel's site - but instead I got Get A Room (which did not disclose who they were). The person was quite helpful and booked a hotel in just a few minutes. She quoted the hotel price at $96, said with taxes and fees it would be $111, and asked for my approval to charge that which I gave with my credit card info. When I got to the hotel they said the cost of the room plus tax was $79. I thought $32 was a bit stiff for a few minutes work. I checked my email receipt and found they charged $131, which of course I did NOT approve and made their fee an outrageous $52! I complained and they refunded $25. But the point is to charge more than what I verbally approved is fraud!
I didn't realize I was booking through a third party website until I called customer service three minutes after making the reservation for the wrong dates. I was told by a young man named Murphy that modifications or cancellations couldn't be made because it was prepaid. After calling the hotel and informed they couldn't do anything about it, I called customer service again, this time speaking to a woman named Murphy and was told the same thing. Looks like I'll be disputing it with my credit card company.
Do not use this website. They have zero interest in you as a customer and do not want to help. I made an error in booking a room and due to their no refund policy they would not change the date of my reservation. I was just out $150.00. Do not book through this site. They also never sent the money they collected from me to the hotel, as a result the hotel was not able to help in resolving the issue either because they never got paid. Scammers!
I reserved a hotel room in the wrong city and besides the charge for the room ($225) was charged an additional $140 in fees. I called immediately to cancel and they refused to cancel, saying that I agreed to no cancellation policy, which is a complete lie. Then they offered me 15% off, then 20% off but it was the wrong city and I would not use it but they just stonewalled me. I will dispute the charge on my credit card. Buyer beware, this is a very shady and unethical place to book any hotel rooms.

I was traveling to Chicago for a dance convention for my daughter. The convention offered discount rooms and it was through this service. When I called, it was passed the lockout date for the discount so I asked for the next best price - which ended up being $50 a night above retail. I didn't realize this until after my stay, so good job GetARoom, your system of catching people like me that miss the discount window really worked in your favor and left me paying way more than I should! At least I have learned my lesson and can spread the word for others to avoid your so-called service.

We are so disappointed. We did weeks of research and found an incredible deal at a well-regarded hotel. With just one week until our trip, we received a phone call to tell us that there had been a pricing error and they were cancelling our reservation. Now we are scrambling without time to properly research hotels to book something.
Booked two rooms via getaroom.com. Hotel was unfit for purpose. They refused a refund even after I supplied photographic evidence. I had not realised this is a US based company. It cost me £20 for the phonecall, staff unhelpful. I booked in Sterling, paid in Sterling then they charged me £7 to convert to USD. Avoid this booking agent.
I booked a room at Holiday Inn Express & Suites through Booking.com and the room charge was $226.25 to be billed at the time of checkout with cancellation allowed up to the day before occupancy. Thirty minutes later I realized I needed another reservation for the tail end of my trip. I went back on line and thought I was utilizing the same booking service. It looked the same but I have since been informed that it was getaroom.com. The room rate was higher but I assumed that was due to the date. The trip was cancelled and cancellation with booking.com was accomplished without a problem. Getaroom.com refused any refund and kept the entire $310.58 even though they only would have been entitled to a small fee if the room was not cancelled. I will pursue a remedy from my credit card company and hope that other travelers will not be trapped in their web of deceit.

This hotel website is awful. Customer service is completely unhelpful and basically cut me off. Took our money saying they cannot help in anyway. Website details an unclear but soon want to take money off you on a page where you cannot check your booking. When we tried to navigate back it's still unclear and customer service really don't want to know. We will not be using this hotel chain again!

I was super scared booking with a company besides the big name brands. The hotel my group was staying in was sold out but this site said they had some availability. I am back from my trip and everything was smooth. I will definitely look at this site for future vacations. Best risk I've taken in a while. :)
Our booking was quick and easily made. We booked 5 twin rooms and the price was very competitive, the cost was in US dollars so be prepared to do a currency conversion. Never used GetARoom before so hope all goes well with our booking later this year!
I booked a hotel to coincide with a jazz festival and my 32nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunate my nephew passed form cancer. The funeral is being held during the time I booked the vacation. The small print on the reservation said NO REFUND. I had no luck with Affirm who paid the amt in full. Finally, when i reached out to geta room, I was treated with compassion and respect and within 24 hours Affirm received a refund and I am no longer on the hook for this. They did what affirm did not do in a week in 24hrs, Affirm even asked me to send in a copy of the obituary! When I called the next day, they said they did not ask for it. GETAROOM solved my problem. Do NOT book through GetARoom.com. They use shady practices where you believe you are clicking on the hotel site. They also book hotels that do not have rooms available. For us, we booked a room which wasn't available in Athens, TN. We called them within 10 minutes and they stated they would process a refund but it would be 3-5 days before we received it "depending on our financial institution" I called 5 business days later, they stated it's already in process and I needed to wait another 3-5 days. I called back 3 business days later and was told "they have a new process and it wasn't processed correctly. You need to wait another 3-5 business days." Each time waiting and being placed on hold multiple times. IT IS A SCAM! Read reviews, it's the same story over and over.

DO NOT USE Them. Have had to deal with 5 representatives and was disconnected 3 times. They told me my reservation was cancelled and I would get a full refund yet when I called the Hyatt they told me otherwise. I was yelled at and hung up on. How can they be in business? Hyatt should stop doing business with this group of incompetents.
Booked a room and on arrival at the hotel I found they had my name correct, but nothing else--wrong address, wrong credit card. Called getaroom to find out why they transmitted someone else's address and credit card type and number to my reservation and what hotel got my address and card info. Had to talk to someone whose english was barely decipherable, wasting half an hour to no avail. Finally called my card company and cancelled my card (took two minutes). The kicker is getaroom charged me $106 but the hotel receipt said the room charge was only $71! Avoid this site at all costs!
Agent did not identify that he was not working for the hotel chain that we were booking and that using this service would cost an extra $30 above the hotel fee.
Service rep called and listened to my complaints very respectfully. She explained that the room price we saw on the receipt from the hotel was their cost and we would never get such a rate because an individual consumer can't buy in bulk like they do. She offered a $20 credit as compensation. This is good customer service.

Made a reservation in St Louis through this company but I needed to cancel due to my radiation treatment appointment. I called to cancel 3 days in advance but they refused to refund anything. Shame on me for not reading the fine print, but that is just very bad business.
Cheers to GetARoom for paying attention to issues brought forward and dealing with them. After no response from the rep that sold us the rooms, a less than pleased post on sitejabber, I was reached out to by getaroom and my issue was resolved. I didn't ask for the world, just the going rate for the room and not what I was charged. Very happily made it right. Very impressed that they cared enough to reach out and deal with it... Well done!
Booked with GetARoom, for a hockey tournament, Chris our rep got us a price of 109US, non cancellable, plus service fees and taxes a room. The same day other families booked the same room for 89 with no fees through the hotel! Many of us have called and have not go a call back from GetARoom to make it right. Do not recommend.
The representative was knowledgeable, responsive to our request for ground-floor rooms due to our advanced ages and various trouble climbing stairs. I was warned by a review that there is no elevator. We have three women all over the age of 75 staying there in one of two rooms reserved for one night.
By far the worst hotel site on the web, book a smoking kind bed room at hollywood florida, then when i got there i was told that the hotel is a non smoking hotel. Called the company and ask to be moved to another hotel they charged me again and promised to return the credit onto my card. They never did, i've called them 4 times and they say the same thing, it is being processed. Tomorrow I will call my bank and place a claim on them.

For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
