Great Experience.
The length of this review is getting to me! Many people don't have the time or the inclination to write more if they are satisfied with the service.
I made a reservation through Getaroom for the Rafaello hotel in Chicago. I got an illness and was unable to travel. I contacted Getaroom to start a refund process, they said to ask the hotel. So I called hotel and the general manager purposefully ignored me. I spoke to other people working at the hotel and they told me that GM was aware of my calls but didnt want to speak with me. She just wanted to run the clock until it was the date of my checkin and it would appear that I was a no-show. She knew I was sick but purposefully avoided all my calls and emails. All the other employees felt bad for me but said they didnt want to go over her head. I contacted getaroom multiple times bc theyre the ones who had actually taken the money, relayed the situation, and the reps and managers said, not our problem, too bad. Literally. I was taken back. How can you have a contract with a hotel that purposefully avoids their patrons, a GM at that! And up until now, no one ever asked about how Ill I am. So sad. Im a human being, at least address my concern, a GM that avoids their patrons? Thats crazy. And Getaroom says, not aloud problem. Wow! Money in the trash for nothing. :( you dont treat people that way.
UPDATE ON 5/5/2018: they refunded me and sent me an apology email. So that was nice.
GetARoom found me what I wanted for a good price and in an expeditious manner/ Now I'm resenting (slightly) that I'm being asked to provide a description of at least 100 words which I don't have time to do. Shame on you!

The hotel I booked was disgusting! I spoke to the front desk about needing to cancel, they were very understanding and told me it wouldn't be a problem it would be refunded through the 3rd party I booked with! However it apparently was a big problem and I have called multiple times and cannot get the issue resolved. They are not helpful at all and I will never use them again!
When there was some confusion about my booking Getaroom quickly responded with a personal phone call and resolved the issue.
Good booking and hotel was great. Easy to use website and app. Will use again. Comparisons were helpful
It was easy enough to book a room through TripAdvisor, but I did not realize that they were a throughway for other third parties like GetARoom. All worked fine but nothing snazzy. I would like to have known it was not TripAdvisor actually booking the room for me (they are certainly big enough to have a bookings group under their umbrella!) rather than a third party.
My secretary booked thinking it was the hotel direct, but we realized it was Get A Room instead. Site appeared to be the hotel. Was charges about $40 fee in with taxes. I called 10 minutes after booking and tried to cancel, was told they could cancel but I still had to pay the entire amount ($169) as a fee. I threatened a bad review, she said "sorry, there is nothing I can do" NEVER use Get a Room!
Both the kayak.com and getaroom.com websites did not accept either of my payments. The error message stated it was a payment processing issue. I talked to three reps and finally got it sorted. We had to book one room at a time. The whole process took over an hour when it should have taken less than ten minutes. We did get a great rate.
I made a booking and quickly cancelled that booking. However GetaRoom had deducted the full amount from my card, and i am still waiting for my refund. I am distressed about my money, and would never use this site again.
I just hope my refund will be credited to my card soon.
I booked a reservation for two rooms and had to change it to one room. The agent had to cancel the original reservation and create a new one. This took 20 minutes that I didn't have.
Made a reservation I thought directly to Best Western in Buda Texas. Had no idea it was a third party until I recieved my reservation number and was overcharged on my card. Absolutely could not get anyone to cancel. When I finally spoke to someone and asked for a cancellation and refund, he basically said i had been scammed, and too bad for me. I am nervous about these people EVEN HAVING MY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION! Absolutely disgusted!
Its easy to find places to go and convenient,! I love these website. Im find the deals and excellent hotels anywhere.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a superb rate. I was a little disappointed of not being able to pay at the hotel. I guess you can't have it all!
There really isn't much more to say. The price beat all the others for the same hotel! It was very quick, and easy!
I cancelled the reservations due to the deceptive selling. No mention they BILLED my credit card within an hour, when I was only RESERVING a room, NOT PAYING for a room two months in advance!
No mention of ANY $25 fees to cancel the reservarion... a horrible customer service experience!

This site gives great prices, but no cancellation... I only wish we could have that option in case of an emergency. But, I could not beat the price.
I DID NOT realize I was using a 3rd party company when I made a hotel reservation. I cancelled it with in 30 minutes of booking it. When I got online for my bank account I saw the money for a room I cancelled was taken out of my account in full. When I called the hotel to ask about it they said they don't charge for the room until arrival. So i called getaroom and was told they could do nothing because I had the wrong cancellation. The agent only decided to help me when I told him I was getting irritated that he was telling me they could take money out of my account even AFTER I CANCELLED THE RESERVATION. From now on when booking a hotel I will make sure I call the hotel directly so I NEVER GET SCAMMED AGAIN! This practice should be illegal! So much for free cancellation if they charge you 2 months before your check in date. Be were of who you're dealing with!
Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
