GetARoom rep lied to me and said he was with Best Western. They then billed my card for more than what was agreed and refused to cancel and refund my payment. I googled Best Weston Canon City to book a hotel reservation. I called the number that appeared. When I called that number, I asked if I was calling Best Western correctly, the representative said "yes". Later in the call, I asked again if I was speaking with Best Western and not a third party booking company and the representative said "yes". We agreed on a reservation and price based on a wedding booking reservation room rate. The total with taxes was $245.75. I was then charged over $330. When I called the hotel to fix the billing error, I was told that the reservations were not made through them but through a third party called "GetARoom". I called GetARoom, they apologized for the misrepresentation and over-billing but refused to give me a refund. Left me on hold for 54 minutes... so far.
Update while I stand by my initial review I was contacted by the company and have received a full credit for my charge. It should not have been this difficult but they did a good job of correcting their mistake after I complained on a couple of different sites. There would not have been a problem if someone who cou. D make these decisions talked to me in the first place.
I was on line looking at reservations. I was about to book and realized this was not The Starwood site. I hit the back button or at least I tried to hit the back button and I received an error message. I surfed a little more to get to the Starwood site. I went to reset my password for my Starwood guest account causing me to geo to my email and found that I had made a reservation through Get a room which I had never heard of. I clicked on the reservation and cancelled it only to find out that the reservation was non-refundable and I now had no room and had lost my $266 that the room cost. I called get a room customer service and they said they were sorry that they could not refund me or reinstate the reservation.

This has to be the absolute worst booking site EVER. I had a very bad experience with a hotel that booked thru this site. I filed a complaint with the hotel, and they ultimately agreed to refund my money. The problem was with getaroom.com. This had been escalated, and I even managed to get the hotel manager on a 3 way call, contact get a room and everyone agree to the refund, that was on June 16th, it is now July 9th. Still waiting, after they told me the funds would be back in my account within 48 hours. My initial call to get a room was on June 2!
Horrible customer service! Book directly with a hotel, or use a more commonly known site like Booking.com or Expedia.com!

On June 6th 2018 my wife booked a room on what she thought was Hamptoninn? Hilton web site at New Albany, Ohio. Over all was three nights on June 27th, 28thand 29th. For hip surgery at a Hospital in New Albany. Confirmation came back with # and prices of USA$426.99 for 3 nights plus USA$$218.24 Local Taxes. Total was USA$645.23. We only required two nights and checked out before 12; 00 noon which left one night no used should have been returned to me. Hotel stated since I booked through 3Rd part I would have to go back through them for refund. Too date I have not been able to get any answers as to why a refund is in order. Hotel only charged $445.29 which I should have received a refund of $134.53. Is this an agreement between the Hotel Chain and Get A room to fraud people?. I am out of pocket almost $400.00 and Have Credit Card Co. Investigating and will turn over to the Government Agency if I do not receiver full recovery. If others have received this kind of treatment I would like to know about it as Lawyer is investigating Thanks

My hotel gave me a refund through get a room. I have yet to receive it. I was passed from operator to operator, and they all acted like they don't speak English. It is 2 months later and no refund yet. I am so disappointed and disappointed. I sent emails also with no response.

2nd Update: Interestingly enough I have not yet received my refund to my credit card, as per promised in 3-5 days. It has now been 10. Be very cautious.
Update: After writing this review, I received a call from getaroom who expressed the desire to resolve the issue and will be sending a credit and refund to my credit card company. This was the only way I had for getaroom to respond to me, which is unfortunate for their company. I should have my refund posted to my account in 3-5 days, per my email.
They advertised for a room for $147 per night. After booking with them they charged an additional $134 "fee" to my credit card. After attempting to cancel they state it was a no cancelation rate. Used a disguised name called "Guest Reservations" on a website that looked like my hotel website. Only after attempting to cancel did I discover I even booked on GetARoom. They are scam artists at their best. Shocked that the credit card companies and everyone are ruled by them. Steer completely clear of them!

This service is horrible. They lie and over charge. They told me rooms were not available at a certain price for my conference. I later learned that the room were available at a certain price for my group. I was also charged an enormous amount taxes and amenities. I will never use this service again.

I was overcharged $200 and when I contacted customer service they where rude and very unprofessional. It should have been a simple booking but being overcharged and spoken to so rudely has put a real damper on our trip. They refused to help and their only suggestion was that they would cancel my booking but still charge me the full amount absolute blackmail.

They lie to you and charge you big fee, tell you all lies about hotels and once you pay reservation there is nothing you can do. I reserved a room in SF day before yesterday. I have medical condition and I told the rep from getaroom company my requirements when I was booking the room. She told me breakfast included and hotel is 4 star and when we checked in the room was smelly and bathroom was so outdated. When I asked about the breakfast the front desk guy mentioned that its a basic hotel so they dont provide anything there. Believe me or not I checked the bed there was not even bedsheet on it underneath blanket. Room service phone was old and full of dust and of course not working. No coffee not even water there in room. You have to go to front desk every time. I called rep from getaroom company and told her all the concerns. She didnt have any answers for me and she told me to go to front desk and mention my concerns. I would never ever use this company. Its a fraud so be very careful when use this company.

I booked a room under the guise of ""Today's Special" which was $8 under the regular room rate I had searched with AAA or senior discount - it was non-refundable, which was fine since we were leaving today. MY FAULT that I didn't review all the way to the end of the page to see that they had tacked on $25/room/night in "Tax Recovery Charges and Service Fees" = ***Then they issued me a $50 refund when I wrote with my concerns

When on the phone with the reservation agent (who turned out to be with GetARoom), I told him that I wanted to call the Hilton hotel directly, he told me that the hotel would direct me right back to him, so I thought I was talking to the Hilton reservation desk, but found out later that this was a lie. I also found out from Hilton that GetARoom purchases hotel rooms in bulk from them and then resells them for less. All I needed was an itemized receipt with a breakdown of taxes paid, which GetARoom refused to provide, and they would not let me talk to a supervisor. Hilton said it was out of their hands since it was a third party who sold me the room. Although I got a room at the Hilton, they informed me that the rooms were overbooked when I got to the hotel. Why did they need to tell me this? Like it was my fault? This reflects bad on Hilton too, for selling rooms to an unethical third-party business and then punishing me for it.
My issue was resolved by Getaroom. Com. Their customer service representative contacted me by phone and refunded the supposed cleaning fees

I received a 100% refund after making my initial review. They also reimbursed me 50% for the extra room that I had to book due to their mistake.
I was supposed to get a room for 6 people. When I got to the hotel, the room booked was only for 4 people. I had to pay for another room. GetARoom would not refund my money or let me speak with a manager. When I booked through them, I actually thought that I was booking through Hilton. It should be illegal for them to come up on a google search like they do looking as if they're the hotel. This is an unethical company. Please do not book a room through them.
I used GetARoom to book a room near the Omaha Zoo and found a very affordable hotel for our stay... less than $70 and even had a pool. I am a single mom with two boys ages 12 and 14 and they loved the hotel and I loved the price and hotel! We had no problem checking in. I would use getaroom again.
I booked a room through getaroom for $205 a night ($230 something with fees). When I checked in, the hotel told me their rate was $137 a night. When I called customer service, I got someone that didnt even speak good English and said all she could do was remove about $30 in fees which is still $68 high per night. Rip off!

I booked a 2 night stay in Moscow and when I got to the hotel, they informed me that they had my reservation, however, the hotel did not get paid by Getaroom and that they were not reliable. They would not give me access to my room unless I paid them or if Getaroom called and talk to the hotel manager. The hotel staff said that Getaroom in many occasions have not make payments. I told them that they had taken my money since 2 months ago but they would not listen to me unfortunately. I had to spend time calling Getaroom and because of time difference it was a hassle. I will never make reservations with them ever again.

After I was told that my refund would be issued. I finally received he adjustment to my account. Customer Service called and wanted to confirm that I received the refund.
DO NOT ever book a room with this site. I thought I was booking direct from Hilton Garden Inn as I normally do but I made a mistake and what a big one that was.
They overcharged by $50.00 a night and when I cancelled 5 days before they never cancelled and did not refund my money.
I am still working on my refund. They may say that they have a no cancellation policy but everyone knows that the law indicates if you cancel within 3 days of the date of service that you are within the law (US).
Keep all your documentation include dates and times.
Our AirBNB reservation fell through so I was frantically looking for a room at a much lower hotel price than what I was finding in Boston. This site saved me about $30 more than other sites that offered the exact same room. The hotel had good reviews on all the sites so I trusted that I wasn't 'getting what I'm paying for. Glad Kayak offered GetARoom as an option.

For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.

There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
