I waited until I stayed at the hotel until writing this review. I would highly recommend getaroom. They were amazingly helpful and friendly with my booking on the phone and when I checked into the hotel I was given my choice of floors, not shoved in the corner like some other websites. I will defiantly use them again whenever I travel. Thanks so much they certainly made it easy.
Absolutely horrible! I was double charged and now I have to jump through hoops to try and get a refund. This has caused me a setback I was not planning on! Like many I live paycheck to paycheck. Spending the night at a Hotel was supposed to be a great getaway for a celebration. A treat for ourselves. My husband is on dialysis and not working. I just wanted he and I to have a special night. But now that special night has cost us twice what it should have. And with no more money coming in until Friday we are in a serious jam. Even if you have the extra money to throw away don't give it to these crooks. They claim "no fees" that is an absolute lie! At least $20 extra is what we were charged on top of what was stolen from us besides.

My second encounter was so frustrating. I needed to change the dates for my conference. The guy was hard to understand and took so long I didn't even want to finish the transaction. (10/16/18)

I had an awful experience with GETAROOM.COM 4 days ago. I had a confirmed reservation in August and when I went to the hotel they could not find my reservation and I have to pay again even I have already paid it. I tried to get in touch, 10 minutes on the phone they did not do anything. Then they send me an email that they will call to the hotel, nothing have been done. The manager of the hotel has been told me, that they do not have a contract with getaroom.com. It was a third party company which I have never used. It was a nightmare. Stay away of Getaroom.com...
Wrong hotel was booked and then when tried to correct wrong date was booked. Have tried to cancel and still no confirmation of cancellation.
I was pleased that GetARoom got me the best price for my hotel booking and it was done in a quick and efficient manner. I would use them again.

Both my husband and I booked a room for the same vacation and needed to cancel one of them. They will allow you to cancel but you will not get your money back.
I did not realize I was booking with a third party & it was not revealed by the agent. I would not use this method to book a room. I cancelled the reservation. Very much disappointed & dissatisfied that you've charged my card & tied up my funds. I will not use you ever again.
Long story short... and we should have known better when they got me to pay up front, but we wanted to get to the hotel before the storm ( Michael) started dropping rain on us.
Total hotel cost through GetARoom. $206.00
Actual cost had we bought direct... $146.00
And yes. Both figures included the taxes.
You got it...$60.00 more by using GetARoom.
And when we booked, we actually thought we were booking direct with Homewood Suites.
(Not trying to be a total crybaby, we called them to have a chat, but after holding for a little over 20 minutes waiting on a supervisor to pick up, we hung up.
So, shame on me for being in a hurry. But shame on GetARoom for answering the phone with hotel reservations', and then sticking it to us.
So here is the fact... if you want to pay more for your hotel room, please call GetARoom.
I had booked online and the booking system had changed the dates resulting in my booking being for the wrong date! What a nightmare! My only choice was to call the booking line. I got really lucky, the Advisor was able to resolve the problem. I won't ever use onlibooking again.
I was skeptical of the price I was given for a room at the Country Inn and Suites in Maryland and was prepared to cancel the reservation. But when I called the motel direct, the price they quoted me was $18 more per night than the GetARoom price.
I found the booking with the Best Western in New Albany was super easy. The rate was far lower through TripAdviser than with any other site.
We have always stayed with Hampton Inn ever since it opened, but the prices have gone out of sight. If the Best Western is as good as the reviews we will make them our new go to hotel in New Albany.
Booking is very straight forward with getaroom, unfortunately i had to cancel my booking which was also very easy, we will be using getaroom again soon after our first experience with them.
My representative helped resolve an issue that would have made our stay uncomfortable. We are very satisfied.
The cancellation policy states two conflicting statements.
"Bookings cancelled after 30 days in advance are subject to a fee of 1 night's room. Bookings cancelled after 4pm date of arrival are subject to a fee of 1 night's room."
We tried to cancel 3 nights in advance and they would not let us. We called the hotel direct and they referred us to GetARoom. GetARoom would not let us cancel. When asked to speak to a manager, Katie in Customer Service stated she was not is and most likely she would not return our call.
Since this post, Getaroom has refunded our full one nights fee. We are pleased they responded by doing the right thing.
Site said I didn't need to pay a deposit until 1 week before my stay. I booked the room for 3 nights six months away and they charged my credit card in full.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
