Money hungry
October 17, 2023

I was insured with geico for almost a year. One day my payment was due they upcharged my payments due to incorrectly saying I obtained my license last year when I obtained it 4 years ago. I went from $50 to $300 per month because of their lack of research. I wasn't notified that they noticed this "issue" and would be up charging me either. Never again geico.

I have been with GEICO for 28 years now I am departing and the reasons is that they are not loyal to their customers. I have always paid on time and the full amount. Never have file a claim. Every six month the rate goes up $20.00 plus. All those commercials they have are an over kill. Geico claims their ads are from a separate account. I suggest they need to transfer from that account to the customer so they will stop engaging in the worst form of gamemenships to reach their own goals. Thanks for the road side service. If you want a company that is loyal to there customer GEICO is not the one. Thanks for allowing me to post this comment. Kathy

The best of the best
September 29, 2019

Insurance, we all need it. I never could really afford Geico, but I get a discount because I'm a Navy Federal customer. It is by far the best insurance company I've been with, that I can recall. Glad to be a customer.

The fact that most American could not work during this Covid 19 disaster causing extreme financial damage to their house hold, Geico stepped up and is helping reduce our policy's with a 15 % discount. This is amazing that companies like Geico care for not only for the economy but for their customers and their wellbeing. Thank you from my house to yours, may god bless you all.

I had geico for 2 years which was fine, then early 2023 the premiums for both my car and home were going to go up 60%. I called to see why since there weren't any incidences or claims, was it the age of home and car, the age of me, something I'm not aware of? They said it was too many claims in my state were filed so they had to increase rates. So I called a local insurance agent, and easily got better coverage for LESS than I was paying to begin with with geico. I could see maybe a 10-15% increase for inflation or whatever reason but 60% increase out of nowhere lost this customer. Geico was very prompt in issuing my refund though so that was nice.

This company targats veterans who believe that Geico will help when veterans need it most, Geico will not they will double bill those veterans on every occasion they can get away with. Pay a little more and get a better insurer in my book this company really sucks. Geico tried its hardest to get me to pay the same bill twice each month for about 5 months and I am disabled and living on a fixed income did they care? Not a bit

After getting rear ended GEICO told me the damage caused **in spot my car was hit** was not caused by the accident and refused to pay repairs. Also, they will and legally can refuse to pay a body shop's prices and charge you the difference. I do not know how their business is legal, but the cheaper prices you get by switching is not worth it even a little bit if you get in even a minor accident.

Just wanted to give a review about Geico. I've had geico for 17 years and I don't have any real beef with this insurance company. When I call in with questions I normally get to speak with someone in about a minute. When I got a ticket for speeding, Geico forgave this and did not penalize me by raising my rates. When I have had a claim for an accident or just needing a tow I have had all prompt service. My mom turned me on to this company when I was a teenager and I have never felt the need to look into another company. Not paid for this review. Just the average person with normal driving habits. One thing though that I would like to add to be fair is that my rates rarely go down, so if anything I would like to see a decrease in my overall policy.

After having to change insurance carriers due to s move eyes GEICO is extremely corrupt.Insurance companies in the US are NOT regulated by the Gov.Why? They can make their own laws. They run America. But I got lucky.I was able after complaining about their horrible customer service staff,an extremely intelligent, caring and knowledgeable customer service agent.Important! She has been with the company 12 years.DO NOT TALK TO ANY customer service staff WITHOUT asking how long they have had their job.Their knowledge makes a BIG difference in helping you.
You can tell right away.

They added our son onto our policy without our knowledge. He didn't even live with us. Jumped our premium by $450 a month. State farm said this was illegal but Geico does it all the time hoping it won't be noticed. State farm saved us $250 a month and never added drivers without us requesting it.

Think Twice
February 23, 2023

I had the car and motorcycle with Geico, they offered 5% discount to get the house policy. So I did and they raised my vehicle insurance 10% on the first bill that was due. (note I have never made a claim with them at all over 10 years period of being with them. I moved my policy over to Progressive for the vehicle. I called Geico and told them that I was going to. I'm now getting threating letter saying my policy is pass due and they are subject to normal collection. Geico will be loosing the house next. This is how they treat people who pay their bills on time and don't make claims.

Claim
March 15, 2022

My vehicle received damage at some point. I didn't notice it until I went to fill it up. A vandalism is a 100 dollar deductible and a collision is a 500 dollar deductible. With no proof of a collision guess what their employee's final evaluation of the damage was? You guessed it, a collision. With no proof of a collision. It's just Joshua's opinion at geico. So if your claim is on the fence you can bet Geico will always put themself first over you.

Denied to pay towing and storage fees. Told to negotiate the fees and they'd reimburse! This with full coverage auto insurance. Steer way clear from GEICO!

Geico Better Online
August 14, 2017

Geico is always much easier to deal with online. You avoid all the questions to confirm saved info and avoid idle chit chat and hold times. Online is also straight forward as far as rates, what you see is what you get. Nice quick and fast, and you when you are done you can have your info faxed and emailed to multiple emails.

Getting Loan approval
January 23, 2023

It took me several months before Geico could approve my insurance and loan applications. I really shouldn't be judged for having a 645 credit score. Every living human shouldn't be limited because of that. Had to hire revolutionary hacktivist 'w e b g h o s t 33' on insta gram who helped clean up and repair my credit to decent status before the approval

STAY AWAY!
June 21, 2023

STAY AWAY! I have been a loyal customer since I could drive (17 years). Zero accidents. No late payments. I got into my first collision and they claimed that Collison Coverage was removed. They would not even send a car assessor to look at the damages. I am a Veteran and a hard working single mom...and they showed no good faith. I will NEVER recommend to anyone, because when you need them, they aren't there.

This company used to be decent and fair, not anymore! Now all they do is focus on taking advantage of costumers. I had a policy with these people for twenty years, never had an issue and when someone else decided to run into my lane and hit my car totaling it GEICO, my insurance company decided to cancel me, even though i was 0% at fault. DO NOT TRUST THEM! DON'T WAIT UNTIL THIS HAPPENS TO YOU.

Claim
February 18, 2022

Had an accident on January 4,2022. The claim has been handled very poorly. I can't get anyone to call me back. I have left several messages for multiple people and no one has called me back to attempt to explain this process to me. My car is at the collision center and has not been fixed. Geico has the worst customer service ever. At this point, I am thinking about getting an attorney to help with this property damage claim. People, please go elsewhere. My clams team consists of:

Melissa *******639
Sarah keenan *******633
Alyce turner *******337
Michael dewereff *******268

None of these people have attempted to call me back. This is the worst service I have ever received. I will be switching insurance companies within the week.

RIP OFF!
September 6, 2022

Geico raises your rates without letting you know! No incidents and a good driving record do not matter. If you use auto-pay, they will sneakily raise your rates. I quit Geico and they OWE ME 250 BUCKS! Which they drag their feet on refunding. I went to progressive and pay 1/2 of what geico charges for the same coverage! Now I have to keep calling these clowns to get my refund! DO NOT USE GEICO!

WARNING! Do not let them issue any check, do not sign anything giving authorization to any shop to sign a 2 party check. "Inside deals," A 2 party check is Lien holder and me, The lien hold under all circumstances should sign any insurance check, and mail to customer. Once Geico, reissues check to shop before work is done, you are stuck if the shop does nothing. They "Geico's" position, no liability or recourse it's on you. So if they paid a shop & the shop closed, your stuck. I have never heard of paying for services in advance, before work is done. Lack of transparency, Integrity, huge potential for Fraud., insurance prices go up. If you take your car to auto repair do you pay for it before the work is done? No!

MUM No Response -Hail damage claim
October 3, 2018
Previous review

I have had the most horrifying experience with my insurance co. I have had for 10+ years. On a hail claim a check was issued 2 party Lien Holder & myself, it was later reissued to the shop owner at his request and mailed directly to him. He then subbed out the work to a 2nd shop outside of my city and the insurance co went to this 2nd location to do a supplement. Geico wrote a check to this location and myself, I never saw or had information that these actions were taken. The initial repair (and should have been the only one) 2500, for replacement part of 1300 + labor. No replacement part were installed, the damage still exist. I have written and requested an investigation into the claim, since all this was never communicated to me or authorized to use a different facility. Best of all the only damage was the replacement part, I have said there was in no way shape or form almost 5K of damage done to the vehicle. I have notified the bank that issued & cashed the checks, I have contacted Geico. This started in July 30, I have not received a response or concern with the handling, leaving all the decisions to the 1st shop. This is lease vehicle, so any damage will be on my plate. My understanding is the purpose of the 2 party check is to protect the lien holder. I am shocked has anyone
Ever had such a situation, For someone over 65, disable to receive no support/ communication whatsoever & lack of financial responsibility for the actions. I am hearing this is pretty normal to pay for repairs in advance and to issue additional payment in advance with no notice to the policyholder. Copies of the cancelled checks are issued to 2 different shop and the endorsement for my name is two different signatures (not me). I am alarmed it feels shady like an inside set up, to scam insurance & policyholders.
