Two days ago I received s letter from Geico saying that my application for the insurance didn't go through because I have not sent in the required documentation to them which I had already sent Long time ago! So I right away shopped for another insurance company that I had no problem getting through and my application was accepted. Then two days later I received another letter from Geico saying my application was accepted and told me to pay the premium right away in order to get covered. But too bad! I already paid for the other insurance!

Overrated and lazy
March 5, 2018

I have not had a problem with my agent but the corporation is GARBAGE. Geico gives the appearance of being a good company but once you get past the cute little mascot you see the reality. I was nearly killed in an auto wreck by a reckless driver. When I gave my recorded statement, to the corporate operator, they wouldn't listen and they could barely speak in coherent sentences. The company acts like they are on your side and will "investigate" a claim. They don't. They blindly believe bias, police reports over hard, scientific evidence. They don't have time for that. They do nothing to protect you as a loyal customer. Right when you think everything is fine, they double or triple your policy for 3 years to recoup the costs. Avoid this company like the plague.

FYI, If you have adult children in your home that carry a license but don't drive they will charge you like they are active drivers in your household. Geico thinks that its ok to do this and make you pay way higher premiums for young adults in your house. They raised our price from 900 every 6 months to over double that overnight with no claims or accidents. I always thought we were insuring our cars not people that live in our house because they cant afford to move out. Geico thinks its ok to push costs on there insured without insuring any extra vehicle. I think its just a way to make more money and get further into there customers pockets. If they were active drivers driving vehicle on policy this would be warranted but this practice borders on robbery and ripping people off! Maybe that's how they can afford all there fancy commercials!

Ancient fashion application forms. The uploaded document still needs to be made aware of. They are late. The underwriter department probably has people who need more capacity to perform critical thinking and empathy. They have lost billions of dollars in the last few years; I expect they will continue to go down year by year. I do not recommend any loved ones.

Their deceptive ad says you save 15% if you spend 15 minutes on the phone with Geico.
To make long story short some how their adjusters at the time of processing your claim will nickel and dime you to death., Their deceptive practices should be investigated by NYS attorney General.
They were trying to force or process this accident through my own auto insurance policy whereas the person who decided to back up into my driver's side should be 100% at fault. No fault of mine because I was just standing in the parking lot.
You ask why would they do that; the reason is that once an accident is processed through your policy then the insurance company's underwriting department will have a reason to increase your premium. They have turned this claim into a nightmare with the number of phone calls they have made. I plan to file legal complaint against Geico with NYS Insurance Commissioner.

Always there to help
December 26, 2023

Geico has been my favorite insurance company by far. Whenever I have needed roadside assistance or a tow or had questions, I could easily reach a friendly and personable representative. They have always been patient and taken care of my issues and explained rate changes, and whenever I've had financial struggles, it has been easy to get worked out with geico. My claims experiences for damage to my vehicle have also been easy and pleasant, although they did not give nearly enough for some body damage based on the cost of paint alone, that's been the only issue. I highly recommend geico as the price is right, the coverage is amazing, and the people are friendly and go above and beyond in my experience.

Generally its hard to get really excited about an insurance company, car accidents, body work and premiums. These are not the things dreams are made of BUT since you must be insured, THIS IS THE COMPANY. Easy online access to everything, claims, our name it, great website.
Customer Care Superb on the phone and at the body shop. Easy in and out. Smooth car rentals. Courtesy pickups. For me, lowest price premiums I have found.
Someone in corporate is keeping the staff happy. It shows. Thanks Geico!

Geico has been very good to me. I'm saving about $500 a year over the policy I had with another company. I've never had to make a claim where I was at fault, so I don't know how they are when it comes to that.

Insurance

Geico is an amazing insurance company! I had another Insurance for my car and I was paying outrageous prices just for liability. I recently had to make a claim through Geico and they handled everything so well. I highly recommend getting a free quote from them to see how much you can save.

Left Geico auto after 30+ years when they extremely raised my rates without any logical reason. Gave them a chance to reconsider and they refused. The longer you are with them the more they will treat you as a cash cow to be taken advantage of rather than rewarding you for your loyalty. A very poor business model. Also left their batched homeowners when I found they were using a formula which does not give the best rates to those with the best credit. I felt their formula was just another money grab. It's a shame but they are no longer the company I once knew and trusted.

I recently had an accident that caused considerable damage to my car. The party at fault had Geico coverage and in no time, I was compensated for my loss. Mann, the Geico insurance adjuster should be commended for his efficiency and prompt response. What could have been a worrisome experience. Wasn't. Many thanks to all.

Without much notice (a month before the next cycle) they raised rates by over 100%! That's insanity and people should not have to pay for others mistakes or because they have to pay more for their employees.

So UNHELPFUL
March 10, 2015

I was the victim of a hit and run - while I was inside a store, my car was smashed into.
I took it to the auto body and had to argue with Geico for an inspector to go there to look at it, with that stress out of the way, they then tell me I will not get a rental car the next day (something included in my policy I have been paying for for 7+ years!) but they wont give me one, despite me paying for it in my policy... how do I get to work then and how does that make any sense?
They have bad customer service, a supervisor is yet to contact me back and they only added to the stress I already had from my car being hit. And they're too expensive. Go with another insurance company you'll be sorry if you don't.

We lost a family member in a tragic accident who was covered by Geico insurance. Geico insurance was made aware in a timely fashion and issued the estate a refund for the policy portion paid in advance. 8 months later we received a notice that the estate was being sent for collections for the past due ($84.00) account. We called and tried to explain the situation and were told the money was past due and needed to be paid. After going up the chain of command we finally were told that a death certificate needs to be sent and they will "send it to the underwriter " to see if this will suffice.

In my opinion I would look elsewhere for you insurance needs.

Living in FL with their auto policy. After hurricane I feel they are scrambling any way they can to make up losses. My policy last year for 6 months car went up 25% plus for minimal coverage. So i signed up with competitor for comp. That was much better- a natural thing to do with car insurance. The new policy was to kick in same day Geicos ended. Instead G decided to continue the old coverage without getting payment and not being enrolled in auto-renew. Months down the road they requested payment to which i called and they took that as a cancellation but then wanted to back charge. I then sent them proof of other coverage but they kept sending payment request letters. I don't think this is correct to continue a policy without being paid for the period- I was on a 6 month policy. Plus calling them was useless as they wanted payment before even talking to me- what's up with that?! Truly corporate abuse-cant imagine those struggling with getting payment on claims!

As a customer of 30+ years, angry and disappointed does not quite cover my feelings Geico, after an accident not my fault happened. Geico did nothing did not file against other driver and was quite happy to have me foot the bill as a no fault accident. I had to file against the other driver, prove he was lying (which I did), and handle the repair afterwards which when I complained about it because like the service I was getting at Geico was inferior. Geico responded with "It was my responsibility". They never came out and looked at the accident scene, looked at my car before or after repairs, nothing. So now I am stuck with a badly repaired car but a new insurance company (not Geico)

Terrible Company
September 3, 2022

The Geico adjuster did not do his job and as a result my mother who is on a fixed income cannot buy groceries. Enterprise has charged her several hundred dollars because Geico failed to extend the rental like they were supposed to and as a result her account has been drained.

I had an accident that was pretty bad a little over a week ago. Gieco customer service came to the rescue. They had my car towed, got me in a beautiful rental car quickly and easily, and my adjuster has been so on top of it and responsive, always making sure I was happy and well taken care of. I didn't expect this level of service from them and I am very impressed!
