Horrible laundry center

Bought 2 laundry centers for rental unit. First machine required new mother board and cost over $1000 in repairs after just 14 months of single user use.
Now my second unit not draining and have had it looked at once already just 2 weeks ago.

I bought a laundry centre that was not even in use for 18 months(used by 1 person only) when it required a completely new mother board. Ge covered the cost of the parts but I still paid close to $1000.00 for repair., completed April of 2023. The machine is acting up again, not draining probably and there is a burning smell, all the same problem as previously. I have tried to contact GE via email as instructed by phone but no response, Do not buy this product

For almost THREE MONTHS my family has been without a washing machine. We had the same technician come to our house on five separate occasions, and with each time a new piece was ordered. Absolutely no representative reached back out to us after saying they would do so. The case manager, John, said that he would call me back and look into replacing it. A few weeks has gone by and STILL NO RESPONSE! It is clearly apparent that GE does not care about their customers and I would NEVER buy another GE product ever again nor recommend it to anyone. This has been a nightmare experience, especially when I have two young kids.

Terrible customer service

First we didn't get the legs for washer/ dryer combo. Called GE they said they would order them and send someone out to PROPERLY install. They took 8 days to order, then we kept calling to get the status or a tracking number they hang up on us or transfer the call to another person who know nothing about our issue. Please close down your customer service center the people you hire should not be in customer service.

I do not usually write negative reviews because I prefer to approach life with a positive outlook. However, as an interior designer, I feel it's important to warn others that GE Appliances' Cafe line is aesthetically pleasing but highly unreliable. Despite their one-year warranty covering service and parts, the frequency at which their appliances break down is unacceptable. One of my clients has been experiencing issues with their Cafe French Door Freezer for the past six months, despite it being less than a year old. The freezer has defrosted multiple times, which has caused the ice maker and water dispenser to stop working. Every time a GE technician would come to diagnose the problem, they would order parts and return two weeks later to fix it. And then, within a month, the freezer would break down again. According to GE's policy, if an appliance has been fully serviced/repaired four times, it will be deemed non-repairable and replaced with a new unit. A full-service repair is when a technician conducts a diagnostic check and then repairs the appliance. However, in this case, GE has sent technicians to my client's home several times too many for those diagnostic checks and completed at least four required full-service calls, including replacing crucial parts like freezer freon.

To provide some context, the freezer unit is less than a year old and has broken down for the fifth time after its fourth completed service repair by a GE technician just two weeks ago. When I scheduled the fourth repair for the end of November, the customer service representative extended our warranty for another nine months. She explained that given the rate of breakdowns, the freezer was likely to break again soon, so she wanted to ensure that we had no problems getting a full replacement when that happened. Unfortunately, now that the freezer has broken down for the fifth time in less than a year, GE has denied a replacement after dozens of calls and several hours on the phone with their service department and customer relations. This is unacceptable. GE Appliances must be held accountable for their lack of product reliability and customer service. If you are considering purchasing from GE, save yourself time and money. The Cafe appliance line may look good, but it's not worth it!

Zero Stars Actually!

Purchased Cafe 48" Refrigerator. Terrible! Terrible! Terrible! Customer Support no better. Stopped cooling within the warranty period, 6 service calls now without a cooling refrigerstor. You would think a $10,000+ Refrigerator would cool? Buyer Beware! Had no Frig for Thanksgiving, now awaiting parts until after New Years. I am boycotting GE for life, done!

There was a time GE meant something, NO LONGER!

Junk washer
December 9, 2023

5 month old ge washer vent system. Already dead.waiting on 4 new parts to be replaced. With laundry stuck in washer for 3 weeks so far.door locked won't open.will not let me return.will only allow repairs.recieved 1 part so for from Thailand. No wonder washer died it is assembled with Thailand part.would not advise anyone to every purchase g.e.products.they are pure garbage.

I purchased a new profile dual oven, microwave and French door refrigerator as a set in slate. All the appliances have broken down and need repair yearly! They are the worst products we have ever owned! I purchased Christmas lights from GE the same year and they have all quit working also. Whoever is in charge of quality control should be fired! NO GE PRODUCTS FOR ME EVER AGAIN! The customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. Do yourself a favor and buy anything else but GE!

I purchased a GE Gas range and initially i was happy with the product. However after using the Oven for the first time and then using the Steam Clean feature I noticed a blue/green discoloration on the top of the oven door. I rubbed the spot away and then saw the obvious rust.
I called the GE appliance store and they could not have cared less. They said rust is not covered by the warranty. Since i had the range for more than 7 days (NOTE the range was installed 14 days ago and this was the 1st time i used the oven) they refused to do anything to help.
I'm very disappointed that GE does not stand behind their products.

STAY AWAY FROM GE ( General Electric) products they do not stand behind their products. I purchased a stove Refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave on July 23,2021. The microwave stop working, I called their service department had to wait for them to call me back. After going thru a lot of steps with a lady. I was informed it probably needs a magnatron. But that they don't have any service repairman in my area. I would have to find my own. Pay them to confirm what is wrong with the microwave, and they would send me the part. Well I called a service repairman and he said it would cost me 250 dollars just to come to my house. Mind you he would have to come twice(the microwave goes for 499,00 new.) Because they don't give me the part till I actually know what is wrong with it.

GE appliances Is trying to force me to buy their water filters at $50 a pop because they didn't include a bypass plug with my brand new refrigerator that I bought from them. So now I am forced to either buy the bypass plug For $43.23 Which they just happen to sell, or buy their water filters. I called them up about this and they said in order for me to use my refrigerator with my water dispenser. I either have to buy their filters or buy a bypass plug. Which they conveniently never mentioned, What a big con game, I'll never buy from you again. Shame on you GE I've been buying from you for years, and I will never do it again. That's real bad business. How dare you?

GE Dishwasher

This is the WORST appliance I have ever owned. The dishes are not clean. Water backs up in it. And it STINKS! So disappointed and angry that I chose GE appliances for my new kitchen. Horrible. I'd rather have my old dishwasher back. Never again!

GE customer service is worse than 1-star. Apparently, they no longer include owner's manuals with their appliances, although their quick guide says to call *******000 to order a paper copy. I need an owner's manual for a recently purchased microwave. I called the number, waited on hold for an hour, and was told by their very unhelpful representative that they no longer print them at all. Then she very rudely hung up on me. No more GE EVER!

Horrible Appliances

My GE refrigerator makes a loud grinding noise and the GE technicians say that it cannot be repaired. The refrigerator s only 3 three old. GE customer service is the absolute worst. Don't waste your time and money and energy.

I bought a washer and dryer from Home Depot and in less than two months the dryer stopped heating. GE came and said I needed a part and would be back in three days. It took three weeks. The part didn't work so they tried a new motor. Three weeks later, they put the motor in and said all good. It still didn't work. Came back three weeks later to try another part and still didn't work. Now it's been three weeks and I'm waiting on the next part. Brand new dryer that didn't work for two months and now I've been waiting three months and it's still not fixed. My five year extended warranty says I won't be without a dryer for 48 hours. Unfortunately that doesn't kick in until GE factory warranty ends. What an absolute disaster.

Will never buy GE again. Bought a new bottom freezer refrigerator and has not ever worked correctly. It ices up and then gets warm causing food to spoil. Have had warranty service several times but have not fixed it. It has been a year now so they will probably say the warranty expired, that is if I can get through the labyrinth they have set up to keep customers from making contact. My half hour wait is now at fifty minutes and I need to go to work. Congratulations GE, you win again, I could not make my warranty claim again. I have to hang up like all the other times I waited hours to get through.

Very disappointed in this GE Adora dishwasher. GDT580SMF0ES. One year warranty--lasted 6 years. Tried to troubleshoot with a replaced water inlet valve. Made an effort to buy from local appliance store. Now have to buy a new one and dispose of dishwasher with built in obsolescence. Disappointing!

Consumer beware! Avoid GE at all costs! Go with LG when making purchasing decisions. GE after sales service has been terrible. In October 2021 we bought a suit of appliances, all GE worth $7.5k. Our fridge stopped working in Jan 2023, 15 months after purchasing. It took GE a number of weeks to send a tech so we had to buy a new fridge as a spillover. After copious tech calls outs and varying issues, as of August 2023, the GE fridge is still not working (ice maker and freezer doesn't work). To date, we have had ~5-6 service calls and spent 15+ hours on the phone calling GE to rectify a pleothra of separate issues including compressor failure, gas circulation issues, ice maker and freezer failure. The technician was last here (Aug 2023) and deemed the unit non-repairable due to a leak in the system. I called GE customer relations again and they couldn't care less that our fridge packed up 15 months after purchasing. The only thing they offered was a discount of a new fridge but unfortunately we will not be purchasing GE going forward. We have spent too muchg time chasing GE for updates and their customer service department is reactive versus being proactive with updates on the case.

Finally we received our new fridge, so I can get rid of GE fridge, a piece of junk. We bought a new GE fridge last year, just passed its one year birthday, it refused to work. You know what my bad luck, it could happen to anyone. Then my wife called GR customer service, we been told the part is $700, then labor. And a tech will contact us in 48 hours. Until Thanksgiving weekend, nobody called us. I was very upset, I said I would call this time. My wife said it was a holiday, I said it was my holiday too. My wife said you were too angry to call. She called on next Tuesday, the customer service gave her a number to call. My wife called, and has been told that they don't have our claim number. Therefore my wife called the customer service again, the customer service said she would handle it. I told wife don't waste our time, just order another one. Finally we receive our new fridge, and junked the GE garbage. No more GE. If we came here before purchasing GE, then we would never choose it. By the way, we bought it from Homedepot, whoever reads this comments, you know what NOT to choose

Never again!

Brand new stove top has not worked properly since day 1. Service call 1 replaced some parts and still didn't work properly. Service call number 2 - order the rest of the parts they didn't replace on service call one. Awaiting back ordered parts called again today to find out my order was cancelled! Shameful of a company of this magnitude. Had they replaced the entire until from service call 1 my review may be different. I will never again buy or recommend this company to anyone!
