Bought 2 laundry centers for rental unit. First machine required new mother board and cost over $1000 in repairs after just 14 months of single user use.
Now my second unit not draining and have had it looked at once already just 2 weeks ago.
DO NOT BUY
I bought a laundry centre that was not even in use for 18 months(used by 1 person only) when it required a completely new mother board. Ge covered the cost of the parts but I still paid close to $1000.00 for repair., completed April of 2023. The machine is acting up again, not draining probably and there is a burning smell, all the same problem as previously. I have tried to contact GE via email as instructed by phone but no response, Do not buy this product
5 month old ge washer vent system. Already dead.waiting on 4 new parts to be replaced. With laundry stuck in washer for 3 weeks so far.door locked won't open.will not let me return.will only allow repairs.recieved 1 part so for from Thailand. No wonder washer died it is assembled with Thailand part.would not advise anyone to every purchase g.e.products.they are pure garbage.
Range: burners don't last/schematics are incorrect/rust at the oven window. Unheard of! Dishwasher: electronics done/14 months. Fridge: gaskets useless, lights burnt out, compressor whines/10 months.
GE customer service = USELESS. The Brick, just as bad. GE=$4000 down the toilet. Heather, you're a PEng, fix your junk appliances!
Purchased a GE Cafe oven about 5 years ago. $4000 plus taxes, installation and etc.
Now I find out repair parts are no longer available for the oven. Unacceptable and horrible product support. Never buy GE anything unless you enjoy burning up thousands of dollars.
I purchased a GE Profile refrigerator and it has been nothing but trouble. After waiting a week for it to be delivered, it arrived with a dent in both of the French doors. They took that unit back and delivered another unit one week later only to arrive with a dent in one of the French doors and a gash on the inside of the other. Rather than send it back ( at this point it had been 2 weeks without a refrigerator) I agreed to have 2 doors shipped out to me. Tonight (the second unit was delivered yesterday) I opened the freezer to grab some ice cream and noticed droplets of water. I assumed the freezer was not closed fully so I pushed it in, only to watch it pop open after a couple of seconds. I'm not sure how this unit gets the 'good' reviews, just be warned, it's a piece of junk. Quality control is severely lacking.
Built in microwave so must stick to this horrible brand. 3 years ago my entire kitchen was done in ‘slate'. No way to color match other brands. The hinge on the oven failed and cannot be fixed, tried for 6 months. Lemon! Hinge is in door, not body of stove, impossible to fix with 5 repairmen giving up! Buying a different brand, all I get from GE ‘customer service' is apologies. Never buy GE!
I bought four kitchen appliances from home Depot in 2016 December, Article number *******158 to replace my very nicely working but 25 year old appliances. I was happy that it will work longer years. After installation, GE dish washer left things wet. It was repaired twice. After one year warranty was over the larger burner's central part of cooking range stopped working, so far I am unable to get it changed or repaired due to expenses. No w the over the range microwave is out of order. First a fuse blew, that was replaced by us but now its totally gone case. I regret changing my appliances to give new look. GE is a big company but what should we do people like me who spend for their product with their limited budget after painstaking decisions of spending money at right place.and
Dealing with a kitchen appliance set for 5 years. Tried BBB and nothing no one calls back. After thinking Kevin Nolan an executive by the name of Bill called and said maybe if they can they might send replacement parts. They can take all 4 appliances and shove it. More pictures but could only post 1
Bought a brand new home in NH and builder supplies all GE Profile appliances. We had no choice in the matter. If we had we would have NEVER purchased GE. That being said Profile was suppose to be GE's "upscale" product. We were thinking positive. Product in question is Built in Profile microwave which is not even 3 months old. Top corner piece just broke off. Plastic apparently, and JUNK. I assumed GE would stand behind a new product. But nope. They only cover (what they say) cosmetic for 7 days after purchase. What a scam. It is model #PEB7227AND. My advice is stay away. There are much better products out there. Looking forward (not) for my dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and range hood (all GE) to die soon. Hope this advice saves someone making a poor choice and a whole lot of $$$ for a crap product(s)
When we purchased our home 5-1/2 years ago the kitchen appliances were all GE Profile. After 3 years the microwave stopped working and was eventually replaced by GE because of a design failure. The new microwave, designed for families who can't cook, is functionally useless. Last year the ice-maker in our side-buy-side refrigerator went on the fritz and cannot be replaced without having a technician do it. Today, it started leaking water from inside the front of the freezer door from a source that cannot be readily determined. The gas range now appears to have recently started to leak gas from some internal area in the oven.
Bottom line, what ever your thinking of doing, we strongly suggest that you do not consider buying any GE Profile appliance. Our experience has shown us that they are unreliable and have presented built in defects within 3 to 5 years. Considering the cost for these appliances, your money can be better spent on more reliable products!
Well it's been since November 7th since my 1st call to repair, after 8 times out and 3 months the same thing that was wrong from the beginning is still not repaired. Ge warranties are obviously useless! At this time still no hope in sight!
Bought a GE double oven/gas range Sept 2016. April 2019, 2.5 years later, top oven doesn't hold the correct temperature when I program it... even though it says 350 degrees, it really could be 210! Had to pay labor service call of $99.95 to look at the thing and $50 part deposit... total of $155.95.
Service tech comes back 9 days later with parts. Service tech was nice enough not to charge me the labor second time, but just labor costs of $74.78 and one of the 3 parts her replaced... I think he knew their appliances are crap! Another $166.54 out of pocket.
Now, Feb 2019... same problem AGAIN! Preset oven to 350 degrees, beeps saying oven is at 350 degrees... when I hit "cancel" and "bake" and "start"... temp down to around 200 degrees! WTF!
So now, I'm "on hold" waiting for a consumer relations person for almost an hour! See screenshot! Wish me luck!
After spotting water pooling on floor I found Reverse Osmosis unit leaking. The problem was a fault that developed right through the plastic body, a pressure leak. This could have been a disaster! I found "standard" replacement units do not fit. It must be replaced with same defective part! Also inside washer is deteriorating!
Customer service is non existent as no one answered phone. I spent an hour listening to deliberately horrible hold music. Avoid GE Appliances!
Do not waste your time, money or energy on ANYTHING GE. I recently bought a refrigerator in May 2020 and it is already not cooling/freezing. Calling the customer service number is anything but helpful. You will literally sit on hold for hours on end. As of right now, I am still trying to get my 4 month old refrigerator fixed and nobody will stand behind the 1 year warranty it came with. Buy at your own risk.
My husband and I are retired and exactly 27 months ago made the huge mistake of purchasing a GE WASHER and GE DRYER from Lowe's. We were, however, smart enough to purchase extended warranties. There are only two of us in the house so usage is very light. The washer has broken down at least six times since we got it and even now cannot do regular load without going off balance and shutting itself off. The dryer broke 13 days ago. Simply stopped working. It took days for someone to come out and we are still waiting for parts to be delivered. Meanwhile, no dryer! Horrible appliances and lousy service. Buy Maytag!
Horrific experience. Purchased my appliance 2 weeks ago and already needed a repair. Technician never showed. They rescheduled me for a week later without even attempting to contact me after I was placed on hold for 10 minutes then hung up on by the customer service agent. Try another brand(be careful because they own a few brands).
Customers of Go Elsewhere products might want to know that they were purchased by the Chinese in 2016. Anyway, we purchased a freezer and while under warranty it began leaking refrigerant. To make a long story short, they refuse to fix it or refund our money. Their solution is for us to purchase another of their crap products and get a "good will rebate" after we send the paperwork off by mail! My written warranty says they will repair or replace, not a rebate that may be like $25 or who knows. Don't purchase anything from Go Elsewhere, as this company has no problems lying, cheating, committing fraud, or breaching written contracts. It took the Chinese to provide us poor quality, but apparently American greed to bring in a total lack of integrity, for a totally hideous product!
I have made 13 phone calls today to report a crack in the "plastic" spacer between handle and oven door and can't get to anyone to explain a. Why is it made of plastic? 2. How can I get it fixed. I've only had it for a year and a half and I live alone and don't mishandled it. I got one guy that wants 68.00 + 14.00 shipping to replace the whole handle. Don't buy GE. Garbage.
Within 2 months the washer started literally moaning. Sealed motor of some kind was leaking oil everywhere. Even after repair didn't work good. Just discovered today that the water temperature is not working, hot, warm, cool or cold is ALL cold. Yes, I checked the hot water valve. This machine is junk. GE cares more about profit than manufacturers a good product.
My dishwasher stopped working after two years. The owners manual doesn't provide information on replacing fuses or anything beyond basic operation. I thought by buying GE, I was buying a quality product. No, I've learned my lesson and will avoid in the future.
Answer: SCAM! $800 EXPEND IN LESS THEM 4 YEARS AFTER MOVE IN A NEW HOME WITH GE APPLIANCES-GARB COMPACTER, ICE MAKER AND NOW, THE WATER FILTER HEAD... PURE SCAM... PRODUCTS ARE MADE TO BREAK!
Answer: Yes. I have repeatedly experienced this problem for the past 5 years on my 5 year old GE Refrigerator. Using your fist or a mallet, strongly tap on the fan's surround to break ice free. It will quiet down. However, a quality appliance would not require this type of user intervention. If it makes you feel better, I built a new house with all new GE appliances ( because we liked the slate color) and every single one has issues and has been a profound disappointment. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy GE. We learned the hard way.
Answer: I sure would entertain joining such an endeavor! They deserve to get a kick in the ass if you ask me.
