I ordered something online that had a really high shipping fee. I was asked if I wanted to try out FreeShipping.com in order to get the shipping fee refunded to me. Sure, why not? I was told the trial membership would only last for a certain amount of time (a month I believe) and if I did not cancel my trial account before then I would be charged. A month later I went to check up on the refund I had filed for and saw that it apparently takes 6-8 weeks to process! So that means that in order to get your refund you have to extend your trial period, and therefore get charged each month. So you're paying money each month to "save money" on each refund. I don't buy too much online so this really doesn't seem worth it to me at all.
I am shocked to see so many negative reviews. I have been a member for many years and have been happy with the service. I never encounter problems with my Shipping Rebates and only occasionally experience problems with my 10% Cashback but those problems are resolved. Issues can be resolved via their website and customer service is readily available if needed. I am considering dropping my membership because the $12.97 monthly fee is being raised to $20, probably due to ever increasing shipping costs, but my long-time experience with freeshipping.com has been totally positive.
Got the $12.97 charge notice via text from my bank at 6:00 am one Saturday. Called freeshipping.com to ask what it was for and they said it was a monthly membership. I said cancel immediately. I also said I didn't remember seeing anything about a monthly fee on the website. She said she would issue a refund within 3 to 5 days. What a scam.
Hi John,
We're sorry to hear about the confusion regarding our membership fee. The monthly fee is stated on the sign up page, directly above where users enter their credit card information. Only those who choose to extend their membership past their trial period will be billed our monthly fee. Otherwise, users must cancel their membership during their trial period if they do not wish to continue and pay the monthly fee. This information is also stated on the sign up page, in our terms of use, which must be agreed to before signing up, and in the welcome email each new member receives afterward.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to help@freeshipping.com and we'll be happy to help you however we can. Thanks!
Sincerely,
The FreeShipping.com Team
I initially got on for a $15.00 rebate I was suppose to get. Never got it and called them a few times. They don't return emails. Either. They are quick to charge your account but take months to pay out claim. So by the time you get your $10.00 claim they've already charged you $12.99 three times on your account.
Hi Mirtha,
I apologize for any inconvenience you have had when dealing with your membership. We try to respond to emails as quickly as possible, certainly within 24 hours. Your rebate is guaranteed regardless of your membership status, so you can cancel your account and still receive the rebate. Please email me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com and I would be more than happy to help you!
Thanks!
This is more of a warning and not a rating, because I didn't actually use the website because they are deceptive and shady. They will charge you a monthly fee but will put it in apparently microscopic print so you actually do not know about it. Plain and simple, if a company is going to charge any sort of monthly fee to its customers, it should be made obviously apparent. The fact they put it in the fine print and emphasize the aspects of free shipping and rewards shows that their goal is to trick and deceive, there is no other explanation. Again, don't know how the website is, maybe it's nifty, but be vigilant.
Hi Nathan,
I apologize for any inconvenience. The membership fee is included in the registration form when you sign up and members are free to cancel at any time. Please reach out directly at Help@Freeshipping.com, I'll be happy to help.

This is a legit and pretty efficient outfit. I've been a satisfied member for 6 months. They have an amazing variety of participating merchants, which is a lifesaver during COVID-19. I've learned always to check their website first, before placing an order. You do have to read their terms carefully about their procedures and dollar limits, which I didn't do at first. Sometimes I have to follow up on a missing rebate, but they are legitimate mistakes.
Hi H. K.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share this great feedback! We appreciate you sharing your experience with Freeshipping.com.
Thanks.

Beware of this company! They are scam artists of the highest degree.
It all began when I sent my partner flowers in 2018; when the flower company offers you free shipping don't believe it. I was automatically enrolled in freeshipping.com unbeknownst to me.
I have never filled out an application, or been advised of a free trial. The only reason I realized the recurring monthly charges was when I scrutinized charges on my American Express statement.
Unfortunately American express was only able to credit a few months of the charges.
I called and canceled my unknown membership immediately.
I will do my best to expose this disingenuous internet company and their deceptive marketing practices, they should be ashamed.
Hi Vincent,
I apologize for any inconvenience, the membership fee is included in the registration form and a welcome email is sent upon joining. Please reach out to me directly at Help@Freeshipping.com & I'll be happy to help.

So turns out I signed up for free shipping without knowing. I just recently found out that I was being charged 12.97 for the past 5 months! I didn't even receive a single email that they were charging me!
I had complained on this site about being charged $12.97/mo for four years plus that I never noticed and never used their service. Freeshipping saw the review and gave me a total refund, that shows me that they are a really honest and ethical business.
Hi Stanley,
I'd be more than happy to explain how you joined FreeShipping.com and also issue you a refund for the charges you incurred. Please contact me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com and please reference Customer Loyalty #S613.
Thanks!

Thought it was related to Amazon, This only covers some stores. At.$10.00 or 12.00 a month, over $100.00 a year it greatly exceeds any individual shipping costs, especially since for purchases over $35.00~$50.00, stores usually provide shipping for free.
Hi Lucky, FreeShipping.com members can earn 10% cash back on their purchases in addition to shipping rebates and other benefits. If we can be of any assistance please feel free to reach out directly at Help@FreeShipping.com.
Charged my Pay Pal account $2.00,$10.00 and $10.00. I had never heard of these people.
I was told when I made an online purchase a pop up window came up and automatically charged my account.
How do they get away with this?
Hi John,

My account was closed because I once had an account with them using a different email address. They said I was "violating the terms of use." I'm sorry, people do change their email addresses for a variety of reasons, which is what I did. Now they will not send me a check for all the claims I submitted AND they won't refund me the money I was charged to have this account. F**king ridiculous! I'm most definitely contacting the BBB about this!
Hi Angela, we're sorry, however there is only one membership allowed per household. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
Forced me to sign up if I wanted to check out at dillards so I ended up signing up. Worst mistake I ever made. I then noticed that they started to take money out of my account. So with one threatening email to them telling them i would sue and had they had 2 days to respond. Magically the money was refunded back to my account and and my freeshipping membership was cancelled. In the end if this happens to you just do what i did.
Do not use freeshipping.com. The company I bought my parts from sent me an email with a link to freeshipping.com. On their site it said "EXCLUSIVE OFFER" and below that it said (free shipping was in capitalized bold letters) "Get FREE SHIPPING on THIS order!" It also said this is a "ONE-TIME OFFER". I paid $283.40 in shipping and all they sent was a $15.00 dollar rebate check. When I asked about this I was told that. "The offer was up to $15.00 off the cost of my order." Clearly not what their site said, A Rebate is not nor will it ever be FREE SHIPPING! I don't understand why they cannot honor what they put in capitalized bold print?
Yesterday I got an e-mail from them saying I'm still eligible to claim a $20.00 cash back rebate from my recent purchase. Seriously? If I pay them $12.97 they will send me $20.00. What a slap in the face.

Got trial membership, got the intro reimbursement check after more than a month. I cancelled membership and got the cancellation notification, if I needed to call the bank if more charges appear, hopefully not! From several "Instant Free Shipping" websites that I checked, none of them shows Freeshipping.com logo/link that you can "instantly got the shipping charge wavered". It left you with the option of claiming for cash back, which is only up to $10 a month. So if you pay almost $13 per month to subscribe to this service and actually none of the instant free shipping websites gives you added benefit -free shipping- then you do the math...
I cancelled this service in 2014 and my charge card is still being charged to this day in May. I had to cancel my credit card to finally have them stop charging. It doesn't matter how many times you call them to get the problem fixed. I have complained the Attorney Generals Office here in Rochester, NY

Slick talker got me to sign up. I called and cancelled with no problem. Charge on my bill in the new year, shortly after I cleared out my paperwork for the last year. Called and cancelled again. They can't remove the current charge without the first cancellation #. I'm stuck!
Any time someone has a problem with Freeshipping.com they can contact them at customerservice@freeshipping.com to get it resovled. People are not reading the materials regarding the membership and this seems to be what causes the confusion. A simple email can help you resolve any issue.
Saw a recurring charge on my bank account, (never heard of this company and did NOT sign up for a monthly deduction for nothing in return). I called the number on the. Bank transaction and they said this would be cancelled and my money refunded. I was told I would receive an email confirming this... Still waiting
Hi, the refund will take 2-5 business days to post to your account. This refund is immediate by us, however may take your bank a few days to post it to your account. If you have any questions please call me at 860.358.9198 x237.
Thanks!
A red flag went up when the information to sign up wanted my credit/debit card information without any mention of charges! Bad business practices. Needless to say I looked up reviews for this company before going any further. Will never give out my credit/debit card information without full disclosure first.
HI Suzanne, Full disclosure of charges that are billed monthly, after the trial period, are clearly stated tp the right of where you enter your credit card information. Sorry you missed that!
I have n idea how I ended up with a subscription to freeshipping.com! I contacted them. They said they were sorry to see me go, and the next month I GOT CHARGED AGAIN. I keep getting charged 12.97 twice/mo! Nothing free about that! I wanted to give them 0 stars.
He Elaine,
Can you please reach out to me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com so I can look into this? Once you cancel your account we will no longer charge you. Please contact me directly and reference Customer Loyalty #F229?

Answer: Their advertising is a little sneaky I give you that. But that's your fault, just like out on the city streets, a fool and their money is soon parted.
Answer: Hi Christina, unfortunately I can't locate your account using the information here. Can you please reach out to me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com?
Answer: What's so dishonest about it? I am a regular subscriber and can easily recover my subscription fee many times over.
Answer: I did, but only after threatening to report them to the Attorney General in my state. They rely on the fact that few people will make a fuss.
Answer: You have to buy items from a website…anything from eBay to BATH & BODY WORKS, OVERSTOCK…many others. Go to "freeshipping.com" then delete the site from which you plan to buy-it will direct you to that site. (I always take screenshots of final receipts to add to my freeshipping.com submission), Afterwards you need to enter the purchase date-total cost and shipping cost…then a code is given. I have timed myself-the submission takes 35 secs if you are fluid on the computer. Have been a member for over 5 years and saved hundred$$! Trustworthy site-w/discounts as well as freeshipping (up to $10/order). $500 max shipping refunds per year…no limit on 10-20% off discounts!
Answer: Hello, Any cash back you earn as a member is yours to keep even if you choose to cancel. Thanks!
Answer: Hello - No problem, I have sent confirmation of this to your email.
Answer: Hi Carla, Please reach out to me directly at Help@Freeshipping.com. I will be happy to issue a refund for the membership fee. Thanks! Samantha Customer Support Supervisor
