Ordered a product they said was in stock on 7/25. Received an email that it had shipped and would be delivered on 8/9. On the 5th I received another email that the product did not make it on the delivery truck and it would be put it on the next truck. Then I heard nothing for days. So reached out to customer service and was told "oh sorry the product is not up to our standards and that was the last one" we don't know when it will be back in stock so we will give you a refund. Now a week later and I have not received a refund. I reached back out to customer service and they told me my refund was already processed. But no email confirmation of that and no refund has posted to my credit card. I had to contact my credit card company to get my money back. Don't buy from this company! They are a scam!
I purchase two chairs and two nightstands in sept of 2021. Receiving the items took forever. After multiple emails, phone calls and hours wasted, I finally received the items in January of 2022. One year later, one of the chairs that was over $1000, split at the joint. I contacted customer service and they had me fill out a form, complete with pictures, receipts and videos of the damage. The claim was denied because they evidently have a 3 DAY AFTER PURCHASE claim requirement. Which means, after 3 days they do not offer any sort of product assurance. For a $1000 chair to last a year is absurd and their customer service is hard to reach, passive and negligent.
We're truly sorry about the longevity of you chair. Initially your claim was denied, because we have a 3 day reporting period for shipping damage reporting, and a 60 day period for our satisfaction guarantee. After that, then the manufacturer's warranty kicks in. We have since communicated with the manufacturer to arrange you compensation for you chair, and we apologize for the time it took for that case to be reviewed and completed. We hope that the resolution makes things right.
I placed an order with these folks for a fairly expensive peice of furniture. After several weeks they emailed me stating that they would not fulfill the order unless I spend more money (table was $2000). I declined and they decided to cancel my order. They said to expect my refund it 14 days. After 14 days the refund was not processed. I contacted them and they stated it was processed (I confirmed with credit card company that this was not true). Another 14 days went by and still no refund. I contacted them again and they said they would look into it. After another week still no refund. I finally issued a chargeback for fraud and the credit card sided with me and refunded my purchase. These folks tried to wait me out and see if they could steal my money. They are criminals and thrives. Do not give them money. The whole operation is a scam to get you to spend money the not refund after a extended wait. I don't think they actually ship product, it's just a predatory front page preying on online shoppers avoid at all cost.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with France and Son, and I must say it was one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've had as a customer. The store's customer service is an absolute disaster, and their policies seem to be nothing but a smokescreen for their lack of commitment to their customers.
First and foremost, the customer service representatives consistently spewed out excuses and lies when confronted with questions about their policies. It's evident that they have no intention of being transparent or providing satisfactory answers to customer inquiries. Whenever I asked about why some offers included a free gift while others did not, their responses were full of contradictory statements and vague explanations. It was clear that they were simply trying to brush off the issue rather than addressing it honestly.
Moreover, despite placing an order for an item that was supposedly in stock, there has been absolutely no movement or progress on my order after several weeks. The store's website boldly claimed that the item was available and ready for shipment, yet here I am, still waiting without any update or estimated delivery date. This lack of communication and failure to fulfill orders in a timely manner is not only frustrating but also unprofessional.
The store's deceptive practices and overall lack of accountability have left me feeling completely dissatisfied as a customer. It is deeply disappointing to encounter such incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of this store unless they are prepared to endure endless frustration, misleading policies, and unfulfilled promises.
France and Son's customer service is nothing more than a source of empty rhetoric and unhelpful excuses. Their policies and frankly their teams are designed to mislead customers rather than provide transparency. Furthermore, the lack of movement in my order despite the item supposedly being in stock reflects their negligence and lack of commitment to fulfilling customer needs. Save yourself the headache and avoid this store at all costs.
This company is a scam! I have purchased a credenza and they have said that it was in the truck and out for delivery multiple times but no one calls or shows up! Rescheduled over three different times and they still don't deliver. It is supposed to be now delivered on 6/5 but when I follow up they say they cannot "guarantee delivery." At this point they have stolen my money and this is fraud. I will be working with my credit card company to report them and potentially law enforcement if necessary. Do NOT ORDER FROM THIS FAKE COMPANY! Truly they should be in jail for theft.

We ordered over $9000 in bedroom furniture and paid an additional $300 for white glove delivery service. The delivery men weren't able to carry the furniture upstairs to the bedroom. They promised several times new delivery men were scheduled to carry the furniture upstairs. Each time the promise was broken.
We have called 6 times over 8 days, each time a complete run around. Now calling the credit card company to dispute the entire amount as the product and service were never completed. They can come pick up and keep their furniture.
Not litigious but if needed we will go that route. SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY, DO NOT BUY FROM FRANCE AND SON.
My experience has been absolutely awful. I was given the delivery date of March 14, so I took the day off to receive them. The driver did not show. I had to call several times to get a straight answer as to what was going on. Then I was told they would deliver it Wednesday morning, and I had to explain to them that I could not take off another day of work to accommodate their schedule. I would need it to be delivered after 3:30. They told me Thursday for delivery, two days later. When I noticed he was too far away to deliver Thursday, I called again. After another runaround, I was told the tables would definitely be delivered after 3:30 on Friday. Around noon on Friday, I received an email that the driver took my tables back to NYC. Now they will not be delivered until Tuesday night, an entire week later. France and Son has refused to refund me for my white glove delivery or to do anything as a compensation for this terrible customer service. At this point, I am concerned that my marble tables will be broken since they have traveled from NYC to Chicago, back to NYC, and then supposedly to Indiana a week later.
I returned items - they gave me a credit note and then cancelled it. Now they are refusing to give me my money back. They have lied to AMEX saying I never returned the items - this is not true. They owe me $2004 and no one ever returns your calls
I have purchased several items from them over the years. Recently, I purchased two living room chairs for a project that I was building. The chairs arrived and I put them in storage waiting for the project to be completed. When I unpacked them, I saw that although the packaging labeled both chairs the same ivory color, when I opened the two boxes I discovered one was ivory and one was peach. I reached out to customer service and they said that since it was past 60 days since I ordered them, there was nothing that they could do, even though this was entirely their mistake. They still list the correct ivory colored chairs on their website but refused to replace the one that they mistakenly sent me. I have never experienced such terrible customer service for something that was clearly the vendors responsibility. This was an easy fix but they wouldn't do anything about it.
I ordered a rug for $1,300. It came with free shipping. When I ordered it, I even asked them if I can return it if I don't like it in person. It looked like it had way more stripes than in the photo and requested a return. They reminded me of the return policy that said I have to pay for shipping for both ways - WHICH WOULD BE $600 BOTH WAYS! And I would receive a $100 refund. WHERE WAS THAT INFORMATION WHEN I ASKED IF WE COULD RETURN IT?!?! HOW IS IT $600 TO SHIP A RUG?! I've checked multiple websites to see how much it would cost to ship this rug to the warehouse it came from and it costs $150-300 - and that is from an individual person shipping something. Are you telling me that a MASSIVE COMPANY pays DOUBLE what the average person would pay to ship an item?

Took a long time to receive order and sales rep said 2 weeks. They send you a tn of emails to get you to buy and then crickets!
I normally wouldn't write a review, postive or negative, but I felt that the customer service at France and Sons was bad enough that people should actually be warned. I ordered a black lamp that I needed by a certain date. France and Sons shipped the wrong product and I had to scramble to find a replacement. But when I tried to return it, they demanded that I pay for shipping because it is "their policy" even though they sent me the wrong item. If the story ended there, it would be frustrating but not terrible - you ask for a manager and deal with it, regardless of outcome. But the issue here is that when you call them, the appropriate manager is always "busy" and "will call you back". That call never comes, and when you hold for that person, they let you hold for 90 minutes and then either come back on and tell you the person is not available, or my favorite "has left for the day" at 3pm. You will never ever be able to get a manager (or anyone that can resolve any issue) on the phone. They want you to give up. Ultimately I got them to ship the item back to me but only after I requested the assistance of my bank's fraud department. Do not engage with this company under any circumstances. They are the absolute worst.
This company will never give money back even if it is their fault. I ordered 2 table lamps as a wedding gift,but they sent me smaller size. I returned them right away. The return process was complicated. First, I filled out product information and took pictures of items and boxes. Also I had to fill out specific form. Few days later I e-signed. I asked for a refund and they said they would either find the right sized lamps or give me store credit. This process has been going on for almost two months. So I bought another gift because I ran out of time. There is nothing to buy with credit anymore. This problem is still unsolved.
Dealing with the team was frustrating with the back and fourth and then giving me new information each time. Very disappointed when all I wanted was a price match and had to get the product through another company.

Additionally, we do price match, and I see that we accepted the price match that you requested, but you decided to cancel instead. Don't do it. Customer service tremendously bad. Made me jump through hoops to return an order of a damaged sofa. Never a phone call. Only online with some computer. And lies and more lies.

We understand that it can be frustrating to receive a damaged item, and we do our best to prevent it and help when it does happen. Your review says that you wanted to speak over the phone, but our records indicate that we did speak with you over the phone, but you were not willing to work with our staff to provide the necessary information to file the damaged claim. Our claim process is an easy and straightforward for that requires images, and that can't be done over the phone, so our team was trying to explain that to you. Without the images we can't file the proper claims with the delivery company and manufacture to help. Additionally, our records indicate that during our phone conversations you were mean to our staff and made fun of their accents, and then refused to provide your order information.
This is a terrible company to both buy from and deal with. I bought two lights which were advertised with an Original name that is made in Italy (Crown Minor by Nemo lighting). When I received them, one was broken, and both were fakes made in China.
I sent many pictures the very first day I received the lights showing the damage and proving they were fakes (stamped made in China on the box). Yet the company denies the lights are damaged and says they were never advertised as originals. Yet I've taken a screenshot of the page and noweher does it state these are not originals. They were even charging almost the same price as the original (their price $1100 per light - original $1600 per light). I could have bought the lights on Aliexpress for $300 if I wanted cheap junk,
I've sent them at least 10 pictures of the broken light which they deny is damaged (it's clear from the pictures that it is - in two places). Now, I've given this over to my credit card company.
Buyer beware - they sell cheap Chinese junk under false pretenses of being original. And then they lie and cheat to try and get out of taking responsibility.
I placed the order for my coffee table and received it well before I expected it! Jason, my salesman followed my order every step of the way updating me with progress and shipping details. When the table was delivered the drivers took great care in uncrating and bringing the table into my home. I was completely satisfied with the service Jason provided, the delivery, and more importantly, I absolutely love my table. I will certainly look to France and Son for future furniture purchases!
This has been the best experience with an online furniture purchase. Sam made this purchase feel personalized and kept me informed on the progress of my purchase. I received updates every couple of weeks. I received my nightstands yesterday and was contacted by Sam to see if I was satisfied with the delivery and my new nightstands. Outstanding experience and I will not hesitate to order in the future from France and son.
France and Son has excellent customer service! I appreciate the status updates while waiting on my cabinet. It took a little longer than expected but was worth the wait once delivered with care. I was a little hesitant ordering furniture online, afraid the quality would not look as good as the picture but the cabinet looks even better in person! I was very satisfied with the quality! It was exactly what I was hoping for! I am a happy customer!
Answer: While some of our designs are inspired by originals its hard to say subjectively how they sit compared to the older designs. Some are very close, and some are altered to contemporary standards.
