I have gotten alot of furniture and lighting and love everything great customer service and all products look orignal and of high quality i hate seeing all the bad reviews as this has not been my experience at all
After shopping online for months, I was happy to find France and Son. Great products at great prices!
Fresh and innovative meets style and substance. Beautifully curated collection!
Well made quality pieces that are Durable, accurate and so fashionable.
I ordered and received the gorgeous chrome chandelier fixture pretty quickly. I did not have a negative customer experience at all. I would definitely purchase from this site again.
Beware, if you return a chair due to it being of poor quality as I did, they will back bill you for the supposed "free shipping" to you. And you have to pay to ship the product back to them as well.
Customer service nonexistent. No one gets back to you after the order of you have a problem or just a question. They make it difficult to get an authorization for a return and will not take anything back without one.
Everyone else with the one star reviews got it right. They sell you terrible cheap replicas of the things on their website then won't help you at all when you try to return it. If you should be lucky enough to get them to agree to accept your return and issue a refund, good luck actually getting it.
I ordered a coat rack from France and Son on 23 February. The piece arrived with one part missing (you can see it on the photo: second small ball from the left). I emailed them and they sent the wrong replacement part. Since then, they have simply been ignoring my emails and my questions about how to return the defective item. Definitely one of the worst experiences I have had with customer service!
Update on April 1st: Somebody finally responded and France and Son has now fully refunded the item. It looks like they are trying to improve things.
Ordered a starburst wall clock from France & Son on March 5,2016. Today is March 21 and after 2 1/2 weeks still no clock. UPS tracking stated package had not even been sent and they were right. Called customer service and the rep (who sounded and acted like she was 12) said it had indeed NOT EVEN LEFT THE WAREHOUSE and they would relabel and send it today. I asked if it could be sent faster (their mistake - at their expense) - NO. Would there be a discount for future purchases perhaps? - NO. We'll see (if the clock actually gets here) how long this takes and what the quality is like. After reading some other reviews here I probably should have just cancelled the whole order. Be afraid...
Found France and son after looking around on the web for some interesting lighting because I desperately needed more comfortable atmosphere compared to what I was living with. I purchased the concrete pendant lamps which I feel gives the room a powerful and understated vibe, whenever I look at it I get a small sense of satisfaction.
I went to the store in Chelsea and a gentleman named Jason helped me design my living room space. Everything got delivered the same week I ordered. I got white glove delivery and they set up everything for me. Everything ended up looking gorgeous, but I din't like one of the lights, so I sent back the light I didn't like and got 1 that worked soooo much better the next week. Everything worked out perfectly and I love everything they have!
I purchased a Replica Wegner Papa Bear chair from them. The quality is great for thew price, and I had no issues with any service. I'll be purchasing another matching chair next year
Not only is the customer service bad, I really am not sure if anyone is really there. No returns on emails. I ordered a table on 12/21/15 and the nightmare began. Was told that delivery would be within a week when I spoke to a women. Weeks later and many emails, finally someone from the freight company called. They wouldn't deliver because they couldn't bring an 18 wheeler down my driveway. I go on vacation tried to communicate with this company days later get a response. When I return was told they would sent a smaller truck. A week later they decide that they would only deliver my table curbside... 1000' from my home! I am a disabled senior citizen who lives alone so I told them to cancel and immediately send me confirmation that I was not going to be charged. Get email again days later, stating they will when the table gets back to their warehouse. Just TERRIBLE company! Shop somewhere else!
Purchased a starburst wall clock. Very flimsy materials. One tip bent. Wanted me to pay for shipping back + they would deduct their "free" shipping of $25 for a $100 item from my refund which only weighed 3 lbs! Will NEVER do business with them agaun. Meredith, customers service Mgr VERY unhelpful.
After purchasing a dining room table, the table legs arrived damaged - it appeared to have been damaged in shipping. When I took pictures of the legs and asked for a replacement, F&S refused offering a 5% credit on the table (which cost me $1900) rather than replacing it. When I stated that this solution was unacceptable and said I'd just return the table, France and Son prepared a return that discounted $300 for my purchase price (for "free shipping") AND expected me to pay the full return fee (another $300) through a vendor of my choice. In fact, here is an excerpt from the email that I received authorizing the return. Note the conspicuous condescension and total absence anything resembling customer care:
"We recommend packing well and insuring your return package. Our packages are only designed for safe shipping in one direction. The package integrity may not be stable enough for the return shipment, so do what you must to insure the package(s) safe return: double box, add bubble wrap, add foam filler... this is up to you."
Essentially, I was to pay $600 for the mishap of ordering France and Son's damaged product. Sounds fair, right? I cannot speak ill enough of France and Son. You'd have better luck getting furniture off the back of a truck in dark alley from a mustachioed guy wearing a beer stained wife beater.
I recently had my entire outdoor patio remodeled and have been looking everywhere for the perfect dining set. I'm a huge fan of mid-century and contemporary furniture and a friend of mine suggested France and Son. I was skeptical at first, but I can now say that I've made the best decision! Not only are the outdoor collection pieces beautiful and well made, but I couldn't have asked for a better customer service agent! I'm ready for my summer BBQ's and can't wait to show off my new patio!
I purchased this bar stool along with dining chairs totaling over $2,800.00 from France & Son. In a matter of four months, the bar stool has come apart - clearly workmanship defect. I emailed France & Son inquiring how to get it replaced, as it is not the craftsmanship I expected and paid for. Brad of France & Son replied with, "Thank you for the photos. I apologize for this defect and inconvenience. I am sending this info to a product specialist and to the factory to come up with a resolution for you." A week later, still no response and I inquire again. I receive the reply, "Based on the images, this joint should be able to be fixed very easily. Applying wood glue to the exposed wood, pressing the joints back together, wiping away any remainder, and allowing it to dry should resolve the issue completely. Please let me know if this solves the problem. If not, I will need to see some other photos to see what the problem is, and how it can be fixed." UNACCEPTABLE. So I purchase almost $3,000.00 worth of furniture, only for it to break - within a matter of months, and France & Son's resolution is for me to fix it myself - apply wood glue to "resolve the issue completely". GENIUS! Why didn't I think of that? What? For it to fall apart who knows when. Just what I need - a house guest falling off this stool breaking who knows what.
Buyers beware - I was contemplating my purchase from France & Son and took a chance -regretfully so. I will not be returning to France & Son - as this is not the type of customer service I would wish upon anyone. What company has the audacity to email a customer explaining how they need to fix a product they've sold them. I am disgusted with France & Son as well as their lack of customer service and do not recommend making any purchases as they could care less.
(I would have rated 0 stars, but it would not let me continue otherwise)
Whatever you do, DO NOT TRY and RETURN AN ITEM!
They won't send you a return label, and they won't give you all the necessary details about returning an item, or any other assistance at all to return an item. You will pay for their "free shipping" by having to pay not only the shipping to your home (that was supposed to be "free"), but also the shipping back to the store in case of returns. For example, I bought a lamp that was just way too overbearing for my living room (ok I misjudged by the photos on their website). The lamp cost $714 initially, and their "free shipping" will be deducted from my return ($157 - they get a discount as a business that ships often, but I do not). I paid $215 to ship it back, so now I've paid a total of $372 in shipping costs, and that's only of they decide to refund the item "as long as it is in the original packaging and there is no damage" per their "customer service" person, with whom I've spoken 3 times now. Each time he adds on something else to the requirement for refunds. In other words, I've committed some kind of crime to return an item to an online store, and they won't take responsibility for any of the charges at all! He didn't even throw a bone, like maybe offering to have it shipped back at their discounted rate. The last time I spoke to him and confirmed there was no damage and it was re-packaged exactly as received, he states "yes we'll refund the item as long as UPS doesn't damage it". WHAT?! I said, "you should have told me I would be responsible for any possible damage in shipping it back as well, for I would have bought insurance on it!" So, if there is any damage at all in shipping, or F&S isn't happy with the re-packaging, I'll be out almost $1000!
Terrible customer "service" experience, and lots of hassle and run around to return an item to an ONLINE store, who should be better prepared for possible returns as there is no way for customers to SEE the item first. So, of course, they will be dealing with returns! Wow, I will never ever shop at this ONLINE store again!
I was looking around everywhere for a nice Saarinen Marble Table replica, and decided to pull the trigger on this site. I never heard of it, so I decided to give them a call to feel them out. The customer service rep was so nice and helpful. I can't remember his name, but he even took additional photos with his phone for me, so I could get a better angle on some of the details. I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best, and to my surprise, the table arrived 3 days later! The quality was great, and my friends are all in awe of my Saarinen Table, and they have no idea its a replica.
Answer: While some of our designs are inspired by originals its hard to say subjectively how they sit compared to the older designs. Some are very close, and some are altered to contemporary standards.
