Very accommodating when I had issues with one of the lights I purchased. Ed in Customer Service was fantastic.

Fortunately, the experience I had with France & Son was not bad, as some of the other reviewers here. I ordered 2 chairs from F&S that should have been in stock, but did not ship immediately. A few days afterwards, I realized, however, that the seat height was too low and would not work with our table. As nothing had shipped yet, I worked with Rachel (and Richard) in customer service and they were both very responsive and courteous, and took care of the cancellation and refund before shipping. I would order from them again as their prices are very competitive. However, please be aware that France & Son does carry LOTS of items from many manufacturers, so some of those are low quality (and cheap) while others are good replicas when it comes to quality (but are definitely pricier). So you have to do your own research b4 ordering online.
I saw an item in HGTV MAG that was available thru France and Son. A clock featured in the High Low column. This item was the lower priced and is such great quality, so stylish and perfect for our home. Great service, quick delivery. I'll order again.

Kicking myself for not better researching a light purchase made from France and Son. The product itself was nice, but didn't work in the space. I knew I would be responsible for return shipping costs, but not outbound. Was reimbursed $249 on $399 product, but out $150 for shipping costs. UNBELIEVABLE. So unfortunate. Big ugly tears.

My daughter purchased a beautiful marble table for her kitchen at France and Son. Day 1 her child's water glass left a ring. Complaint lodged immediately as wants to return expensive table. Three weeks later and France and Son is as resistant as the water stain. This mom's now being heard. Stay tuned. EC
Ordered a light fixture. Received a shipping notification that a UPS label had been created. More than 2 weeks later, UPS still hadn't received the item from France & Son. I made repeated inquiries to Customer Service via web chat, email and phone. Finally cancelled my order when told it was not in stock. CS agent would NOT provide me with a cancellation number but assured me he had cancelled the order. One day later I received an updated shipping notification. I emailed to clarify that the order was cancelled. Received no response. A few days later the light fixture arrived broken (it is missing a screw on the interior which prevents it from hanging properly). Just terrible in every way and will never touch F&S again.
So hard to buy stuff online, and I always cross my fingers that it works out when using a new company. Reviews are kind of all of the places, so it's hard to tell. Well... it worked out. Now I'm sharing. Got what I ordered, and had no issues. UPS box was waiting for me about 5 days after I placed the order.
Get a new manager because the one you have now wakes up on the wrong side of the bed more often than not.
I have never bought from them before, but they were definitely better than the chain stores. They care about my order and treated me VIP. I would recommend
Like many other reviewers here, I was sold a sub-standard product that I ended up returning. And like many others here, I was charged an outrageous shipping cost ($110 on an order totaling $138).
This place is an absolute scam. They know their shipping costs and could easily alert you when setting up your return how much it may be so that you don't essentially give them back their product for free.
Also, there is no details given regarding shipping costs they incurred, so who knows if they are even charging you an accurate amount -- they are likely just making up a number and deducting it from your return.
Completely unethical. Stay away and do not shop with them unless you like being ripped off.
I had to return the item and they charged me for shipping roundtrip. I sent it back because I couldn't decipher the ridiculous instructions. I called them for more detailed instructions and even called the manufacturer. Neither had better instructions available other than the one drawing on a piece of paper.
France and Son's customer service is the worst. They sent me a broken piece of furniture; I had to track them down to get the info just to get it sent back and out of my garage. Then, I had to complain publicly on their facebook page for them to even get in touch about replacing the item. They said they were sorry and asked what they could do. But then, when I ask questions, or want an update: silence. 3 months later, and still no word when I can expect to get a replacement. They took my money and I have nothing but hassle to show for it. BUYERS BEWARE. Don't buy from them unless you are willing to wait half a year or more for your stuff, AFTER you spend the money.
Purchased four chairs, two were damaged which were replaced. Replacement chair broke when guest sat on (less than month old). They refused to fix - should go out of business they are that bad

I purchased an item from them on Dec 9th. One that stated was in stock. I figured that was plenty of time to ship to me for christmas, seeing that it was a gift. I called to check on the status around early Christmas week and was told that it was shipped by a warehouse but she couldn't give me a tracking number. Of course I still haven't received it today, Dec 26. Just called their number today and got a normal person who answered"hello". He said their offices are closed to Jan 3rd. Really upset over this unprofessional business. I don't even know if I'm going to receive this item. Sent in my 5th email to them

Who goes on vacation during holiday season? * at France and Son who promised that a $549.00 lamp would arrive by Christmas several weeks before. When I called yesterday, I came to find that the offices are closed for the holidays.
Today is Christmas Eve and I am heading out to find a replacement gift. After reading other reviews, I can say that I am glad that they never shipped. Sounds like we would have been as unhappy with the quality as we are with their lack off service.

I ordered a side table that was advertised as a hardwood (tan color) top with gunmetal legs. What I eventually received was more like a black granite top with mirrored steel legs. At the time I ordered it there was no mention on the website that there were color variations. I expected some variations of wood grain but nothing else. From the beginning there were shipping issues, that were resolved after 3 weeks of phone calls and a pervious bad review. After a formal complaint about the product, what I heard back was there were no physical defects in the table so I'm SOL. France and Sons and their source on this table are deceptive and shouldn't be advertising something that is so blatantly missleading
I have been shopping for furniture lately and i cant believe how much astrid helped me via the homepage. She suggested pieces for me plus she helped me with room layout. I put my whole room together with her help. I would definitely suggest that you chat up Astrid. Thanks
Purchased an $800 chair that was advertised as free shipping. This is false marketing. They neglect to inform you of the return charges which came to $450! If I was informed that SHIPPING WAS NOT FREE and that I would be taking a $450 dollar gamble on a chair, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED FROM FRANCE AND SON. Their business practices are dubious and unethical. They are engaging in false advertising and extortion. If it truly did cost $450 to ship an $800 chair, they would be OUT OF BUSINESS. No issues with product quality but the company. These guys should be investigated by the better business bureau. STAY AWAY and buy from an upstanding online retailer like Overstock or West Elm.
