I was planning to visit Cambodia and when I got my holidays it was the eleventh hour to book my tickets. Still this website offered me a decent deal.
For the past 7 months I have been using this travel website very frequently as I find the prices good and the service on time. It is very useful.
We needed a flight on a 2 days notice. They have been quick and efficient and by far the least expensive. We got a really good experience with them.
From timely mails or mobile notifications to prompt customer care service, I have always received on-time service from the website.
It’s been two months that I have been using this website and booked my tickets thrice. I faced no hassles.
I have been using this website frequently. I find most of the deals cheaper than others and the prices reasonable.
I have book ticket with theme and after 4 day later i got E ticket by email... there price was best but there customer line was very busy
I had to book my flight for Peru. All though this is my first time with this site, but it was a nice site.
I'm writing this just to share my experience, based after reading all the negative experiences.
Shortly after purchasing, I realized I hadn't received the eticket, only the confirmation from the website. There was already a pending transaction on my credit card. I got on this site and others, read about faregeek, and obviously started getting nervous.
I decided to wait 24 hours before doing anything. 24 hours after buying the ticket, I still hadn't received my eticket. I called the service number, and selected 2 for a return, instead of 1 (when I had earlier tried 1, it kept me on hold but never got me to a person. 2 got me to someone immediately).
The dude on the phone was helpful. Less than 5 minutes after being on the phone, he understood my situation, and had my eticket emailed. He then took the time to explain their system, and why there are so many bad reviews.
He explained that many people do get nervous when they receive the confirmation email, but not the eticket (seems faregeek should better communicate when customers will receive the eticket). He also explained that the transaction might put two holds on the credit card, one from faregeek and one from the airline. I have no idea if this is legit, but I know that kind of thing makes me nervous when I see it on my account. He said this was normal, but that I was more than free to contact the bank if I had any problems with the double transaction.
I haven't flown yet, so I can't speak for sure how this will go. I did use the flight code to check in with the airline directly on their website, and my ticket was there, so that seems to count for something.
I was never asked my passport number anywhere, for an international flight, so thats a bit odd, but perhaps when I check in to the flight, I will give that info. And I will keep an eye on my bank account. If things change, I will update accordingly.
Not trying to contradict others' experiences or defend the company. Just sharing my experience. Good luck and safe travels!
Booked a business flight to bali, marshall did not follow threw on what he said he would do. Lost flight lost a lot of money. BE CAREFUL THESE PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING
Booked a flight 48 hours before it was supposed to leave. Never managed to get the confirmation email. Tried calling around 20 times during a 8 hour period, but issue was never resolved, and im not even lying. Never ended up leaving, and had to book a flight a couple days later.
I dont quite get their strategy, but it truly pisses me off. Do not have a single good word to say about them.
More information to just make sure everyone knows how incompetent this company is:
First of all, I book the ticket with around a 36 hour notice. This should be good enough in most cases. The airport several hours away, which already leaves me short on time.
First additional thing I have to do is to fill out the authorization form for the payment of the ticket. That works out fine, but the process takes a while. We will leave that there. They said I will have the ticket issued in one hour. And here it goes. 17 phone calls made. Just been told a lie every single time.
First call is around 6pm, and they say the ticket should be issued in one hour. I call back several times with the same answer. The standard answers: "the team is working on it right now and it will be issued in 2 hours."
At 2am, I start to get worried. Its 4 hours until I need to leave my house to reach my flight. I ask them one last time how long it will be. This guy asks the team, the team tells him 10 minutes, he then goes on to tell me 30 minutes just to be safe.
At around 3am I call back, im in a hurry now, and the answer I get now is to wait until the morning to get the tickets issued? The flight leaves in 10 hours, I need to leave within 3 hours. And they tell me to wait until the morning for the tickets to be issues? I mean, after telling me 10 times 2 hours, 30 mins, and 1 hour they go on an tell me in the morning.
The website prices are decent and discounted. There is no scope for charging extra later. The website is transparent in terms of business.
I never ever write reviews but my experience with faregeek is beyond appalling that I have to make a stink. Maybe the company will be put out of business and the scam artists will be jailed.
I booked a ticket and also got confirmation email. A week later, I got the cancellation email. I called my the company and waited 35mins to speak to somebody who said that they didn't push through with the booking since the price increased. I debated with him for an hour since he kept putting me on hold and he said there was no supervisor to review the case.
My point was how come they emailed me a confirmation but waited A WEEK to cancel it. They could have told me immediately and I would have gone elsewhere. The fool told me how come I waited a week to call them. How is it possible to call them sooner since I can't predict that they will cancel it a week later? Then the guy BERNARD said he will give me a "discounted" rate, which was $200 more than the original price because he said the prices went up. Of course after a week, prices go up! To top it off, his "discounted" rate is actually still $50 more than if you actually booked directly with the airline. How much more if he didn't give me a discount?!
THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM! And they get away with it as evidenced by all the reviews here. HOPE SOMEBODY TAKES LEGAL ACTION IN PUTTING THEM OUT OF BUSINESS!
Since I was traveling constantly a while ago I was booking tickets using the mobile app. The process is easy and fast, similar to the website.
The customer care team is all sober and polite! I have called them when I needed help and have been assisted with great co-operation and conduct.
My friend recommended this site to me for booking my flight to Poland. It gave good price and was easy to book.
I have used this website twice in the last 6 months and have found the services and facilities useful. Thanks a lot.
My cousin downloaded and used the mobile app post my suggestion and have booked tickets for London. He loved the website service.
I have used the website as well as the mobile app. Both are fast and the service is decent to make bookings on the go.

Answer: Sorry to hear about your mother Laura. We should all report them!
Answer: It depends on the airline not on fare geek, but don't book with this company if you can manage not to. They are literally liars, and I hope I don't run into Yu's problem because I just cancelled my flight with them.
