Tried to use an online promo code to get a ticket. Very soon after realized I had a conflict and tried to switch my ticket time. Spent an hour in an online chat queue to be told they were unable to help me in any way since it was a promo. They were quite unhelpful. Guess I won't be using Fandango ever again.
I accidentally bought tickets for a theatre in Pennsylvania while I live in Minnesota and I requested a refund but they would not give me one. I explained the situation and they still refused my refund because they are an hour ahead so the show had already started but here on my end, it was an hour behind and would not have started. I had no idea they were an hour ahead and despite explaining this, they still did not help me out with the issue.
I purchased a ticket online to and was charged for 2 tickets. I contacted them through online site and called they were not helpful at all. I was not refunded the money since I purchased the ticket 1 hour before show time and refunds are only given 2 hours before show time. Purchase at the theater don't waste your time or money. Worst ever
Don't waste your money because the time you will have to waste trying to use them is well over an hour. No customer service and terrible time trying to use their gift cards on their good for nothing web sight!
Negative 10 star if that was an option. They list the price as "bargain" price; but it is the same price as you could get at the theater. On top of that, they charge you 20% convenience fee. Then you still have to stand in line to get your tickets. It is a total ripoff. Do Not Ever Use them! They should be out of business.
Bought 16 tickets and 3 didn't show up right before movie., went to counter and nope they cannot refund. So I send them an email and no they can not refund me because the movie has passed. I even asked for a gift card so I can purchase again and they still wouldn't

I loved using fandango until I bought a ticket for the wrong date. I didn't use the tickets and they would not let me transfer the tickets. They told me my only option is to repurchase them.
Terrible customer service
I bought tickets to see despicable me 3 not 3D or imax. When i got to the theater it was in 3D. My 8 and 3 year old didnt really enjoy the movie so i tried to contact them to make things right and they were very rude. I will never use fandango again. I double checked my purchase history and it clearly says regular movie.
I tried to get a refund before the movie start time for 5 tickets purchased under my VIP membership and was refused because it was within 2 hours of the start time. That shouldn't matter - if you can't use the tickets before the start time and you contact them, they shouldn't keep your money! They should either credit the charge or allow you to reschedule the tickets for another time. VIP must mean "Fandango will keep your money" in their language.
I reserved tickets online through fandago. It said failed transaction but they took my money anyway. Said had to wait 24-48 hours to get a refund and they did not reserve the seats. They gave no explanation, refund or compensation. I ordered 143.00 in tickets.
Useless fandango gift card. Tried to use, no good number. Showed a ticket, but no way to get at it. Tried again, site said invalad. Worst giftcard ever. The guest service at the theater said it was some internet thing? I ended up paying out of pocket to see the movie!
Using Fandango is a joke... can't wait to complain to the BBB about this poor customer service Tried to use there site to get a refund... anytime you click on the button it doesn't work.IT never seems work in the customers favor... only for Fandango.
Can someone explain to me why anyone needs Fandango to buy tickets for them and charge the consumer 13% to 18% for doing it? Have we as a society got to the point where we can't walk to a ticket counter and buy tickets? Fandango is the biggest ripoff company in business today and they should be investigated by the FTC and put out of business. They are parasites making money while doing nothing!
Purchased tickets via Fandango. Move theatre was actually closed. On the phone they told me to call Fandango to get a refund. 27 Minutes on Hold with Fandango got me to "Patrick W" whom told me to... wait for it - call the movie theatre for the refund. Oh, and while typing, hung up on me. He did apologize for not letting me know that the movie theatre was closed though. Boo..
I bought tickets for 6 senior citizens and 5 were able to make it The 6th person was not feeling well and could not make it. We arrived 20 minutes early and the theater said only Fandango would be able to refund me for the one ticket. I tried to call Fandango but there was a long wait so connected to them through chat. After finally connecting, the movie had started about 3 minutes after connecting. I explained the situation to the chat associate and they said they could only provide a full refund if the movie had not started yet. I was out of luck. The associate said, I could ask the theater for the refund but the theater refused. The chat associate said I did not request the refund prior to the movie starting and I would not receive any refund.
This service is terrible. I will be sharing this story with all my friends and family and highly advise not to use Fandango. If you do, there is a good chance they will rip you off.
They advertise you'll get a 20.00 reward and then do not honor their own promotion. Then cannot tell you why. They are garbage and so is their customer service :)
I received $45.00 Gift Card for FANDANGO... unfortunately my cousin did not know you can only purchase on line and a"service fee" is charged each time you use the gift cards. So sad that this company does this to customers. The balance left is $4.42 and sadly FANDANGO counts on this!... We won't use it because after they charge a "service fee" there will be less than $2.00 so all the monies will go to FANDANGO... will NEVER purchase anything from this company and will tell everyone not to use them!
They say you get refund if you call before show. Yeah right they keep you on hold and they make sure they answer after show starts so they can denied your refund. The customer service is rude and they hang up when you make a point idiots. Never again bunch of scammers.
The value in pre-purchasing your seats for a movie is only an added benefit when you are guaranteed to get the seat of choice when you arrive at the movie. This is what Fandango offers. However, not only do they not guarantee you will get the seat, but they do not care when you finally get through to their understaffed customer chat line to report the issue. They charge a hefty convenience fee but don't ofter an ounce of customer service! Save your money, buy at the theatre box office!
Fandango does nothing but steal your money. Their online chat is no help as all they do is cite the rules back to you. Horrible experience with no resolution. I bet Fandango is laughing all the way to then bank with my hard earned money!
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
