I cancelled 2 seats flight from Vancouver to London due to Covid, got $1500 in credit. When I wanted to use the credits to book same flight different time, agent informed me that only $80 is applied, the rest is lost due to taxes!. I tried to book under different name, the actual cost is $1800, but when I tried to apply the credit, the cost jumped to $3800. Expedia.ca is really a SCAM, stay away.

I signed in to my Expedia account to book a hotel room for 1 night in Windsor Ontario. I chose a hotel and the advertised rate for the room was $70 Canadian. When I clicked to reserve it, all of the sudden the base rate of the room was $79.99. Taxes and fees were then added on to that bringing the cost of the room to over $90. I talked to Expedia, ca about it and they said it went to $79.99 because of taxes and fees but those were added later so this was not correct. I spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to get an answer to the question of why the rate went from $70 on one page to $79.99 on the next page. No answer was given. This is false advertising in my opinion and I will not use Expedia anymore.
Looking for a motel and found one for $167 plus tax. Booked it and when I finished after putting my account in it came up to $197.65 plus $31.15 tax minus $31.34 I had in points. I chatted with someone and they said the $167 was with my points yet the difference was $27.65 and my points $31.34. Then they said it can have a price change until the end. So they can advertise $167 then at the end change it to $197.65. Is that not false advertising?
Expedia still owe us $500 for cancelled West Jet flights after few months of phone calls. We were able to book the flight 3 days after with email confirmation and credit card charged, we had to pay $326 extra. Today received an email said the flights cancelled, call the customer service, Expedia said the previous agent made some mistake. And today he wanted to charge us $650 more instead. Then I asked to book a 1 way ticket for $251 per person instead, my credit was $244 per person, difference of $7, but the Expedia agent said I have to pay $90 per person instead due to some BS reasons they giving. The numbers don't lie, why they BS their customers. I asked to speak to the manager, the agent said the manager will give me a call within 24hrs, I doubt they will call. I asked to speak to the manager before, 2 months ago, still no call from Expedia yet. I will not use them again, from now on book the flight directly with the airlines.

The actual hotel receipt I received was significantly lower than the amount I had prepaid to Expedia. Even though for 1 night I paid over $40 to Expedia than if I had booked directly through the hotel. I contacted Expedia by email - no response. Then online live chat and they "repeatedly" say their charge was correct as shown in the credit card. So, I gave up and file a charge back case with my credit card company. NEVER book with Expedia again, they are criminals. This company should be shut down, they are a scam I will also write this to BBB.
Think hard before you use this company. I made an error booking my hotel reservation and called them minutes later. I was cascaded into a blame game, with Expedia.ca passing the buck and throwing the hotel under the bus. The hotel then blamed them. The result? I was pickpocketed for $200, never actually checking in. They said they felt terrible but couldn't do anything. I had previously trusted this company. I'll never use them again. This was a disastrous experience.
My husband crashed his foot after I've purchased an unrefundable 5-star resort. Although I knew it's unrefundable, I tried to explain our misfortune to Expedia. My phone call was answered in a few seconds. The representative Joe was sympathetic and told me to hold on line while he was making a phone call to the hotel. Few minutes later he told me the hotel was willing to fully refund me. Then he sent me a cancellation confirmation to me. Right away. Next day I found a full refund was credited back to my account. It's a big relief, especially in a stressful period. I appreciate Joe's thoughtful and capable services. And I will be a loyalty to Expedia.
Made a booking with some friends for a hotel for 3 nights. Due to my job, I was not able to stay the third night. I called the hotel directly and they told me I needed to change my reservation through Expedia. I called Expedia and they told me I can cancel and rebook my booking completely. The issue is, our hotel was fully booked for these nights and I would need to change the room in which we booked... Fitting 3 adults onto a king size bed was not an option. I did not want to rebook, I simply wanted to change my booking. As is advertised on their website.
In the end, our only option was to rebook completely, change rooms and pay the SAME PRICE for 2 nights as it would've been for 3... never will book through them ever again. Waste of time, customer service is garbage, and they falsely advertise...
After researching a surprise Spa visit for my wifes birthday I chose Expedia.ca and was given a secure booking at the Spa. The date was confirmed, I began making further plans. I printed off the Expedia " secure booking " confirmation and did not notice the lack of an " itinerary # " everything else was confirmed as booked. Days later I decided I would check with Expedia just to be sure all was going as planned. No Itinerary # No way to contact Expedia or a real person. I could not get past the first step without an itinerary #. I phoned the resort: No confirmation, No record of a booking in my name or Expedia's. I dug deeper and found that my Secure Booking had been altered at a later date to read that my reservation request was denied by Expedia. I was not notified and had to find out for myself that I no longer had a reservation. Fortunately I discovered this 4 days before the planned resort visit. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with Expedia.Ca

With my full respect, Sometimes it has very good packages and rates, but to be honest.
They dont give a $#*! about anything, they only care about getting money from custumers.
And i totally agree how unprofessional our costumer service and how non speaking english they are.
I actually my self dont understand anything from them.
Basically Expedia makes her call center in egypt because we Egyptians dont take much money like other countries.
I can say as an agent i take maximumly 300 USD per month.
So dont expect to deal with a professional company.
And PS:
Never use price guarantee option, they will make you pay the expensive rate without refunding you back.

We cancelled our tickets in March 2000. Now We made 2 calls since November to book for india trip in march 2022. These tickets were send as confirmed booked but no ticket numbers were sent! Now we got to know tickets weren't booked inspite of getting emails of confirmation. Once they said air Canada was at faulty second time system fault. Now the amount we pay about our credit has increased from initial 600CAD to whooping 3600 CAD
Now it looks like they scammed us! Will keep 6000$ and we have no booking!

We booked with Expedia for our family vacation in Penticton BC in February! On our arrival at our motel we were informed we would have to move 2 times on our weeks stay in the motel because of the way Expedia booked our stay in there rooms! The first 2 nights in a upper floor 1 night on a lower floor across the way and the back up to a second floor. You have to understand with luggage and food for a week's beach stay with 2 kids! It was very stressful then you have to wait for the person in that room you are waiting to check out and half your day is gone then you do the whole thing over again! This is the first time that Expedia has done this crap to me and I'm not impressed! Now I know why booking with them seems so easy-to-use?
Late last April I booked a 3 night stay in Montreal at the Hilton Garden Inn Centre Ville from August 15th to August 18th for which the determined night stay price was $ 237.50 a night plus taxes. We decided to cut our stay by one night because the weather was not really nice so when we did check out on the Saturday they proposed to send our invoice by email therefore saving us time and enabling us to hit the road quickly. A few hours later I received an email that included our two day total cost of $ 918.56 for a stay in a basic room with two queen beds, it was detailed as such, $ 357.93 for the room + $ 29.00 for the parking, $ 12.53 of Hotel tax (3.5%) + $ 55.48 of taxes for a grand total of $ 459.28 per night. Not quite the $ 237.50 plus taxes that was initially discussed was it?

All make sure you received confirmation in written from Expidia that include breakfast parking etc. in case they promise you don't trust them I paired parking twice also you have to check the location by your self Expidia was the wise choice I made and if you go out of you Irvine country they will tell you we don't have exes to your file
Expedia changed our flights and apparently notified us but it had to have gone to junk mail so we weren't aware of thr change. Booked our flights 8 months in advance. Google Calendar never changed as we never received an email to inbox to open and update the change.
We tried calling thr airline to reschedule as we waited at the check in counter and we were hung up on 3 times. Frustrating to say the least and we never ended up getting ahold of them. Will never book again with Expedia.
Just the day prior to me leaving for Bermuda, my wife and I call the property to ensure we were all set for vacation and the room will be available. The owner of the property nonchalantly informed us that our room had a leak and to call Expedia. We informed them of the issue and just simply wanted to ensure we had a place to stay. Six Hours later we were still without a room, but managed to speak to a Supervisor and Three Representatives to try to resolve a simple issue. It seems they are good when they just take your money, but when you need them to champion for you to resolve any issues with stay etc... they are a NO SHOW! - FYI - they managed to give me a refund in increments of 300 dollars and it will take weeks to credit back to my account.
Expedia booked my flight from Edmonton to Calgary. At Calgary I will have 47 minutes to run from domestic to International and go through immigration in order to catch my flight to London. How does one do that? I phoned Expedia twice and requested an earlier flight from Edmonton. Expedia consultants (Bryce and Alex) lack common sence and are not helpful at all. Expedia is the worst.
